I have yet to find a Home Free cover that isn't amazing. The amount of musicianship, talent and skill in this group really shows. They have also been working together for quite a while. Just wait until you can see them live! That bass will literally shake you - he makes the floor vibrate!
Yes, he is doing the harmonica with his mouth, His name is Adam Rupp and he's one of the best beatboxers out there. To hear more Tim Foust (that's the bass) Listen to My Church, Hillbilly bone, - Everybody Walkin' This Land Or his collaborations with Peter Hollens Misty Mountains, Sounds of Silence, and Fire and Ice.
YES, he is really making the harmonica noise with his mouth, he is Amazing and so talented !!! I have seen performed live twice and it absolutely sounds GREAT !!!
I think Chance (Adam Chance) is doing the "jaw harp" via harmonic overtone singing, aka Tibetan throat singing. In this song Adam (Rupp) is doing the "harmonica" with his mouth, but that isn't always the case. Can you say "duet"? I knew you could.
Welcome to the rabbit hole!! Some song recommendations; How Great Thou Art, Helplessly Hoping, The Butts Remix, Take Me Home Country Roads, American Pie, Hillibilly Bone, In the Blood, End of the Road. Mayday is a good one, but not yet. Also, their original are amazing. Catch Me if you Can, Dive Bar Saints, Lonely Girl's World. There is so many! But, these will get you started!
I'm loving this Home Free journey....I knew you would love this one! If you want to hear Tim (bass man) take lead...react to In The Blood or My Church! Let the journey continue!
JB - now you know....anything they cover they usually own - nothing against the original artists, they're just that freakin' good!! They never disappoint - no matter what song of theirs you listen to.... Keep on keeping on boss!!
Tim Foust, the bass, has almost a six-octave range; and Austin's range is three octaves. Adam Chance is their baritone, but also does a lot of bass. Check out Tim's bass solo Your Man--great.
Yes and if you want to see the beatboxer Adam, Tim bass, and Austin high tenor go crazy, Do You Hear What I Hear, yeah it's a Christmas song but worth the listen if you'd like. New sub enjoy the journey!
I just discovered them during the pandemic and I can’t get enough of them. They’re so good and I haven’t heard a bad song yet. I mean some songs I like better than others but they’re all good. Some of my favorites, Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Country Roads, What We Ain’t Got, Die A Happy Man, I Can’t Outrun You, Yours, Folsom Prison Blues. Tim Foust is the bass, he recently cut his hair and has a gray streak going to he might look different in newer videos. They have a great sense of humor and have funny videos too, Butts Remix, Hillbilly Bone, Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. Christmas songs and hymns, O Holy Night, Do You Hear What I Hear. So many good songs. And some of the earlier videos have Chris Rupp who founded the group in 2000 but he left in 2016 (usually wearing a cowboy hat) and was replaced with Chance who was doing the mouth harp. They can all do some beatboxing too. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, has a video out Adam Rupp Drum solo which is great to watch. So much to listen to. Enjoy! Oh btw, they don’t have a lead singer. They can all sing and choose who’s best for each song.
Adam Rupp freak of nature beat boxer, Tim Foust low bass, Austin Brown lead on this song Rob Lundquist bearded guy, and Adam Chance goes by just Chance baritone, bass doing jaw harp
I've seen reactors lost for words before , but I find you the funniest. I can't wait to see your reaction to Tim when you hear Ring of Fire featuring Avi Kaplan and Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens, featuring Tim Foust. Thank you!
I absolutely Love how they did this song. The arrangement is freaking incredible. I'm so glad you have found Home Free. And no, there will not be a video that you will be unimpressed with.
Home Free are 5 unicorns that just happen to meet up. Tim Foust, the bass, also sings well into tenor, while having one of the lowest voices ever recorded (5 octave range), Chance is a baritone, who can push to bass and up to low tenor (4 octave range), Rob (the bearded guy) is a fantastic tenor. Austin (the high tenor) is a vocal gymnast. Adam Rupp is a beatbox and vocal sound-effect expert on the next level, while also being a great tenor singer, too. Not to mention, every single member can do beatboxing.
10:38 It's not even low for him. Him and Geoff from VoicePlay and Avi from Pentatonix are all amazing and can all go *way* deeper then this. As for what to say. If you have any musical education perhaps comment on *how* they're amazing? The difficult parts and what it takes to recreate that? But honestly, I think most people into those three groups enjoy just watching people get shocked by the quality either way. ;-)
Heavy set man with a beard is Rob. He sings tenor. The red headed guy is Austin Brown. He sings high tenor. The bass is Tim Foust. The baritone is Adam Chance (he goes by Chance). The best boxer is Adam Rupp, one of the co-founders of the group. They are simply the best.
