@trying to do better I think that is a show that you need to watch from the start, I just looked at the pilot and the end episode and the line, we dug coal together gets nowhere near to Sheldon`s speech or the TBBT story ending. That is still the best ever that I have seen.

If you guys didn't notice,it was Sheldon's mom who helped him realise about super asymmetry when she talked to him before his wedding and just when Sheldon was thinking that he had reached a dead end with his theory,his dad was the one who inspired him again when he watched the tape,in the end his mom and his dad were always there for him even if his dad was dead.

It is, to be honest, a perfect scene. The way that Sheldon delivers the most emotional speech ever in a completely deadpan, serious and yet, in its way, emotional manner, the way that the guys react when they get called out, from the look of total confusion of Raj to the dead serious look of Howard which shows that he recognizes what big deal that "astronaut" is for Sheldon, to the pause before Leonard stands up. It's impossible to write a perfect finale, but this comes so damn close.
I'm actually truly amazed that Jim Parsons made it all the way through this scene without completely losing it. Truly heartfelt and genuine from Dr. Sheldon Cooper.
I loved this scene. This showed so much character devellopment and was a beautiful ending! Especially him finally accepting and acknowledging Howard's astronautship
Ironically, I know the Professor who really DID win the nobel prize in physics in 2019 (Prof Donna Strickland). We tease her A LOT that she stole the prize from Sheldon Cooper. :-)
I can’t say the same. I know I cried the episode where they realized that the Russian paper was only right in one perspective after they saw Sheldon’s dad’s halftime speech. Sheldon starts to tear up and says “Thanks, Dad. We are gonna give him hell.” Complete water works.
Other 2 incidents which would surely made fans cry were 1. Howard shared about his mother's demise 2. Sheldon's Brother clarifying Sheldon about his took responsibilities of his family,while sheldon was away( episode before sheldon's marriage)
The fact that they had Bernedette before him too...so he says "Doctor" twice and during that time I was like "oh please say Astronaut". Automatic smack in the feels to see him show respect like that.
I was filled with so many emotions that I couldn't find a way to react. Sheldon is right, his friends are indeed his other family. His speech acknowledged that while he might not show it in the way that other people do, he cares for his friends in the same way that anyone else does.
No matter how many times I watch the finale, it gets me right in the feels every single time and I turn into a huge puddle of mush. The ending shows so much growth and so much heart.

I didnt cry when sheldon said his speech. I cried when they closed the show with the intro. It was perfect, it was as if their friendship continued as how we know it. So in a way the audience knew what happened after the show ends. Life continues and they grow old as great friends.

Exactly. Came to BBT very late, like, two years ago. Watch reruns sporadically. I literally just watched the entire pilot, tonight. Caught the last five minutes of the finale...it made me tear. Entertainment is amazing when it makes you feel, relate, care. The actors connections and characters bonds parallel...only heightened the emotional stakes! Such a satisfying goodbye. Bravo.
I have never ever cried at a show before not even when I watched the FRIENDS finale for the first time i was also a late fan around season 7-8 and I cried my eyes out at this scene 😢😢

I was wondering if he would say Doctor Wolowitz because at one point he was going for his doctorate with Sheldon as his teacher and we never heard from that again.
This was not just an ending speech ... but an emotional ride ... it brought to mind all the episodes where Sheldon was Just Sheldon ... i m going to miss this show so dearly.
The story should be they go for raj’s wedding in India, and everybody gets invited. And they can catch up with all the story lines that were left open-ended. It should be a least 2 hours.

When I was watching the acceptance speech I thought that it would be beautiful if sheldon invite penny on stage and give her the medal as an honor about all the things he did for the four guys. Because she was the less accomplished but she helped all the characters to evolve themselves.

It is sad to see them end this show. I remember watching this when i was 16 years old and being a kid laughing at all these episode. Now im 26 and kinda seeing how life just moves fast forward.

Exactly. Came to BBT very late, like, two years ago. Watch reruns sporadically. I literally just watched the entire pilot, tonight. Caught the last five minutes of the finale...it made me tear. Entertainment is amazing when it makes you feel, relate, care. The actors connections and characters bonds parallel...only heightened the emotional stakes! Such a satisfying goodbye. Bravo.

When I was watching the acceptance speech I thought that it would be beautiful if sheldon invite penny on stage and give her the medal as an honor about all the things he did for the four guys. Because she was the less accomplished but she helped all the characters to evolve themselves.

I have seen this speech so many times and yet it gets me every time. This is great show that showed how each character grew as the seasons went on.
You don't even know how much I cried at the end of this episode. This was/is my #1 favorite show and the only theme song I have memorized.
