Thank you so this informative video! Thats exactly what I wanted to know the visual difference between 2 tire sizes! Keep up the good work, and riding that thing. It looks fun cant wait to get my ultra!
Does the bike handle that much better and is the speed and the power-torque the same ??? What is the differance with this setup and can you set the traction control with those wheels on the bike?? Thanks for the videos..
The bike definitely loses the initial zip. Top speed drops by about 4-5mph. Traction control does not work(not that its any good anyways). The bike feels more centered, corners way better, and is way less jittery.
Thanks for sharing I presume you like your set up!! Do you feel it is definitely worth it. Do you feel better tires will help the handling at all If I want to try that first?? For the rest of the bike how do you like it??? Thanks Tim good looking!!!!
I can’t give you a definitive answer yet. Just haven’t put enough days on the 18/21. But it will be all about range for me, definitely performs better. I don’t need high end top speed(mostly do trail riding). So just need to really get a feel for the range hit. But its a fun set up!
its alot better especially on hill climbs. as Tim said there is a slight change in characteristics of speed but we did get the traction control working, but never use it anyway
Slight heat even though it won't be red lock tight just a quick hit with a torch to the bolt not the disk or it will warp quick this will help when warm to break the seal of the blue lock tight kk.
@@race-emoto Still running the stock sprocket? I can't wait to get the 18/21 ordered and put on. I'm currently in the research mode of this project... :) I want it one and done! How much torque did you lose with the added weight?
If it is the pads that are closed shut, use a thin blade to slide in and carefully seperate them a little, then a small flat head to open all the way. Be gentle so you dont damage the pads.
Man, My rear brake has so much left to right play, I know some left to right play is normal but mine is so bad it is causing it to rub. How will I fix this?
Hmm, they should self centre. Check that the caliper is able to float left and right so it can self centre. If it's not moving you may need to take it off and check all the mounting pins. Has one disc pad worn more that the other? if it has, it means it's not floating
Late reply, but to those wondering Honda wheels fit with a little modification. Just grab two rotor side spacers, rotor side is plug and play. On the other side you have to cut the 2nd rotor side spacer down to 19mm or Charged Cycleworks has a spacer kit (for me the shipping cost more than the part so that was a no go.) and just like that you have a relatively cheap 21" front. Just make sure the hub has the same bolt pattern for the disc and it should fit just fine. You can grab a used wheel for hundreds of dollars cheaper and it'll be bulletproof compared to these cheap (quality not price) kke wheels.
@@chaossonar No worries, I used the same info myself. Important to note, this only applies to the front wheel. I've seen one instance that some fit a kawasaki wheel on the rear but they never gave out any info on the specs or process they had to go through to make it work. The best option if your on a budget is to stick with a 19 in the rear, with a rimlock you should be able to run a 100/90-19 without too much issue and that is still a significant upgrade over the stock rear tire. People have fit 110/90-19's but it seems like the performance/power ratio isn't worth it unless you beef up the battery and drivetrain which is a very costly way to go about it.
I loved my road legal light Bee but it's just a little bit little. I'll cash some Tesla shares for an Ultra Bee. Apparently you can get them cheaper and quicker from Ali Baba.

Glad it was helpful! You will have a blast!
I'm sure there is an upcoming vid on the performance. Can you include how the range is affected?
Lookin forward to a video discussing how the riding characteristics changed with the new wheels.
coming soon!
Yeah baby! 18/21s is where it's at.
I got one, and some wheels. Make sure you don't mix the spacers if you have both wheels off. Took me all day to work it out.
Thanks buddy , I seen this video en I did my 18”and 21” my self whaching your videos keep up the good work thx…
Glad I could help
Excellent video.
Thank you. I appreciated you sharing. It was a great tutorial

You should take a small torch to brake rotor bolts and heat them up first then use hand tools.
Could you do a video on how to replace the rear shock?
Does the suspension have enough space with bigger wheels? Is it not rubbing on full compresion?
Nope, plenty of room
Dude i cannot get the rear axel loose for the life of me. I have a 27mm socket but it comes off the top of the bottom. Tips?
Thanks for the vid!
I just ordered the kke blue ones! Are you thinking of going to a bigger sprocket yet?
Doesn't seem needed just yet, but maybe we will test it out in the future

My front caliper is closed to tight for some reason. Obviously I dropped my UB during this process, twice, so maybe I tweaked it. How do I open them?

Can you please tell what front tire width you have used? 70 or 80? And why?
90/90. We use it because it's more suited to enduro riding than MX, gives better braking force ect. We race hard enduro on it.
Did the wheels need to be dished or they come ready to install on the bike?
Ready to install :)
Why can't you put any mx rims on Surrons? Why do they have to be specific from kke? I cant find an answe anywhere. Thanks
The Ultra has unique hubs and KKE make rims to suit

@Some.Canadian thanks for taking the time to respond. Much appreciated, I will be using the information you provided.

what is the difference in weight, how much heavier are the wheels and tires?
there is a difference, but not sure how much by
Dependent on what tire you run but should be roughly 5lbs per wheel heavier
Side note. Where in OZ you at? My wife is from Runaway Bay and her parents still live there.
Based on the Gold coast, to too far away!
@@race-emoto Nice. That’s awesome. 🤙🏼
Would it be possible to run the 19 inch back wheel with a 21 inch front?
yeah, its up to your personal preference
What’s the seat height with the new wheels?
Can't remember exactly but its very similar (a bit higher) since the smaller rim has larger tread on the rear
I loved my road legal light Bee but it's just a little bit little. I'll cash some Tesla shares for an Ultra Bee. Apparently you can get them cheaper and quicker from Ali Baba.
Would a 21/19 combo with mx33s for track, like my ktm 150sx work ok?
The rims are very skinny so it's possible but you can't have low psi cause it will most likely pop off the rim
What’s with the helmet?
John doesn't want his handsome face distracting from the information :)
Why are you doing it with a helmet on? 😂
It’s a surron thing 😂
He is scared he will fall
Surronster does it now everyone does
Daft
how badly does it decrease acceleration
Honestly no too bad, still keeps up with 300cc 2 strokes off the line
How about the traction control? Can it adjust for a different size of wheel?
We have never needed traction control but got it working with the bigger wheel
I would enjoy a dirt test video maybe some aggressive ride please.
got videos out at the hard enduro with them on, it doesn't get more aggressive than that!
No ABS
How ? Like every other bike 🤷♂️
Incorrect, the front axle set up trips everyone up :P
I like and appreciate your videos, but why do you always wear a helmet? Is weird dude.
do you know what else is weird...? your face !
Hes the E Moto Stig........ DUH 😂
Thanks next time don't wear your helmet it looks uncomfortable when working on your bike bub.😊
putting 120/130/140 is really stupid on this kind of bike
Not if you race it in hard enduro like we do
Take off your helmet. It doesn't look good on you in these types of videos.
What if I fall over?
