I honestly agree with what you just said... I bought the game itself to see how bad it is, my mom couldn't let me buy the Thrustmaster T150 I saw at GameStop. So, another option was a NASCAR game, so I tested it out to see how bad the game was as us sim racers were saying and yeah... It's just that bad, they promised us a 2022 DLC for free but then all we recieved from them is a test session. I remember doing the eNASCAR Pro League qualifying thing back in 2018-2019 with NASCAR Heat 3, this was right after Motorsport Games first acquired 704. You can probably remember that the qualifiers were pretty janky for every event; you had to race on a track with other people to get the fastest overall race time. As far as I can tell this didn't change for eNASCAR Pro League, where you'd have to do the same along with different tiers of up to I think it was 100 players? So it was A tier, B tier, C tier, etc etc. There wasn't like any hotlap or just a single race with the AI, you had to wait for other people to join you and "the more people in your race the more it counts" because of whatever bullshit metric they got us to believe. I was one of the few to consistently finish top 50 A tier, I started out doing C tier times but ended up getting into a good rhythm and matching up with people like RED4244 and mrTrackbar, slyder, basically a few people that made the cut into the actual series itself. When I was invited into their Discord the vibe was really weird. They kept telling us how teams wanted us to be marketable and have good content creation skills. We had people pushing McDonalds, Coca-Cola, even Kroger branded water to try and woo the organizers and show how they're obedient enough for Motorsport Games' end agenda. I did pretty shit in some of the "showcase events", not gonna lie, but it was a straight up lie how they told us that it didn't matter, or that it did matter, or that it was just for practice. I remember the last race in Phoenix they told us this was the one that the teams were looking for, so I put my ass on the line and probably put on a performance that I thought was worthy for getting a draft pick. Coincidentally, that showcase race never got uploaded to the official NASCAR Heat TH-cam channel. The few weeks after we were never really told what to expect, people kept very hush hush about the whole process and I was very confused as to what was going on. When you look at the Draft video for that season it's sort of shown as a spontaneous on the spot deal, so I woke up early expecting to learn something new on the spot. Little did I know was that these deals were already done well before the draft date, so it really was just an event announcing team line ups and nothing more. Disappointed I just sort of moved on and showed a bit of frustration since I felt like something super fishy was going on. A few drivers that were beating a person who dropped shipped t-shirts and clothing items and some xth-rate NASCAR TH-camr didn't make the cut, but those two did. Fast forward to NASCAR 21 and you see Sloppy Joe and Tyler Dohar, Season 1 & 2 drivers starting to promote the game. A lot of them are very kissy kissy to the devs about stuff that would be unthinkable on Monster Games' end. No custom setups? No private lobbies? Well, whatever. Come the time where they'd give content creators early access (remember Schildhouse's leader's in the pits saga?) Sloppy_Joe was on full damage control. Lots of huge issues with the game, tons of bugs, unfinished, sometimes out right unplayable. You know what he says? "Just give it some time, I think it's worth the buy." Now with this controversy, a few more eNASCAR ex-drivers are doing their best to push this all off, saying how it's lies, how people make stuff up, how the game industry, media, and Twitter sucks and they only know the "real ones". Check out some of the roster's Twitters and you'll see vague subtweets about the whole thing. A lot like how when people started to dig into the shit storm that was eNASCAR Pro League season 1 Scott Cole started looking up his name on Twitter and straight up hunted down people talking smack about him. At the time we were told by him to ignore Dustin McGee because he was crazy (kinda is) but after the fact I was sitting here thinking "Oh shit, maybe he did have a point" since all people had to do to get a contract was just be a lap dog to the company.

There’s probably no coverage for this because there’s nothing there yet. These 3 lawsuits happen for better or for worse, but once actually licensing contracts start going to court and they start loosing them. Then we have a shit storm brewing. And releasing a bad product NASCAR 21: Dumpster Fire.
