THANKS!
As a New Yorker, a shitty hot dog in Time Square at 1am when everything is wet is what the experience is about. And thr folding the pizza? I'm literally so proud of my terrible city since you're actually experiencing NYC
exactly, the shittiness hits like home in this video.
I keep saying imma move to florida or something but i just cant leave this shithole cause of the experiences yk 😂
It enrages me that people have this image that everyone in the city are rude and uncaring; new yorkers are dumb, weird, strange, odd, crazy and absolutely wonderful. You can get indoctrinated into a cult one day, pet a lynx drinking brews and smoking piff with a stranger the next and have an 84 year old gma drive you to Canada while talking about her life as an escort in the 70s when you miss your flight
Love you nyc ❤
@@SadiaIslam-zd4nudon’t move to florida, it just gets worse down here 😭😭
New York is a shit show and a shit show it will be. Glad to live right outside of the city I love going to Times Square it sucks but it makes it all better when a man in an Elmo suit can always make you feel right at home for pestering you for a photo 😂
It made me really happy to see you come around my city. You picked some really great well-known places to start, but the more you come back, you start to find other out-of-the-way great places and some hidden gems.
For next time: pizza at Spumoni Gardens, Greek food in Astoria, Wo Hop and soup dumplings in Chinatown, chocolate babka at Breads or Andre’s, Bier and Cheese (for beer and cheese), Sicilian food at Joe’s of Avenue U, weird ice cream flavors at Oddfellows, fried chicken and pancakes at Bubby’s… I could go on. But two days of food in NYC just isn’t enough. See you when you get back, dude.
There’s a place called emily they say that its the best burger
@@jimmykhoury167 emily is great, my personal favorite is a small spot called Nobody Told Me on the upper west side. My fav burger of all time. 7th street burger is also incredible
@@michaellopez1314 i wanna go to ny just to try those burgers:p
Personally i dont care for spumoni... My old job used to order it for pizza parties (woo....) and it was a little too doughy for me
Can you cook a dish from Bangladesh called Fuchka it is basically a food with a circular hard biscuit shell with fried onions hot sauce parsley and salt with coriander and garlic
His face eating the cookie was priceless lmao💀
he looked like he was about to cry like the guy from ratatouille
@@alexandermexquititla493 exactly I really thought he was gonna cry
Love you gave the pastrami a 10! It comes from Romanian Jewish immigrants -- no wonder you felt it in your soul
W Romanian food 💪🏻🇷🇴
No wonder he called it jew-cy haha...
@@paulmedesan9620 I’m Jewish and that joke was…
@@Toastisyummy124 juicy like the pastrami
@@paulmedesan9620 I know
It was funny joke
I went to New York once when I was 16 or so, as a European it was very overwhelming. Massive buildings, massive food portions but the food is overall delicious and the service is great (even though we aren't used to people constantly refilling our drinks, I zoned out once and didn't realize i drank like 4 cups of coffee). My mum wanted us to walk as much as possible, so one day we walked like 20-30 blocks because my mum thought it would only take 30 mins....we were walking for 2 hours. Great experience 10/10 and I am also a Knicks fan as a result (also katz diner is fire).
A great year to be a Knicks fan which is strange to say
Your channel gives me very good vibes, it's basically the good old youtube style from 2015 with a few modern elements and I'm all for that!
Dude when you had that cookie your face looked like you had an out of body experience and transcended into heaven.
Loved this video from start to end!
You're probably back in Romania at this point but if you ever find your way back to NYC you should head on over to Xi'an Famous Foods! It's a local chain that makes some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. Also if you want to try a lot of diverse cuisines head out to Queens, in particular the Jackson Heights area. There's a lot of different immigrant cultures there (primarily Ecuadorian, Thai, Indian, Nepalese, and Filipino) and all that food is fantastic.
Doesn't he live in the Netherlands?
@@mbi.studio oh oops, I didn't know that! He mentions he's from Romania so I assumed he still lived there.
I'm a devout foodie, & I love the fact you can get foods of all different ethnicities at any hour of the day in NYC. I'm living in the Pacific Northwest now & I would kill for NYC Chinese food. I started making Chinese food at home because they don't make the same dishes I'm used to eating. Also, I miss French food. Whenever I go to NYC, those two ethnicities are top of my list.
Hey, is Kwook from Romania?!
As someone who lives in Seattle, it's nice to see someone not used to rain experience a constant downpour 😂although here, I find it quite relaxing. Also that pizza looks costco sized!!
omg that's so true. couldn't be happier to see our 2 months of sun roll around lol
I visited a friend in Seattle & he complained about the constant rain.
To me, coming from South Florida where we get torrential rains, Seattle just had a mist.
