This way is too weak for GINGER TEA, that's ginger flavoured water. For REAL Ginger Tea, you boil peeled ginger (small chunks or thin slices) for approx. 15 mins, remove from burner, let it seep for about 2 - 3 mins, then strain it as you pour it into a cup. The longer you boil it and let it sit, the stronger it gets. I put peeled ginger (chopped into small chunks or slices) in a freezer bag and freeze it. It's great when you're not feeling well (indigestion, cold or flu), you can put a fistful in the pot to make tea without having to stop to peel or chop. NEVER boil honey, add it after you've strained the tea into a cup if desired. If your drinking it for indigestion, DO NOT add honey. For cold/flu or just to enjoy, add honey & lemon after its strained.

Years ago I learned from my Indian Guru to NEVER put honey into boiling water/tea etc because boiling water destroys certain enzymes in the honey. Just let your tea or other beverage sit a couple of minutes before adding the honey.
I think it's just one of those things that once you've learned you can't unlearn.

Listen get your favorite tea bag boiling water a piece of Ginger the size of the tip of your finger peel it chop it up put it in your tea & drink. Now As you're drinking your tea make sure you get some of that Ginger in your mouth. As soon as you bite into a little piece of Ginger your whole body is gonna get hot Sip some more tea to cool your mouth down And then repeat until it's all gone your body will get super hot and that's what you want. I recommend 30 straight days of this. Your lungs your blood will thank you. That was easy.

If you enjoy honey for it’s nutritional value, you should not add honey to a hot drink. The hot water kills almost nutrients in the honey making it essentially straight sugar. You can have a teaspoon of honey…honey ON THE SPOON…take a bit of the honey in you mouth, swallow…and then sip your hot tea. As for lemons even though I love them…they are a severe diuretic to me. Leg cramps and all no matter how much water I drink. So, I drink straight ginger tea with honey on the side…no lemon.

The way they cook it is so wrong. You should smash the ginger before you throw them in the boiling water. Let it seeps and then after you take it off the heat, let it cool a bit then add the honey and lime. You don't want to add honey in hot boiling water, it'll destroy all the good enzymes from the honey.
