3 AMAZING OIL FREE SAUCES | VEGAN & GLUTEN FREE

  • Try these 3 delicious sauces that will make your healthy food taste AMAZING! You probably have most of these ingredients already in your kitchen so there's no excuse for bland vegan food anymore!
I like to make my own sauces because many store bought sauces are full of oil, sugar, salt and not much else. When you learn how to make your own you never run out and will have an infinite amount of choice for flavours. Today I share 3 of my favourites.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments section! Recipes are down below. Thanks for watching!
    Quick Lemon Tahini
    4 heaping tbsp tahini
    1 lemon (juice)
1 tbsp maple syrup (or date)
1 tbsp spicy brown mustard (or whatever mustard you have)
    1/3 cup warm water
    Salt/Pepper to taste
    Whisk or blend until smooth
    Carrot Ginger Turmeric
    7 small carrots (2 1/4 cups chopped)
1 thumb sized chunk of ginger
1 pinky finger sized chunk of turmeric root (powder will work too)
    2 tbsp tamari
2 tbsp sesame seeds (roasted, see video for instructions)
    1/3 cup chopped onion
    2 garlic cloves
    6 tbsp rice vinegar
    1/8 avocado
    1 3/4 cup water
    Blend on high until smooth
*Might be best with a high speed blender. Try cutting carrot up small if your blender has a hard time blending.
    Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette
    6 tbsp balsamic vinegar
    1/8 avocado
    2 date
    1 heaping tsp onion powder
1 heaping tsp garlic powder (or fresh)
    3/4 cup water
    Salt/Pepper to taste
    Blend on high until smooth

tip: raw onion and garlic change flavors over time, so if you're making these sauces for an entire week, going w/ garlic and/or onion powder is the way to go!

65 years old, tried Paleo, tried Keto, and though my doc is pleased with my weight loss, he's telling me I'm pre-diabetic, and not so pleased with my cholesterol. My blood pressure is under control with meds, but not great at 120(ish) / 80(ish). 5 months till my next visit. I'm transitioning to vegan (quickly(ish)) and eager to see what my endeavors reveal. I'll let you know! In the meantime, I'm kinda hooked on Coconut aminos. The interesting thing is, as you point out, is the salty/sweetness the product exudes. as you probably know, it's fermented coconut blossom sap, in flavor it's like Soy Sauce, but lower in sodium and, again... sweeter. Thanks for your vids. Hoping to do my first Muscle up at 65 when I get down to 150! That'll show 'em!

Hey! Love your channel -- my son (16) is considering trying plant based eating but concerned about keeping fit (he's a black belt in Karate). I have suggested your channel, and watching Game Changers. Keep up your good work!! AND I have an Avocado hack.... sometimes I they go ripe all at once, or I don't use it all, and I hate to waste them. Portion into wedges (no rind) and freeze them on a cookie sheet - then put in a container so they can be separated. That way, you can use just a few pieces in a smoothie, dressing or sauce, and not 'waste' a whole avocado! They blend from frozen in a vitamix, and make the sauce really thick!

i thought about what u suggested & pictured the balsamic dressing on those foods and agreed to myself... Yeah ...Yum that WOULD be good! so i went back up top, wrote out the balsamic dressing then had to go searching thru all the comments to find you again, cos i particularly wanted to add your clever little suggestions on what to serve it with. so Thank-You Candace! im a bit dopey when it comes to actual application for flavour combining... like what would be best to compliment sauces & dressings, so i really appreciate comments by people like u who have a gift for it or JUST KNOW this stuff : )

You're doing amazing work Derek! This video has given me lots of of sauces to try, as I'm struggling making foods taste good on a WFPB diet, as a lot of times the food is dry. Love you!

Awesome, thanks! Also, saw your onion...Dr. Furman had an interesting thought on onion, cut near the base for when you eat them raw. Cut near the top (bulb) when you cook with them. All the nutrients/enzymes are heavier near the base. I've noticed they taste crazy strong near the roots.

I've had carrot-ginger soup before and it was cooked, no mustard and it used orange juice for the sour portion and it obviously wasn't as sour as a sauce, but it was quite tasty! I think I can make the third sauce in my cheapie blender if I soaked the dates first.

I never get tired of eating Vegan with good sauces. It’s the best thing ever. I could have the same veggies with a different sauce and I feel like I’m eating something totally new.
    Thank you!!!