@@StevenWatters someone should be arrested for how bad that game was.
I don’t know how they are still around ignition 21 was the most piss poor excuse for a game
Call it NASCAR 21: Dumpster Fire... It's a good title for the piss poor game.

Thanks so much austin for covering this, without it we wouldn't even know about this
Is this gonna have a knock on effect for the BTCC game that's supposed to be coming out?
HEHE
Nice work, hopefully you get some credit for exposing all this when it hits the big 'publications'
Hey, its the PRC guy playing attack dog for ian once more along with some trash site
Just let EA remaster NASCAR Thunder 04
Hell yeah!
For real. That just plays like a proper console racing game. I'd play it on PC too.
Not gonna happen, if they did, the physics would be considered obselete by todays standards because it's not "Realistic"
People would rather buy a broken game than finally admit gaming right now is downgrading with the increase in quality graphics. If a nascar game is literally squares as cars just a blur jpeg image on a poorly designed race car, but the entire game worked, to the point of every detail was flawless but that. Duck graphics I’m gonna pick the game that runs. Weeks before ignition I would daily try to tel people don’t buy this game it is coming out incomplete, of course you got the cry baby nascar gaming community who yes, hasn’t gotten a good game let’s face it since thunder 04 (some honorable mentions inbetween then) and they fell for the oohs and ahs of a game promo.
WHEN HAS THE GAME EVER LOOKED AS GOOD AS A PROMO VIDEO STOP PEEORDERING WITH YO MOMMY CREDIT CARD RALPH
Let me just say we already had a test session for NASCAR HEAT 5, and at least we got to drive the NextGen car this time but, it's just not the same. I'd be pretty happy if MSG loses this case against NASCAR and IndyCar.
@@StevenWatters I’ve done research on it and they are in deep. When they released a game intentionally waving the actual gameplay testing certificate that all games are supposed to have for release and when they released a game half done, I thought to myself, watch, they won’t reply to any complaints and if the times they do it’s the most generic bs excuse and promise more purchases me dlc but give you that broken too. And boom what do they do what a week after release try and charge another 30$ for a dlc that doesn’t work for a game that doesn’t work.
I think that’s exactly why so many people still play NR2003

Meanwhile we out here with 1TB of AC modded tracks and cars for 15 bucks going VRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOMMMMMM 🏎🚗🚓🚙
I'm just curious which sim, car, and Mid-Ohio version we are seeing in the background. Thank you to anyone who replies.
My first guess is VRC Formula NA 1999 in Assetto Corsa.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We got him.
And they are going to SPONSOR the 78 this weekend yet again 😂😂😂😂
FYI I have suggested that from the beginning and the gaming community should have a Class Action Lawsuit.
I cannot believe nascar is actually aware of how awful this dumpster fire is right now. None of the other sports would ever do something like this. Props to them
When your official game doesn’t even include your current racing format until a patch, that’s a problem that would wake up anyone.
Like, imagine NBA 2k releasing without the 3 point line.
Non-licensed NASCAR games on mobile devices are better than 21 Ignition. MSG is an absolute embarrassment.
Excellent Detective work Austin. So glad to see PRC make a comeback digitally!!
Ian paid him once more
I thought you said some big gaming content creator was supposed to hit on this?
Still waiting.
I hope S397 can get free of MSG and let them drown. Hopefully after that they could polish rF2 into a proper state worthy of being called 1.0 after almost 10 years after release.
"Just give it some time, I think it's worth the buy."
Now with this controversy, a few more eNASCAR ex-drivers are doing their best to push this all off, saying how it's lies, how people make stuff up, how the game industry, media, and Twitter sucks and they only know the "real ones".
This has been great coverage man! It's a shame how this continues to get worse and worse, but I hope this means Monstor Games and iRacing will save the console side of NASCAR gaming.
That's a nice lookin car behind you!
My hopes for a WEC game are fading.
