Her desire is linked to feeling left out by her peers, but unlike "D.W.'s Very Bad Mood," she isn't malicious or mean-spirited in her desire. She doesn't want to take bike-riding away from anyone else. She just wants to be able to do so herself. She's not disruptive when it comes to actually learning, as opposed to "D.W. Flips." When her father says he can't teach her, her crying comes across as genuine disappointment rather than a tantrum like "Castaway." She's genuinely curious when Arthur teaches her and listens to most of his instructions without arguing or complaining, and even her disruption of Arthur's practice for the bike-a-thon allows him to refresh his own skills. When it comes to the training wheels, D.W. is much more sympathetic than usual in her diligence to learn.
