Awesome video AJ. I'ved learned so much from your videos, awesome job. Three years ago, i would be skeptical about really geting into my Arrma diffs, etc. and watching your videos i attack it with no fear of messing anything up, so, thank you.
Great help in your video, it was worth watching to the end. My Fireteam is still stock even though I have a box full of M2C upgrades. She has been babied with a few runs out on my street and in my yard and will get in the rotation when things warm up. I took mine apart after my 1st shakedown and changed diff fluids, shock oil and went through to check the factory work and shim the diffs. My goal is to drive hard and upgrade over time with my 1 6S Basher. I'm looking forward to the series. 👍🏻
Your content is absolutely top quality and some of the very best out there. These build vids are excellent and extremely helpful. And to cap it all you come across as a really decent chap 👍
3900 Kv is incredibly high for 4s and will be destroyed by 6s nearly instantly. You want a maximum of 2200 kv for 6s Preferred kv for 4s is 2650 3900 will get hot on 3s
@@Boogie_the_cat Whoaaaa! I haven't ran it hard yet, just around the driveway... on the hunt for a new motor then, I knew I subbed for a reason! Much appreciated on the fast response and great tip🙏
After a little over one year in the hobby, rollers have become my preferred purchases. I don't need RTR electronics that end up on eBay. My own Tx\Rx, my own servo and a bigger ESC and motor so that they stay cool in sunny California heat. Thanks for sharing your build, AJ.
You got it from somewhere, be it another RTR or purchased from any online store, locally, etc. Those who buy from online stores are also on their own builds... So... !?!? It's ok if you don't want to buy RTR, but sometimes second hand ready-to-runs are a better deal than a roller.
Ever since I learned how to shim my f/r diffs I've also been shimming my center diff because there is usually alot of play side to side so I tend to add one shim front and one shim back but I notice that I'm the only one that does this.
New to the channel..thank you so much for being so thorough..we are also new to the hobby..but hitting it hard and now have 15 vehicles and arrma has been are brand.. so we are now snow bashing and doing this requires so much clean up... we've now started using nylon socks over the components being careful not to cover the steering components.. is this a good idea..what do you recommend for snow bashing ?...and is there a mesh other than nylon socks to use that's better?
The way to know if you need shims on the differential gears, not for the case to shim. Clean the gears, no fluid whatsoever, assemble and tighten as if its going to be installed, rotate back and forth and start shimming until it js not smooth anymore causing binding. Step back one shim and that should be about right, usually is none if its new or one shim. It is time consuming, but when done right will run way smoother once it has diff fluid.
@@AJJAMStudios does that seem to actually stay on the gears a little better then say red n tacky? I’d love to know what the tan colored diff grease that comes stock on the rigs. Thx
I too prefer thinner diff fluids. I hate wheelies and like to be able to drive quickly and aggressively while still being able to have good steering. The thicker fluids in the rear and especially center kind of annoy me for anything except speed runs.
Front heavy due to battery tray placement. Battery has room and holes to move back. Also, the soldiers. Their friend buys a felony,. Hunt, drivelines are swappable from fire team, felony and senton. Mine is now a speed and drifting wide wheel wonder. Fireteam is the best off-road driver, with the most ability to upgrade/change.
Great video!
I LOVE the Fireteam!
Always a blast every time I run it. 👍
Thank you! Glad you love it!😎👍
Love how thorough your videos are! Jealous of your RC workbench too😂 Keep up the great work!!

Sounds like you are making the right moves to keep your basher running strong!
I’m doing the same build “an eBay slider” except mine didn’t come with a center diff…can’t wait to see what direction u go with yours
That is interesting. Make sure you get the correct center diff, a lot of those sliders miss some key parts.

Would check the Diff outdrives if it needs a shim
INSTANT sub! I just my EBay build of a 4s/6s Infraction and it came out incredible, 8bl150 esc, Firms 3900kv motor, 17 mm hubs all for under $488

I will now!😂 -thanks
Grab the f/r diff outputs with your fingers and check for side to side play. -shim if necessary.

That is excellent info. Thank you for sharing with us 😎👍
What kind of grease did you use on the front diff?
He didn’t use grease but oil, silicon oil more specifically. You can get it in different viscosities.
For the outer ring gears we us Lucas Oil white lithium grease.
Diff oil to be sure but we do grease the outer area. Thanks for joining in 😎👍
@FrifjellDrivesRC not the diff oil inside, I’m talking on the outer gear.
Red and tacky isn’t cutting it anymore.

My hobby shop has I think 6 used Fireteam trucks for sale , why do people don’t like them ( you can trade in your car at that store )
