    It just doesn't get any better than this, the virtuosity of the guitar, the pureness of voice.

    With this performance David makes me feel like he's an old friend hangin' at my place relaxing. Welcome, David.

    Magnificent performance from my fave EVER, David Bromberg. 1 of the best lines ever - "I wanna be your lover baby, don't wanna be your boss. Just don't say I never warned you, if your train gets lost!" Thanks for posting! Sharing. ✌❤

    First saw David play at St Peters in Jersey city, back in the 70's. Great Band.

    Never compare what you can do with someone else's talent. Just enjoy the notes and don't you ever give up. I've been listening to Bromberg for close to fifty years and Lord knows I will never reach that level but I am better than I was and not as good at the same time. He does the best versions of Delia was a gambling girl and Mr Bojangles.

    Nothing will ever surpass Dylan's original version, but this is absolutely beautiful! The extreme demands of playing solo are fully met here.

    I saw him in Amherst, Ma about 1972. I became a fan. I have seen him several times since. He is one of the great guitar player who ever lived. My favorite is Derek Trucks but David is #2. Listen to him sing Dehlia.

    He is the Professor of the blues and plays many stringed instruments. He took many years off from making music; making instruments. And he has been this great back to 30 years ago. Don't let the glasses fool you. lol

    I'll be the contrarian here and say that the blues comes from the soul. And that's what David gives us here, some of his soul. In that context, he's a genuine blues singer.

    Very Nice...David is one of my favorite guitarist since I was sitting at a party sometime during the late 70's when someone put an album on.... and I was amazed and said "Who is that"? They said "David Bromberg" and I was Hooked.

    looks like you can't see to well either that looks more like the Bromberg signature model M45 than any resemblance to a D45.

    This is a delight to listen to. Watching, not so much; that's not David's fault at all. But when the sync is this botched, watching it becomes hard.

    Can't sing the blues? Sorely debatable. Depends which side your blues are butterfielded. But man, this is a Dylan song! You expect him to sound like Buddy Guy?

    • @jamesa.rodriguez8598
      @jamesa.rodriguez8598 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. It don't much to sing the blues, and sing it well, even if you're just talking it through. Love the P. Butterfield connection. I'm so happy when I have the blues. And content in assuredness in Jesus Christ. Amen.

  • @ishmaelsmith2787
    @ishmaelsmith2787 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just because people Can cover Dylan songs, doesn't mean they Should; this is adroit and in its own terms flawless but it just ain't right, it's not even right when Dylan covers it.

  • @deweypug
