    I know this is an old video but i'm gonna comment anyways. You sound very similar to myself. 1 day I just got the 1911 bug. And said i'm gonna go out and get one. Now i did some research before I went out, the inexpensive and/or the expensive. First shop I walk into is a local shop where I know the people that run the shop well.
    I say hi to them and as I walk up to the first shelf, There is the Ruger in Sr 1911. Sitting there the exact one that you have in this video. I own firearms from multiple different companies and more than 1 or 2 of them are Rugers. I looked at it and within 15 seconds. I said to the shop owner I'll take it. I got a shoulder holster for it from a european company . A craft holster nineteen eleven shoulder holster vertical roto holster. With two magazine backups under the other arm , the right arm. I highly recommend that holster for this pistol. Everything you said in the video was one hundred percent. I think personally this is one of the most stylish nineteen eleven's ever made. Its quality is a hundred percent as well. I picked up this gun and shot better with this right off The bat, than any gun I've ever picked up and I'm a very good shot with other pistols as well. What i'm saying is is that it took a lot of practice with other pistols to get good with them, this pistol is like a third arm. And the trigger on it is excoptional . if anybody says otherwise , they have no idea what a good trigger is. you can quote me on that. Also like you were saying in the video the finish of the gun, It's deep cuts in the slide, the beautiful wooden grips, exceptional.

      I’m glad you have had an awesome experience with it. Mine has never let me down, never been fussy with any ammo. It’s just a well built, slightly customized 1911. Now if we could just get Ruger to stop raising their prices…but anyway, I’m glad you like it! I still have mine.

    The sights are steel and authentic Novac sights.
    The target model has ambi safeties, but you lose the 3 dot sights.
    Ruger has set the standard for customer service. I've sent in a couple of handguns and they repaired them for free. Turn around time was a couple of weeks.

    Nice review, I have the SR1911SS 10mm Target. The very first time at the range, I tried five different ammos. Blazer aluminum case, Sellier&Bellot, Armscor, Sig Sauer and Underwood. All FMJ, of course. The Ruger's performance was flawless with every one of them. And there was no need to adjust the fully adjustable sights, our range is 40 ft max and that's where I started. Are there better 1911s out there? Yes, there are but for the money Ruger gets my vote. BTW, that same day I also was firing my other 10mm. It would ONLY fire the Blazer aluminum and the very expensive Underwood. About 600 rounds later, the RIA High-Capacity is almost broken in.

    For an OWB holster the El Paso Saddelry "Tortilla" with a thumbreak for that added bit of safety carrying cocked & locked is the best I've ever found. Great leather, rides high & tight to the body & you can get them plain, basket weave, fish scale etc engraved. I always get Basketweave & man they are tough & don't show any wear compared to the plain leather ones. For IWB I have found the DeSanti "Cozy Partner" to be the best. Leather also, full sweat guard, two snaps that go over the belt so you don't have to undress to put on & off. Plus they have wings on the sides of the bottom of the holster to keep them in position on your body. They make them in 2 sizes, I use one for my short barreled 3" Colt "Defender" & my Springfield EMP 3" 9mm also. The other holds my full size 1911's PLUS fits all 3 of my Browning Hi-Powers to boot. Thee most comfy & only IWB holster I can wear all day without discomfort. Those 2 DeSanti "Cozy Partner" holsters hold 5 of my 6 --- 1911's & 3 Browning Hi-Powers with total comfort. 8 pistols with just 2 holsters. P.S. never stick a beautiful 1911 in a plastic / Kydex / Tupperware holster !! The 1911 Gods will be waiting for you at the gates for Blasphemy my friend.

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @travisp11

      The Ruger American is a semi auto pistol available in 9mm. It has a polymer and metal build and holds more rounds than the SR1911 which is an all metal pistol chambered in .45ACP or 10mm. Go to the gun store and pick out the one that you think will serve you best.

    Nice case. My sr1911 cmd came in the ol’ box. Looked all over the web including Ruger but can’t find a case like the one you have. Case looks like the same as fn fnx 45 acp comes in. Obvious it’s for fnx not for the sr1911. You where lucky with the additional case. Good deal and informative vid. Thanx !

      Ruger had the cases for sale on their website a few months ago on thier website. These may have been a limited run because every other ruger that I have ever purchased came in the same cardboard white box.

      This will be the 3rd sr1911. Standard, cmd, and officer 45 acp. The commander (cmd) is on order. Expecting it end of this week - in probably, you guessed it , a cardboard box. That’s ok, it’s what’s in the box that counts ! Thanx on the response.
