- Discover a massively underutilized Photoshop tool to precisely select fur or animal hair! This lesson will explore a combination of new and classic techniques to get the best fur and hair selections in Photoshop! We’ll also learn to use the Brush tool’s blend modes to further perfect the mask and select every strand of hair. Finally, as a bonus, we will also learn to remove edge fringe and halos around the fur when you place it on a contrasting background.

Thanks for making this video. I’ve always been disappointed in how the select and mask function worked. I thought it had to do with the brush size in the mode. This is a more comprehensive look at the procedure and I think this addresses this better than any video I’ve seen on this subject!

I know people have said this before but just need to say it again. You videos are probably the best photoshop tips ever. One of the things that make them so different from others is that you never assume your audience understands the concept of each tool. I remember when I first started out and when watching a video of someone explaining a tip. I would have to go down a rabbit hole to understand the tools they used.

Beautiful result, Unmesh! It would be amazing to see a similar tutorial for complex backgrounds. Like with lots of mixed lights and darks. That happens a lot - a photo taken outside, let's say, that needs to then be used on a solid background. Thank you for all that you do! Keep up the amazing tutorials.
