- Tasting Indian Street Food on London Streets
Former British chef Angus Denoon is making waves online by introducing the beloved Indian street food Jhalmuri to the streets of London. A video posted by food blogger Ansh Rehan on October 19 features Denoon expertly serving this savory snack made from puffed rice, which has captivated audiences and amassed over 7.3 million views on Instagram.
Denoon’s journey began after he fell in love with Kolkata’s vibrant street food during visits in 2004 and 2005. Inspired by the rich flavors, he dedicated himself to mastering the art of street food by learning directly from local vendors. After months of perfecting his recipes, he successfully brought the essence of India’s chaat culture to London, delighting food lovers and enriching the city’s culinary scene.
He set up a stall at the Kali Puja event in Swiss Cottage, a prestigious celebration that has been celebrated in London for over 60 years. This grand event not only highlights the rich cultural heritage of the community but also serves as a vibrant gathering for food lovers and cultural enthusiasts alike.
