Hi, Thank you for taking the time to make a tutorial. I have the problem that all the tutorials I can find will center the text following the middle line of the path. Mine doesn't though, it puts ithe text on the inside of the path for one text box and the reversed one goes on the outside making two different text paths..... How do I get the text to follow the center of the path, not inside or outside please? Cheers anyone that can help.
Hello, Sorry for the late response to your question. I would take a look at the size of your text box. If your box cuts off some of your text, the text will fall below the line when you click the Text along Path button. If your text box is too big and leaves a lot of space between the box and your text, it can push the text up and above the path. This may take some trial and error, but I would make sure your text fits perfectly within your text box, if it still isn't centered on the path, click Ctrl+Z (undo) and try again. Hopefully changing the size of your text box will correct the issue.
This video's great. However, once I get to the rotate tool, it keeps trying to rotate the circle. I have the new layer selected in the layers menu, but no matter what I try, it moves the wrong layer. Any suggestions?
I had the same problem. I figured out that you have to set the rotate tool back to layer instead of path to get the text layer to move instead of the circle.
Just found this as I was about to go to bed, but I've been trying to create championship belts in WWE 2k24, and I've been racking my brain to figure out how to curve text for it, and you know it just seems like it'd be something easy (could of sworn it was, but I don't have a sub to adobe anymore so) but I think this will be a better method than the pen one because I couldn't get it to curve just right.
So, I guess I'm just not meant to use gimp. Every tutorial I watch is either wrong or just simply doesn't work when I do it. I'll do things exactly how they are done in the video yet something else ends up happening. I guess fuck it.
My experience too - but it's not us. It's that these tutorial presenters describe things cookbook fashion, but are next to useless (my polite way of saying plain useless) at providing insight.
Honestly hate the way text has to be curved in gimp. i don't want to create new curved text from exiting text, i want to curve the existing text to a path. . the way gimp does it now completely ruins cursive texts that overlap, as the path nodes just intersect and cause it not fill properly.
Sorry about my speed. I try to make these videos short and to the point. If you're having trouble following along, closed caption can be enabled. I manually update this feature to make sure it's correct before uploading my videos. Additionally, you can slow down or speed up videos in TH-cam. To slow my video down, tap the cog wheel in the right-hand corner of the video, and you can change the Playback Speed there. I hope this helps!
Thank you. You made it easy to follow.
Great video. Idk how you don't have more subscribers. Keep up the good work
Great video. Simple and detailed enough.
Great video. Easiest ever because I got it done and it came out perfect!
I suppose GIMP doesn't allow animation so the words will rotate in a circle?

@@ShortOfIt I'm so sorry, I was meant to come back to this.... We have to have the text box size set to auto size
