Amazes me that the Family doesn't get hurt more often (especially the fearless children!), but injuries are surely an inherent aspect of an adventurous lifestyle? Good thing here that your hardy sons have grown up. And no surprise to any fan that this family rallies together. Sending well wishes for your full recovery.

far out ! this ''episode" made my day ! it was an absolute pleasure to watch !! I once fell in the mountains in the south of spain...it was bad...I broke my tailbone and disclocated it as well. It was such a struggle to get to the centre de salud.....and with no insurance it was really difficult to get an x ray...but finally got it with the help of a local'. A german woman, an expert ostheopath ,fixed my back bit by bit, so I was okey after a couple of months. I dont think you broke your ankle, but they should have helped you out . the spanish can be so fussy about the rules and money. thank you for sharing this video. All the best to your family.
Thank you so much! It's "just" an ankle sprain but the ligaments were completely torn apart. Luckily no fracture. Yes, health care is bureaucratic in Europe and strictly excluding people who do not fulfill the formalities.

It was so sad to see you with a sprained ankle. The boys helped you a lot, very unselfishly. I'm sorry the medical facility did not help you. I don't know spanish so I don't know what she told you but it was obvious she turned you down. However, you doctored yourself pretty good with the makeshift cast. It brought tears to my eyes. :( This was a good video even though I don't understand why you and your family put yourselves through so much deprivation. Thanks for documenting everything and I wish you quick and complete recovery.

Mal asunto...Seguro que fueron a una clìnica privada en alguna zona turistica. Ahì si no enseñas la cartera,no tienes maneras. Pero aquí, en Canarias y resto de España, la Sanidad Nacional ( Seguridad Social) le da cobertura sanitaria a todo el que la necesite venga de donde venga. Se supone que es asistencia urgente como es vuestro caso. Saludos. Espero lo hayan pasado bien.

18:50 pues me parece muy mal que no te allá prestado servicio sanitario cuando en españa la sanidad es universal y a los migrantes subsaharianos y marroquíes que no pertenecen a la ue les dan revisión médica y últimamente estancia en balneario de 5 Estrellas como acogida pagado por el estado español. Pero que le negaran ustedes ciudadanos europeos la sanidad es muy denunciable.
For me it was difficult to watch this video. I thought you were from Europe? You have no European health card? All that walking on the ankle I was worried that it could have been permanently damaged. Was it not possible to get a ride or taxi to the clinic, don´t people help? You guys are always climbing things. I have been to or lived in some of the countries you travel in and the public system may -attend- to you but there might not be an xray machine, medicines, or even doctors in the hospital. Free and adequate health care is not the norm.
Quite some people in Europe have no health card. It's a taboo subject because (Western) Europeans are proud of their health system and don't want to hear about the fact that a part of the population completely lacks access to it. The truth is that without health card, you are better off in the Americas. Even in the States they have solutions for that case. Luckily, my ankle has recovered completely within four months and now I am hiking again.

No me ayudaron. Al contrario, incluso recibieron ayuda de mí. Me pidieron que tradujera para un turista anciano que no hablaba español.

18:50 pues me parece muy mal que no te allá prestado servicio sanitario cuando en españa la sanidad es universal y a los migrantes subsaharianos y marroquíes que no pertenecen a la ue les dan revisión médica y últimamente estancia en balneario de 5 Estrellas como acogida pagado por el estado español. Pero que le negaran ustedes ciudadanos europeos la sanidad es muy denunciable.

For me it was difficult to watch this video. I thought you were from Europe? You have no European health card? All that walking on the ankle I was worried that it could have been permanently damaged. Was it not possible to get a ride or taxi to the clinic, don´t people help? You guys are always climbing things. I have been to or lived in some of the countries you travel in and the public system may -attend- to you but there might not be an xray machine, medicines, or even doctors in the hospital. Free and adequate health care is not the norm.
Quite some people in Europe have no health card. It's a taboo subject because (Western) Europeans are proud of their health system and don't want to hear about the fact that a part of the population completely lacks access to it. The truth is that without health card, you are better off in the Americas. Even in the States they have solutions for that case.
Luckily, my ankle has recovered completely within four months and now I am hiking again.