My boys!! (I'm from MN, where the original band was started by Adam & Chris Rupp, and where Rob and Adam live) Subscribed, and can't wait for more! =) The Home Free rabbit hole is a great place to be, and as you will find out these guys can be a lot of fun! You'll be a Home Fry in no time. A few of my favs (though it is really hard to pick!): Mayday (my all-time fav, definitely wait on this one until you have a few more under your belt and know them a little better) End of the Road Blue Ain't Your Color Ring of Fire Country Fried Pop Medley Butts Remix Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer (with cameos by their producer Darren Rust and duo The Hound + The Fox) O Holy Night Do You Hear What I Hear (brilliantly arranged by Adam Rupp, and filmed at the Ice Castles in MN just a couple miles from where I lived at the time) They also have released quite a few as part of their "quarantine" collection filmed from their homes, many that feature their families and pets: Down to the Honkytonk Sunday Best Moonshine Quarantine I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (Peter Hollens feat. HF) Ok, I'll stop now, but there are so many more...
It's so much fun to watch someone new fall down the rabbit hole of Home Free! Great reaction, I'm along for the ride now. :) Gotta love these guys, they really are so very talented!
Keep em coming. Smooth as a butter biscuit. They all sing lead and they are all very good. The bass has a 5 octave range and goes off a lot. Just wait.
Listen to ring of fire.... I know it’s an older one but Dadgum!!!! When they were here and performed at the Steifel and they did ring of fire and the bass dropped smh..... Dadgum! I won’t even tell you what it did to my wife lol
They are the best of the best. No one can touch their talent. Each of them are so talented it's ridiculous. Adam Rupp is a world class beat boxer and yes that's him with the harmonica sounds. All I can think of when I watch Adam beat box is "Wow, I bet that man can kiss!" Sometimes when they intro Adam at their live shows they say "You'll be amazed at what this man can do with his mouth." Heh, heh. Needless to say, that gets quite the reaction.
Have fun in the Home Free rabbit hole. They are absolutely amazing vocalists. If you want bass, try Everybody Walkin This Land. Tim and Chance take the lead in that one. Or Folsom Prison Blues.
"What they're doing" for the sound of the juice harp is called overtone singing (producing two pitches at the same time; sometimes called "throat singing," but that's not really what Adam Chance is doing here. You get a glance of him actually doing it at the very end of the video if you pay attention.) The harmonica sound is Adam Rupp all by himself, with no instrument to help him... He's that good. And he's married, so I expect his wife is plenty happy with his talents. As far as the bass voice is concerned, Tim Fousts's intense solo was impressive, sure - but did you notice his REAL bass drop in the chorus right after, where he dropped another octave? When you spend some more time down the Home Free rabbit hole, you will see plenty of Tim doing lead parts, and you will also be blown away with his range (he can sing lead tenor if he wants, and do it DAMN well.)
We are one happy family of Home fries. Welcome 🤗 No instruments, newer instruments. Take a look at “Your man” to see more bass from Tim I think ju should watch “All about the bass” to see an other side of them.
Home Free is AWESOME, the more you listen, the more you like them. Another one I'd like you to react to is American Pie. Tim is an amazing bass, and has a 5 octave range; his growls are epic. Also, Austin Brown (high tenor) has some great solos, check them out!
Yes Adam Chance is doing the Sound in the beginning 🙃 it looked like it in the Outro, when there was the same Sound. These guys are Just phenomenal! And not to forget the nomonica by Adam Rupp 😍🤯
I just subscribed... I love to see someone's reaction to these guys' music. Actually Adam Chance is doing the juice(?) harp at the beginning. Adam Rupp is the championship beatboxer who does the percussion and harmonica. Glad you enjoy them as much as I do. For really serious harmony and just plain beautiful check out How Great Thou Art and Go Rest High On That Mountain. Haven't heard anything in my seven+ decades that can top it.
You know that line in the movie Field of Dreams where they say, " If you build it, they will come"? That's the way it is with Home Free fans. If you react to Home Free, the subscribers will come, and they are loyal.
I have seen enough Home Free to know that Tim Foust is a funny, funny guy, but that close up with the wet hair .... the theme from Deliverance starts playing in my head. Can't wait to get to the reactions to songs where he goes really deep. Your reactions are so much fun, that I'm now binge watching from first to last.
The bass singer is Tim Foust. He is legendary in the A cappella world with a 5 octave range. He even goes lower on Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire and he hits some good low notes also on Jake Owen's What We Ain't Got and really brings it on Blake Shelton's Hillbilly Bone. But watch those first before you go to their cover of Cam's Mayday when he leads in high tenor. Simply will blow you away! Great reaction btw.
As a bass singer who can hit low tenor, I am in awe at Tim's ability. But, we shouldn't sleep on Chance, either; his 4 octave range and ability to go well into the bass range is incredible, too.
