I spoke about the challenges & opportunities
Confronting the nation,
To expand merchandise exports from
$ 437 billion in March 24
To the $ 1 trillion target set for 2030.
I dwelt on 13 main items of export, out of which 7 have done well & 6 have receded from last year.
On imports, I delved into 11 items of which 7 have declined
Leading to Atmanirbhar bharat,
But 4 have expanded where curbs & import substitution possibilities need to be explored.
I spoke about a 7 pronged strategy involving the ministerial & institutional structure overhaul, as it is Abegging a professional approach,
To reach such stiff target in 6 years,
Requiring a 2.5 times jump.
In services exports the task is even tougher as we stand at $339 billion in
March 24, needing a tripling in 6 years, to touch $1 trillion target.
Disruptive technology & action , can alone make both possible,
But current trends, cannot help us to hit the targets.