I actually loved it.
the rice rolls are called 'cheung fun' in chinese. they are so good!
Cheong fun my beloved
Wow Kevin, this was a great video and it was especially cool to see you trying street food in a big city. I’ve desired to go to NYC for a while and am gonna get to in a couple months so I’ll definitely take a look at the places you went
You are Mexican at heart amigo. You love our food! Go to Mexico some time!
yes he definitely needs to go to mexico
I would love to get mexico but its just way to dangerous. Why go to mexico when you can pay a tiny bit more and go to Costa Rica or somewhere safe.
@@chad2522 there are plenty of safe areas, don’t fall for the media hype. Many Americans are moving to Mexico
@@birdworldist rich ones get move to gated communities. If Mexico was so safe everyone would stay right? Totally not leaving because they totally don’t feel safe at their own homes because of gangs no? Why have millions crossed the border into the USA? Because Mexico is a unsafe 3rd world country. Good culture though.
@@chad2522 tf u talking about? mexico city is pretty safe and most of touristic areas are as well. dangerous cities are borther ones like Tijuana, Nuevo Laredo, Culiacan. How com mexico be that dangerous and still be the 6th largest tourism country
You should try 'ethnic' food spots like the countless places in China Town/Flushing, Hallal Food carts etc. A really unique place is the Turkish Bath House and the attached cafe.
Ha! Me and my brother got into an argument because I was certain we saw you at the MOMA turns out you were in nyc! Glad you had a good time in my city despite the weather- Joe's pizza is totally overrated Percy's pizza which is 5 mins away is way better and a quarter of the price
One thing I'm really glad you showcased is how friendly and outgoing new yorkers tend to be! I feel like people in new york being cold and rude is a common stereotype and I've just never found it to be true.
When you come back, hit up Queens. Great food areas like Astoria, Flushing, Forest Hills, Jackson Heights, Whitestone, and more.
Very nice of you to give us content, even while you're on vacation. Made my day to see you with what makes you happy about food.
PS: Gonna go make a roast beef sandwich now. Thx
1:26
Damn, that's one cinematic-ass shot.
New Yorker here. You undoubtedly had the foods that we're known for except for the hood staple, the Chopped Cheese
Good Ole choppers cheese
Hey kevin! I just got your cookbook after having it on pre order since december! Its really good, definitely recommend it. So far ive made the chicken fajita pasta and the bean burgers! ❤
"That guy was great. I love that guy. Shoutout to that guy."
-Kevin 2023
Twice as well lol
Shout out to that guy
I think one of the best things about NYC is that you can eat at a new Restaurant everyday. Diversity is insane..💯🥂
The cookie made him feel things man😭😂 it looked rlly gooowd💗
What would be cool is if he did a series on going to different states and having people suggest what restaurants to go to and rate.
I think Josh Weissman did that on his channel
This was a really fun video. I enjoyed watching you eat different types of street food. That bagel looked delicious.
and yet, mexican food keep getting perfect score! it's always a 10/10! Hope you can come to mexico one day and try authentic mexican food my dude!
Yeah New York likes to pretend they invested all the beat food. Mexican food in new york is absolute dog shit.
He better! It's cheap to fly from NYC to Mexico City if he was inclined to go there. :D
It's not like pretty damn authentic Mexican food isn't available in the US. Especially out West.
Love watching your channel grow! Great video. 😊
i love these types of videos.please do more street food vlog.
❤
I'm visiting America FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME this summer! Can't wait!
That's very exciting, welcome! Just something to keep in mind, most of the country is not like NYC. Either way, hope you have a great time!
@@shinypineconeyes, all of the country isn't one of the biggest, richest most dense cities on earth lol. Even Europe and other countries have rural areas and sprawl. Of course it is true alot of the US is more spread out and car centric.
"The land of all possibilities if youre very rich"
😅
Just like most other big cities in rich countries.
Love street food and your videos! Love from colombia!❤❤❤
Hey Kwook, i am Shourya Roy ,12 years old male and live in Maharashtra, India, i am in 7'th grade but have a fascination for ethnic food and i am in love with your videos(i wish my mother-Sanjana, could make some different ethnic food but she apparently can't).Can you please please please make Aalo luchi dum(आलु लूची दम) or rice with a spicy gravy of potato and cauliflower (आलू गोबी की सब्जी). Both of them are easily 11/10, you lil fan's request. I wish i could mee you some day, i want to be a chef and you are my role model cuz you cook delicious food with ease in a simple way that i am able to understand and narrate it to my Mom.
Love these style of videos from you buddy
The second item you tried - steamed rolls - are none other than Vietnamese "banh cuon". Ok, there are various versions in Asia, but banh cuon is my fave. Brilliant! Slippery and slimy big yummy
Your videos dough not ever disappoint.
