- Join us on an unforgettable journey through the enchanting landscapes of Southern Serbia. In this video, we delve deep into the real Serbia, trekking through picturesque scenery, visiting abandoned villages, sleeping outside, and preparing meals on a gas stove.
Serbia is a country from another time, populated by people with another charisma: beautiful, helpful, and spirited. We felt exceptionally welcome in this country.
By the end of this journey, our boys left us for the first time to go their own ways for a while. Here you can see them travel in Greece and Portugal.

Nice to see The Family again, looking healthy! The environs of this country and your rudimentary way of experiencing them are fascinating-- typical Www. The forests, the hills, the springs, the rural towns, all charming. That tick, dreadful! The boys set off on an adventure, intrepid as always. (Sad thing is, they are getting old, may seek their own paths...) The gals depart too-- leaving poor Papa alone at the end! But I expect you will be back together soon.
You are so right, it is sad to see them go! But we still do journeys together, too. I guess we will have both in the next few years, journeys with and without them.
I want to travel like them 😭😭.

Nunca se sabe lo que pasa, por supuesto, pero no tenemos el plan de establecernos en algún sitio. Es curioso, porque casi todos los viajeros de larga duración que hemos conocido esperan encontrar algún día el lugar perfecto donde establecerse y ser felices. Pero nosotros somos tan felices cuando somos libres y cuando no sabemos dónde estaremos mañana.
Welcome back Worldwidewild and wonderful! Looks like your visit to Serbia was filled with surprises and a good time. Except all of you seem to be going through some really wild times. I think the boys learned to fend for themselves like you do and I'm sure their trip was great. It appears the little blond girl got a tick or some kind of bug in her ear but you got her to the hospital to get it cleared out. I could never sleep on the ground like you all do. Oh well, different strokes for different folks. Are ever going to give up this globetrotting and settle down in your own home with proper running water and warm comfortable beds?
Sleeping on the ground is an art on its own. It took me many nights and a lot of try and error to find out the tricks. I need a very specific curvature of the ground. Preparation is key. Then I can even sleep on the blank ground without mat.
We still don't have any plans of settling down. We enjoy the traveling that much. It gives us just the right mix and balance we need to be happy: many new impressions, a feeling of freedom, and profound peace when we are in the forest solitude.
@@Worldwidewild It sounds like you have adapted very well to the bare outdoors. Keep doing what you love. The kids are getting a great self-reliant education.

Wie schön euch wenigstens in euren supertollen Videos immer wieder zu sehen. Irre wie eure Kinder gewachsen sind. Wir haben Peter und Joachim glaub nur kurz verpasst als ich mit 7 Teenagern in Portugal war im August. Ich vermisse das Outdoorleben mit meinen Kindern, und ihr habt vermutlich oft auch mehr als genug davon.... Toll auch eure Familiendynamik zu erahnen durch all diese Bilder, unsere Kids sind doch so viel mehr geprägt jetzt durch ihren Schulstress und diese elendige Händysucht. Wir können echt so gespannt drauf sein was aus unseren Zöglingen dann einmal werden wird.... Was sind eure weiteren Pläne? Wann können wir euch mal wieder in Andalusien begrüßen?
Wir sind gerade noch in Osteuropa. Der September ist sehr warm, aber es wird langsam Zeit, sich einen Platz für den Winter zu suchen. Wir wissen noch nichts Genaueres. Die Jungs hast du wohl wirklich knapp verpasst. Schöne Grüße an alle, die wir in Orgiva kennen!

Serbia is a beautiful country. I guess you can attribute the abandoned houses to the Kosovo war. Hopefully, the country will see a rejuvenation. Thanks for sharing these rare images of the country and people.
In Serbia itself, there are not many visible traces of the war. Most of the battlefields are located outside of today's Serbia. The decaying houses are rather due to lack of money.
@@Worldwidewild in a way decay is the consequence of the wars and the economic sanctions and isolation for too long, not to mention all the factories and civil infrastructure in Serbia that was bombed by NATO in 1999, which surely contributed to the lack of money.

They do sometimes if they don't like a place. But when we are walking, they are totally balanced. This winter... it looks like we are going to a place you have been to already :-)
