  • Today we had a surprise snow storm in Redlands. It lasted about 2 hours, but because the temperature remained at about 34 degrees none of it stuck to the ground for more than a few seconds. When my son and girlfriend texted me that it was snowing I grabbed my cell phone and drove up to Sunset Drive, which runs along the crest of the hills in Southern Redlands, and has the highest elevations. Most of Sunset Drive is between 2,000' and 2,200' elevation. In a few spots you could see across San Timoteo Canyon and see that the hills above the canyon on the south side did have a thin layer of snow that stuck to the ground. It was great to experience this here, as I've only heard about it snowing here and have never seen it with my own eyes. Very rare.