Great Work Bro ❤
I'd love to one day have a food trip in New York, especially after watching this!
At 2:45. You LOVE proper Mexican food (all the dishes you've eaten that were done the proper Mexican way end up 10/10 with you) and properly-cooked beans. So I figured your preferences lean more toward the acid/savory side of things. American donuts tend to go to the really sweet/fatty side of things, which is the opposite of what you love in the foods you most enjoy.
I love this man's vibes and energy so much😂😂😍😍😍
You can see how emotional it was to have the first bite of that taco!! 🤩💯
I was waiting for you to come to my city & try it! I'm glad you finally made it!
Next bagel you get, i'd recommend either just cream cheese, a bacon egg and cheese (you gotta say it all as one word "baconeggncheese"), or Lox & cream cheese. All 3 of these bagel combos are amazing and I'd recommend trying La Bagel Delight, they have 4 locations in Brooklyn and they roll their own fresh bagels every day.
Juliana's is one of the best pizza spots in the city, definitely recommend.
Have you ever tried a bagel with whitefish? Yummy. I like it better than Lox.
My Paternal Grandfather used to make bagels & really big soft pretzels. He would bring us 2 grocery bags with fresh, hot bagels & pretzels every Sunday morning. There's nothing like a bagel straight out of the oven!
@@dee_dee_place I do truly love a bagel with whitefish, but everytime I go to a bagel place, cream cheese always wins. I can't resist it. Especially if they whip their own cream cheese in house
Lots of places in NYC make fresh bagels everyday don't they?
Glad you liked the rice rolls so much, staple Chinese food especially here in Hong Kong!
I think you must visit Argentina. Very cheap, BUT really great food... so, it's worth it!
You will find of the best meats in the world at very low prices.
But you can find empanadas with various fillings, there are lots of sweet things like torta frita, pastelitos. Due to italian inmigration and influence, Pizzas are strong point (it has more pizzerias than Italy), also Pasta is really great. Argentina is the home of the best hot dog of the world, the Choripan. Of course, the star it's going to be an Asado, with all the sides (chorizo, morcilla, salchicha parrillera, provoleta, etc)
Omg the second item is my FAVOURITE! It's called 肠粉 (I think it's called rice roll in English). I'm happy that he gave it a high rating!
street food in new york city is a culinary delight that has taken the world by storm
I'm a Bkyln Gal & these would be my recommendations:
Bagel with white fish,
Black & White cookies,
Hot Chestnuts.
Potato Knish,
Kishka,
Corn Beef Sandwich,
Poppa's Pizza,
Cherrystone Clams on the half shell &/or Little Neck clams in garlic & oil.
Chinese food- bbq ribs, egg rolls, egg drop soup with wontons, fried rice, & of course- pistachio ice cream
Would love for you to do a México City en Oaxaca trip, o think your mind will be blown by everything Mexico has to offer next to tacos (although al pastor will always be my fav)
You captured the classic NYC food very well
Where I live we have something called the Crab festival and thats pretty much the only time you can buy that vendor style food. Some of it is alright, it doesn't beat eating fresh dungeoness crab or red salmon though.
I love the calming music playing while he's eating the cookie lmao
I've only seen you in my youtube shorts, but I'm loving the vlog format
New York does not have many good taco places but I spent 10 days there and you went to best taco place!! It’s one of the best tacos I’ve had and great choice with al pastor. Given you have rated tamales, chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, and other Mexican foods 9-10 in some of your cooking videos, not surprised you loved al pastor tacos!
yo first! love your videos man. how about bringing back more broke students' recipes. gonna move out soon for my college and I'd love to have healthy options!! keep the good work up man! ❤️
Pastrami looks amazing and that cookie at the end wow great video
Thanks for a very nice video of New York City 24 Hour Street Food 👍
Taste the delicious food and feel the beauty of life.
Was in New York October last year. Pizza was amazing, even the ones that cost $1. Had a few run ins with some crazy people hurling curse words at me (even stole a plushie from my wifes bag). Lots of homeless people and the subways smelled sooooo bad. Other than that, I recommend people to visit at least once. Just be careful and avoid scam traps (rickshaw drivers, lame comedy tickets being sold on the street etc)
Sounds like you only went to Manhattan.
Sounds like Manhattan. Real New Yorkers live in the other boroughs where we don't put up with that crap on a daily basis. Though we flock to Manhattan for the food and events since it's so lively. But if you want a real sense of community and history it's all rich in Brooklyn/Queens/Bronx.
did you take this on Saturday/sunday? the weather was awful on sat
If i’m getting pastrami, I get russian, not mustard but that’s a matter of personal preference
I love Los Tacos No 1. They also have a location in chelsea market called Los Mariscos which is focused on fish tacos. sooooo good
THIS MADE MY MOUTH WATER! great vid
That pastrami sandwich
Glad you had a good time in NY dude!
