Charlotte playing the world's happiest safety announcer in a Scottish accent, saying "Clap with me, click with me!" and then being embarrassed to the point of hiding her face for like 2 minutes straight is probably the single most adorable moment in TM history, bumping Alice's headband utensil failure into second place.
As a non-german speaking person. It feels like foreigners faking a german accent is one of the easier ones. British and german feels like two of the easier ones. What do you as a german think?
@@andreaskarlsson5251 It was not just about the accent. The thing was that the sentences made quite a lot of sense and you could understand actually all the words, even if some of the sentences were a bit mumbo jumbo by times, the individual words were understandable
Sarah’s calm and collected exterior contrasted with incomprehensible screaming and gibberish is vividly reminiscent of my internal monologue while completing any task irl
isn't it incredible they aired THAT task before this one? Imagine they showed this one first, we would have missed one of the greatest lines of the series
Sarah wins. It's safety demonstration we're not listening to properly due to our majorly panicking inner voice self drowning it out.. somehow she captured it perfectly. Epic
When I went on a trip involving lots of planes, this task was in my head lmao Charlotte's "clap with me, click with me, off we go!" was especially in mind haha
@@comedyplate AFAIK "to stan something" comes from Eminmen's song "Stan", where he speaks about a fan who's too much into the thing he likes. "Don't be such a Stan" would mean "don't be like that guy from the song who thinks the artist he admires owes him something". On the other hand, some people now take "Stan" to mean "I would be really into it".
It would be nice if this series was able to get a redo with a live audience and everything. They were clearly committed to the tasks, but the energy in the studio was understandably off with all the distancing and the smaller group to bounce off.
Hearing the German announcement and reading the English subtitles was quite funny, because there are some mistakes in the translation that made me think editors must have actually tried to decipher what he was saying to translate it 😂
As a layperson, this is more great Taskmaster content. As a sign language interpreter with an interest in adaptive linguistics, I'm very interested to see how the contestants with an additional spoken language were able to convey an additional layer of meaning visually (through gestures and mime).
After hearing the task I thought about what accent or language I might have tried… then I remembered that I’m in fact very German and don’t have an issue performing in another language than English at all 🤦🏻♀️😅
This is made even better with the correct translation of a couple of mike's sentences 😂he is saying that the seatbelt can go 'over trousers, over a skirt, or over your eyes *if you don't want to watch your own death*.' Also he wants 'meat with cheese'
True but it's really hard to beat series 7 with the Insanity of James acaster and Phil Wang and the rest. And series 14 was pretty flipping hard to beat with Sarah Millican and Fern Brady and Dara O'Briein
It's hard to remember when the pilot sounds like he took too many Ambien and sudden turbulence has your ass up around your ears, but Lee's take is absolutely right: Once you're in the air you are completely helpless, so there is no reason to be nervous or worried. Que sera sera.
In the end Greg judged the task based on how comforting each contestant was. But that was not the task! The task was to perform "the best" and "most unforgettable" safety announcement, "comforting" was never mentioned. If you want to judge it based on that aspect, better make sure your contestants understand the rules beforehand.
Yeah I agree, he should have stuck to the 'best/most unforgettable' criteria, but I'm glad he at least scored it on a system where the 'lowest' still gets 3 points because they were all good. The only change I'd make is putting Sarah ahead of Jamali
Tbh that still doesn't change anything. I'd have scored it Mike, Charlotte, Jamali, Sarah, Lee, which is basically what happened but Sarah and Lee both got 3 points while Charlotte and Jamali got 4
Surprised they didn't hire Charlotte to do that kids version of Taskmaster given how thoroughly she was cast in that role here. Haven't seen it, and I'm sure Rose is fine in the role, just funny that the stars didn't align to make the threat of a 'children's TV presenter' become true.
When I watch tasks I like to imagine how I would solve them and usually I wish I could do them because I think I would do well but I am thankful I don’t have to do this one. I am absolutely terrible at putting on accents, I can’t say more than like 5 words before the accent turns to mush. And most of the time I can’t say even 1 word. I can say the accent in my head but then when I try to actually replicate those sounds with my mouth, it’s just my normal accent. The only other language I kinda know is Japanese but I would probably sound like Jamali as I know no words related to flying except for “airport” and “airplane”. I feel like I probably would end up attempting an accent that sounds very stereotypical and offensive and I’ll probably only be able to say like 2 words in said accent before it falls apart. Or I’d do it in Japanese and for any words I don’t know I’ll just say the English word in a Japanese accent and hope it’s correct. Japanese does have a lot of English loan words.

(Also tried to say tassel in English, I think, but said Tasse, which is a cup or mug.) And breathe very usually (you'd say normal, not normalerweise.) If you have kids, no luck! The contrast between Charlotte’s friendly absurdity & Sarah’s incomprehensible gibberish absurdity was utterly delightful.
Sarah's still sticks in my head. I love the contrast of a pretty standard safety demonstration with her voiceover.
AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaah!!!!!
Yes!! One of my fav moments from the season! I always thought it was a bit underrated.
Such hilarious discrepancy between the video and the audio.

So what accent are you going to go with on your next safety demonstration? :)
As a pro, how would you rate their attempts?
well thats why it would suck , being really good at a task and doing it the proper way defeats the purpose of the program
I suggest you do your annoucement in sarah's accent next

Charlotte needs a "childrens presenter moments" compilation.
One of us should make one, especially since the whole series is available to everyone on TH-cam
I love the English to French subtitling.
This highlight again proofs to me that I definitely need Charlotte as a children's TV presenter. I would stan that programme
Stan it? Is that an expression I don't know? Or a typo? If it's a British expression or something, I like it, but I don't know what it means, exactly.
Make it a crime drama where she's playing a children's tv presenter who's also a murderer

0:22 Just realized how much Sarah reminded me of Julie Hagerty as Elaine in "Airplane!" the instant she stepped in frame. (It's the hair.)
I laughed to tears with the 2 girls demonstration. the quiet/the panicking...
I think this is one of the greatest tasks ever made
This was one of my top five favorite tasks, & I think Lee was undeservedly demoted in it.
"All the instructions are on the task." Maybe if he'd used his Welsh accent?

This is one of my favourite tasks and I’m not completely sure why but I love it
sometimes the best task is when everybody does amazing and one person is just that little bit better
Sarah was robbed, it was easily the most unforgettable one and miles better then everyone else’s except maybe Mike
But... was it a safety announcement?
Sarah is a comedic genius 😂

That german was horrific; I love it!
It wasn't actually THAT bad. He had some good words.
Mike was so loveable in that series!
Lee must have gone first - the phone is missing for everyone else. Lessons learned.