Yes, Chance is doing the jaw harp! I guess he doesn't do it in live shows because it hurts his throat. Tim Foust has actually blown speakers in concerts! The way they do such good work is that they leave their ego out of it! They all "try out" to see who sounds the best for their parts. That, and they refuse to take themselves too seriously. They have a good time!
The reason they keep getting better is actually really simple: they bet a fiddle of gold they were better than the devil and they won, so basically, they are magic
If Tim's deep bass makes you uncomfortable in Man of Constant Sorrow, you should check out the video "Tim Foust breaking sound system at Morrison". Lol
Welcome to the Home Fries, friend. I don't know if anyone else in the comments answered, but the jaw harp noise in the beginning was made by Adam Chance, the baritone-bass. In concert, they use a looper for this song, because Chance said doing it for too long is pretty painful. They use loops for just a few songs live, like this one, and Castle On the Hill, which has a very complicated arrangement. And yes, the harmonica is all our beloved beatboxer extrordinaire, Adam Rupp. Although, live, Austin Brown (the high tenor) does part of it. Bass singer is Tim Foust, who, at least for me, is easily the best country bass singer of the last few decades. And tall, beard, glasses, tenor voice that angels envy, that's Rob Lundquist.
Austin Brown "Unchained Melody"and Tim Foust " Misty Mountains" Also " Ring of Fire ft ex Pentatonix bass Avi. Tim and Avi share the bass. Boy's to Men "End of the Road".If you want to see if you can still feel your heart being stirred by deep personal emotion PLEASE listen to Vince Gill song by our guys on "Go Rest High On That Mountain" and "How Great Thou Art" I am totally obsessed!
you should check out austin brown from homefrees new single “take the night off” he is the one who took most of the beginning the one with the long curly hair
Just found your reaction channel and am enjoying watching each one, from the first one on. They just get better as you start to figure out their names and individual talents that make them strong as a group. Thanks for your energy!
Every sound is man made. No instruments at all. Listen to Adam Rupp's drum solo to get a good idea of his awesome talent as a beat boxer- it will truly blow your mind!
Great reaction. I was pretty sure you were going enjoy this cover. If you want to hear more of Rob (the one with the beard), you might want to listen to their original song 'Catch Me if you Can'. Another group that does some great work is Voiceplay. Their cover of Carry On Wayward Son' is incredible.
It depends on the song which one of them sings lead - occasionally, when the song doesn't have beatboxing in it (O Holy Night, Amazing Grace for example) the beatboxer sings with the chorus. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, did the arrangements for "Do You Hear What I Hear". There are videos of him doing 'drum' solos during live performances.
When I saw you reacted to this I wanted to watch so bad yesterday, but we lost internet and I don’t have unlimited on my mobile so I have to share data with the hubs. It was so worth the wait! I knew you would love it!! Everything from them is vocal! They do, however, use a looping station when they perform this live so it frees them us to sing other parts! It’s so freaking amazing live, too! Heck! Their live shows are amazing from start to finish! They are so amazingly talented! You have plenty of good song suggestions for now, so I won’t bombard with anymore at the moment! Great and enthusiastic reaction!
I have yet to find a Home Free cover that isn't amazing. The amount of musicianship, talent and skill in this group really shows. They have also been working together for quite a while. Just wait until you can see them live! That bass will literally shake you - he makes the floor vibrate!
How rare is it that someone manages to get three reactions deep before they encounter Tim's deep notes?!?! Absolutely love it!!!
The bass...That's Tim Foust. He's the best I've ever heard at shaking a room with the bass and yet he sings tenor just as brilliantly.
All by mouth
I love that line.... 'What do you say when it's perfect?' LOL! The answer is, 'Thank you, Home Free!'
The best!
And that is why we love them so much and are so loyal. We will watch as much of them as you give us, enjoy watching people go down the HF rabbit hole.
YES, he is really making the harmonica noise with his mouth, he is Amazing and so talented !!! I have seen performed live twice and it absolutely sounds GREAT !!!

Yes and if you want to see the beatboxer Adam, Tim bass, and Austin high tenor go crazy, Do You Hear What I Hear, yeah it's a Christmas song but worth the listen if you'd like. New sub enjoy the journey!

It's not Tim in ring of fire, that song features Avi, Don't know his last name

The song is much older then the movie as it was first published in a book of music in 1913 and the oldest known recording is from the 1920's.

Just found your reaction channel and am enjoying watching each one, from the first one on. They just get better as you start to figure out their names and individual talents that make them strong as a group. Thanks for your energy!
I am as excited to listen to them as you are.
Every sound is man made. No instruments at all. Listen to Adam Rupp's drum solo to get a good idea of his awesome talent as a beat boxer- it will truly blow your mind!
Harmonica sound is with his mouth. 100% his voice
I can’t wait to see what you think looking forward to the reaction
I am blown away by the support from the home frys!