Los tacos no 1 could be the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life honestly that pork one is insane
I've been to Los Tacos before and with a giant group of family friends with the pouring rain and rush to eat so we wouldn't be late for a show it was actually the best experience ever-
soooo professional editing!
That cinematic shot 🔥
That bit of the "cinematic ass shot" made me follow, love the humor!
Levain bakery is one of those places that is worth it. Unfortunately i am allergic to walnuts so I can’t have the classic one. But the chocolate peanut butter chip was devine.
As a New Yorker I I truly believe that Murray’s bagels has the best bagels in the world
Salmon with cream cheese and capers on a bagel is one of the best sandwich combinations of all time.
I can sense that that cookie hit BEYOND the spot
Thank You for sharing New York City dishes.
Idk what do I have to give to be able to teleport and try food from over the world without the hassle of traveling
Oh that looks amazing!
Pretty surprised when you liked the Levain cookie... They were meh for me when I tried oatmeal raisin and caramel coconut chocolate (dumped the latter one halfway...). Maybe should give choco chip walnut one a try... Their cold brew was the best one I've ever had though.
Hi there! New Yorker here. I would just like to recommend a place for Cuban food in NYC called Sophie’s. Awesome place for street food although idk what would qualify as street food I live off of pizza and bagels 😂
“New York City: a place of infinite possibilities- if you’re rich”; “bright lights, a kind of functional subway system”😂Still, this made me nostalgic for that food
My sister goes to school in nyc and my family loves going to Katz’s for the pastrami sandwich. Best ever
using this as a guide for when I go to NYC
It was great, I enjoyed it
Loving the cook book!!!!
My man was getting emotional when he tasted that cookie, it was that good 😂
I like your videos 👍👍👍 thank you for sharing ❤
On an ordinary day, Katz's can be absolute hell due to the lines, but it's somewhat decent if you're hungry.
Los Tacos No. 1 is one of my favorites though. Levain, on the other hand, is massive and requires a good angle of attack whenever you bite into the cookie.
You should include the prices for everything.
Bagel: $54
Rice rolls: $54
Pastrami sandwich: $54
Hot dog: $54
Cookie: $54
Pizza: $54
@@coachmcguirk6297 Newyork definitely breaks the bank.
you done messed up by not visiting grays papayas for the hot dogs. their hot dogs are grilled and when you bite into it it crunches omg. and you missed out on their papaya or pineapple juices. this place is AMAZIN
I was looking for this comment. Gray’s Papaya is awesome! But it’s about 30 blocks north of Times Square, so not so convenient for him at the time.
bagel, cheong fun, baked goods, pizza, Katz, hot dog, you did good for one day. Since I moved away about 17 years ago and haven't tried these I would have added a Halal cart chicken over rice plate
"objectively its not great. but in the context..." is how to describe America! im glad you had an authentic experience here!
Very nice content, really like it!
That part with the pastrami was so wholesome
Places that you should try for your next NYC food visit: this proper Hong Kong dim sum place on Canal Street and Mott Street called "Royal Seafood." The only people who go there are old Chinese people, especially women. So you know it's authentic and not a tourist trap. Delicious, fresh dim sum. Another place is a taco truck in Williamsburg called "Birria-Landia Tacos." Muah! The most delicious tacos I've ever had. Up there with Los Tacos No. 1 in terms of taste. But their birria broth--damn. Finger-licking good!
can you make an Australian breakfast with Avocado vegemite toast with hash browns, Australian bacon, fried eggs in a bun? i cant make a good one myself and it woukld be sick if you did that
Harsh on the bagel. Seemed like a perfect breakfast
i never liked ny but eating fast food in some random corners of the city? such a vibe
Looks like all the things I'd recommend trying apart from a halal cart! Maybe chinatown in some of the underground spots.
Chicken and rice in white sauce mmmmmmmm
This guy just seems like a pleasant dude to be around. Regardless of whether or not he likes something, he's always got this positive air about him
24 Hours Of Street Food in New York City easy to buy and fast to buy and delicious
Katz' pastrami sandwich is HANDSDOWN the best sandwhich I've ever had!!!
Bagel is too firm to be eaten as a sandwich with various fillings. Just a dab of cream cheese is fine.
Unless it’s a bacon egg and cheese
Hey! You need to try and review Kaladi Kulcha from Jammu in India. It's out of this world
What a feast for the eyes man 🤩 Would love to see prices for all those things you eat!
Bro you should have gone to the ramen place in times square its AMAZING