This makes me really sad that I only just got into Nascar right before Ignition 21 came out. At least Heat 5 was super cheap at the time and I've enjoyed that for the noob I am.
because of the motorsports game saga digital tales lost the wsbk licence to milestone
so this is they company IndyCar is planning it's game with? 😐
yes
If Kozko and Motorsport Games lose the battle against NASCAR and IndyCar, I'm gonna be happy.... Let's just hope one thing tho for NASCAR to return to EA and that way Codemasters can make the new reboot of the NASCAR Thunder series like I wanted for quite a while.
Would love that but if MSG loses its license most likely we're headed to iracing
@@jackhammerjt Even better... Monster Games would be the best option since iRacing has bought them and not to mention Monster Games had the license before I want to see it again, hopefully more NASCAR HEAT reboots man.

So does MSG own rFactor now? Like rFactor3 will never happen or be utter shit?
yes, on both counts
I just want to see them lose the rights to the virtual 24 hours of LeMans. Is that too much to ask?
Very based journalism. I just want a god damn nascar game with a decent career mode. We'll back to heat 5
I just hope I get to see Nascar in Gran Turismo again… >_
They have good tech. Maybe they’ll get bought out.
I'm hoping indycar gets a contract with codenasters for their game instead of Motorport
They should give NASCAR game rights to a different company!
Just proving that modern gaming has turned into systemic failure and is just turning into cash grabs. Nobody finishes games anymore.
Sad but true. It's every game no matter what the genre. Everything is so rushed to make shareholders happy and its basically accepted by consumers because its the norm now for games to be released unfinished and just "update or fix it later".
"NoBOdY ComPLeTes GaMeS aNyMoRe", dumbest shit I ever heard, with no concrete evidence to back it up, just repeating the pointless nonsense like immature nutcases like yourself, like it's cocaine. A racing game featuring 100 cars and 40 tracks and you don't consider it complete? a game with 300 cars and 50 tracks and you don't consider it complete? good god, you're a entitled fool, just shut your yap and put the crackpipe down.
@@cbrdealer Good god you sound like such a fool, your ignorance is astounding! How much content do you want in your games? People like you make me sick.
So THAT'S why the BTCC game is delayed...
all I'll say is that I'll never buy a game from motorsport games after all this garbage. So if they even make it long enough to make a second game, I wont buy, and I'm proud to not be an owner of any copies of nascar 21
Meh. This is pretty standard stuff in the corporate world, arguments usually get settled in court . This is pretty minor stuff tbh.
The Superbike one is really interesting though
Well yeah, courts are where legal arguments are usually settled. I guess you meant out of court...
The whole Motorsports games saga was shady from the start. The name itself is shady AF lol.
Might be a good time to short sell their stock
Oh my god nascar please sue Motorsport games
Anyone kno where I can just get a f’n refund????! Xbox1S
There’s probably no coverage for this because there’s nothing there yet. These 3 lawsuits happen for better or for worse, but once actually licensing contracts start going to court and they start loosing them. Then we have a shit storm brewing. Sadly I hope Motorsport Games fails. It’s not cool to get contracts with companies to without other developers from using such content. 24 hour of a Lemans for example. You run a ducking garbage event and aren’t allowing a better game like iRacing to host one… shame on them for going through with the ACO on that.
...who is motorsport games?
FWIW it's been said Straw made up things and NASCAR refuted most of what Straw claimed in a Jalopnik article however, and seagle eyed readers pointed out Straw's done the same for Madden, making up shitFWW '
I've heard the same thing regarding MSGM and it's licenses dating back to January, all from different people. iRacers talk.
Nascar isn't going to tell Jalopnik anything about their deal. They won't even let fans see their rulebook. They're not exactly known for their transparency or honesty.
Gg short video
They will not cover it in the Lord’s sight. The Lord Jesus Christ if you ask will reveal this to the public. He will eventually make everything know. The devil will not be able hold forever.
Amen.
