I can’t understand how you managed to create a fragmented, disoriented beginning whilst describing the feeling of being lost/overwhelmed by choice.
Then as you cleaned your space and used more definitive statements rather than questions, the video became calmer and calmer until the lotto machine made sense, and all the “random” themes came together.
A video that seemed to tease the idea that it might be last minute, and that the story was a bit all over the place because you were figuring it out as you filmed, turned out to be figured out from the start. All part of the plan.
    Just brilliant.

Yes, it is a great way to tell a story rather than being linear. I don't know who inspired who, but his brother Casey does the same thing. Leaves you with questions only to answer them later. They're both incredible story tellers and their voices lend themselves to being a fantastic voiceover as well.

Follow the signs Brad. Not everything in life is as randomly decided as a leaf blower and ping pong balls.
That sign telling you you’re on the right path is your intuition. Follow it my friend… if you make a mistake, you’ll be able to repent.

A quick lesson there in how to take a very basic idea we've all heard 10,000 times before and always pretty much ignored (just pick something and do it godammit), and present it in such a beautifully calm and artistic way that draws you in completely and grabs your soul. And makes you realise you're wasting your life. Wow. What an amazing video. Thems some crazy Ninja talents you got there Van. Top notch storytelling and top notch filming/editing. A real cut above the rest. That was a pure pleasure to watch.

Organization is key! This is exactly what happened to me this week. I bought a sofabed for guests or visitors 4 years ago (I live in Ibiza-Spain, and during the summer everyone wants to stay here for free and they break up our daily peace and routine) I sold the sofabed last week that was in our second room, got a huge space available now in our second room, so I started to organize everything (I am a crafty lady of 37 y/o) Now I have a room to meditate, a very professional office and workplace. I built myself a weights rack from some palets to get a minigym to work on myself in this new room, this new room gets me money as I can now work from home, gets me peace of mind since everything is so big now, gets me in shape with the little gym I have here and I bought my first dremel to start little useful crafts to make my life easier. Thank you for this video.

"W hen you are stuck organize" - this is totally what I do! What I fail to do however is organise enough when I am not stuck to implement one of the many, many, many ideas I have bouncing around my head - successfully.
My ADHD, dreamer, has the most profound ideas, thoughts, inspirations - My super power is just that - IDEAS!! My kryptonite though, is the execution of those ideas, the fleshing out, the analysis of each idea - to define and build - and most importantly, to complete an idea/project.
Your channel inspires me to seek those ideas and nurture them into tangible things, into reality.
    Thank you Van!

It’s part of the creative process I suppose. Organizing. I will do such a thing tomorrow, writing in my journal will organize my mind. Then write some more, (fiction), I may have not have everything figured out but I do have a good beginning and a good ending and I won’t lose any more time not putting them down and moving on to the next thing. Today, where I am, a little girl lost her life. Made me think how there’s no time to lose. Do your little things. Keep keeping on. Take a walk. Breath. Thanks Van. I really appreciate you

Don't thank us, we are lucky to have The Spirited Man. A fresh, imaginative and wholly inspiring channel. Plus, your name is Van and that's freaking cool.

I love the birds and the typewriter noises at the beginning of each episode. It’s similar to the feeling of starting a meditation with a few deep breaths. In that short amount of time, those sounds help me to open my mind, listen, and prepare myself to find something to take away. Van’s got a real talent for this stuff. I’m grateful he’s doing it.

Another gem from you Van. Entertaining but also thought provoking. Your non-linear story telling also captures the audience with questions like, "why is he making a ping pong ball machine?" only to be answered later. Your voice is also very calming. Also tried to see what's on your post it. One topic was what is means to be rich followed by , in parenthesis, not to lead with saying having a healthy family "bullshit". Haha.

As a spirited man who perpetually struggles with indecision and states of being stuck, I fully appreciate this video. Looking forward to the stochastic future patterns generated by the Stihl leaf blower decision machine. Brilliant contraption and narrative device.

So many times I've felt like this before, and letting the universe decide what to do has always proven to be the best way....

The beginning of this episode and repetitive, stuck presentation reminded me a lot of the film “Memento”. Really appreciate how that essence was captured and looped. Great resolution at the end too, Van. Keep swimming, lads.

wonderful, thanks, what helps above all is getting a clear mind, just beyond thought is a clear space, bright and awake. Dropping all thoughts for a moment can take us back to this origen, our ground of being, where we can feel safe and from which new ideas arise. From here strength can rise up too, it is as if touching source it self.

I live in rural Oklahoma, and To The Wonder was mostly shot in and near my home town. I have a cinematic release poster from the early showing they had here. Really interesting how small this world is.
