Maybe I would need to start a new hobby to justify a head light. Trail running, night fishing or gold mining etc.
Thank you for the review. This one looks so nice.

Interesting that they use SST20 as the floody emitter. I suppose it's all taken care of by the optic.
Hope you could get a chance to check out/review the Wurkkos HD15, which uses a 5000K SST20 for spot and 5000K LH351D for flood.

Hey Cheule - have you considered including some kind of run-time analysis in your reviews? For me, especially for a headlamp, I don’t really care about peak numbers. I want to know what’s the max sustained output that the light can sustain basically indefinitely - until it runs out of power.
It’s all well and good if these headlamps can put out a billion lumens for 10 seconds, but I’m interested in setting it to medium and having X lumens for an hour while I work on something or while out for a hike etc. Don’t feel like max sustained output gets enough airtime in the flashlight community.

Second this^ I came to the comments to ask after run time as well.

@@davidbrackett5832 go to 1lumen for that info, they always include that. Can't do everything when making video reviews as editing takes ages. My reviews take 20+ hrs

Yes I agree sustained run time is most important to me too.

This is great feedback. As Piercing the Darkness pointed out, I don’t want these videos to run on forever (they’re already longer than I’d like) so I intentionally don’t do every kind of test. I think in a print medium it’s much easier to skip sections you don’t want, and I try to only include the things I think relevant to each light. (Notice I don’t do DUV measurements on throwers, or 100m beam shots on head lamps)
But again, thanks for the suggestion, I’ll think about it!

@@PiercingTheDarkness Thanks for the referral, I do always enjoy consuming reviews in video format, but the raw data in the review on 1lumen and ZeroAir has been really helpful for me on this.

Are you double clicking on the Sofirn to get turbo? Its High is roughly 350 lm, but turbo is much higher

    • @cheule
      @cheule  2 ปีที่แล้ว

You’re absolute right. I forgot there was a double tap on the SP40. 950 lumens.

Just subbed. Great review. Wondering what your longterm feelings are on it. I just watched your Fenix 50(something…tiny battery) review; where you brought this up with regards to weight and headband comfort. I’m in the market for a new headlamp, as my old Led Lenser has a non-removable battery that is starting to see the end of its lifecycle of charges.
Would love to see a review of the Fenix HM60R. That’s pretty much the Fenix equivalent to this guy. If I did buy this…I would probably be tempted to replace the headband with a Fenix headband.
    Cheers

It is built like a tank, and I still use it. But it’s definitely chonk. If I’m wearing a headlamp for extended time, smaller headlamps might be favorable.

Hey there, I'm researching headlamps with a High CRI flood for a friend that does permanent makeup tattoos and of course accurate colors are important. Personally, I love what I saw about the HS6R, but I'm thinking it has way more features than she needs and it might be a bit heavy and cause neck pain after tattooing for 2-4 hours at a time. Do you know of any other headlamps that I should look at? Thanks and as always, keep up the great reviews.

Zebralight headlamps! They take a beating, are very small for their size and are high cri. Simplified “press and hold for L M H” style UIs.

@@cheule Cool, did not notice that, hence the comment, since the video seemed to imply at ~07:20 that they claimed 1400lm for spot alone. In any case, have been enjoying your detailed reviews: picked up one of these, along with the sekonic, based on them.
