Great video. Re the "film the TV" parts. I believe they legally need to play any "TV broadcast" parts in a context of filming the TV, so people don't randomly tune in to the program and see a realistic looking " news alert". Random bit of knowledge there
A fun part about Tennent saying “Fantastic” at the end is that there is a deleted scene earlier where he TRIED to say the word but couldn’t say it right because his “new teeth” got in the way and the word didn’t feel right in his mouth, especially because he was still regenerating. So him saying it right at the end was a call back to that earlier scene and also to indicate that he was now “done cooking.”

Since I've seen this one before and I actually loved the Christmas invasion and it was funny from beginning to end including the whole flatten hand routine that was brilliant I would give this episode at 10 out of 10 that's my answer and I'm sticking to it
The saddest part of this episode for me is the use of "Song for Ten". A joyous and awesome song only used this one time (variations of the melody are used later on, but not the actual song). All that song can remind me of is the beginning of Tennant's era, which inevitably reminds me that it's over now.
The one thing I love most about this episode is the discussions I've had with others about whether or not Harriet was justified in destroying the Sycorax ship. Personally, I think she was. Yes, they were leaving, but who's to say they wouldn't come back with the Armada, as they had earlier threatened? Also, Harriet raised a great point, in that the Doctor isn't always going to be there to protect Earth. A fear that is validated in The Stolen Earth when countless people die, due to the Doctor's absence. People died in front of Harriet, while the Doctor was sleeping. Harriet believed that humanity needed to be able to protect itself, considering the Doctor won't always be able to do so himself. Perhaps she went overboard here, but it's hard not to see where she's coming from, considering all the attention that Earth has garnered and attacks they've sustained. She seemed more than justified in her fears of the Doctor's constant absences leaving Earth vulnerable.
I completely agree, the doctor if completely opposed to Torchwood that protects the earth because they make tough decisions which does sometimes lead to death. The David Tennant doctor had the time lord victorious plot which I think starts here as he thinks he should be the only one to protect the earth. I don't think Harriet should have shot down the skip though but that isn't really the point.
I am entirely on her side in this and would also have shot the ship without a doubt. They were slavers and invaders and didn’t deserve the mercy being offered when they might come back and kill you all.
The 'film the tv' bits are done partly for legal purposes because it's illegal to broadcast a false news report if it looks like a real one. So they have to film the tv so that it's that much more obvious that the news on the tv isn't real news. I'm not sure if explained that well.
I hope you're gonna review some of the other Tennant Christmas specials, runaway bride is pretty hilarious as the intro of Donna, and voyage of the damned has to be my favourite Christmas special hands down.

@@Pacmanfan-po9rn It's full of plot hole and plot convenance that Harry doesn't want to search because he's the kind of normie who says RTD good Moffat bad Chibnall worse
ill be honest i disagreed with the doctor on the prime minister being wrong to fire on the sikorax as they where fleeing, mostly for one reason what of the many planets and species that will be enslaved and tortured by them if they had escaped? are we supposed to just say " ah well its fine if they arent humans being enslaved" in short i think its more of the doctors moralizing hypocritically, after all he killed fleeing daleks and other species and nobody calls him out on it
I've actually seen this one and then re-saw it and I still love it I still love the Christmas invasion I love the comedic timing of it I love the the fight scenes even the doctor's sleeping was funny that was just gold golden age of Britain's TV worth it so worth it so rewarding
The Christmas invasion is far as the Spanish concerned did not suck it was brilliantly done brilliantly executed and brilliantly funny from the beginning all the way to the end especially when Davidson said I have a thought in hand I couldn't stop laughing That's how you know you have a good episode
I agree, but I don't find any of them bad, just over-rated... possibly due to the Tennant factor. Most of Moffat's Specials were better, IMHO, even if his Doctors weren't as popular as Tennant had been.
No sir it is a solid 10 out of 10 thank you were alone the spinning Christmas tree the robot Santa's even the doctors lying there like a little boy waiting for Christmas really laughed so hard I thought my size were going to split no you have not got a sense of humor serve this you're right about it being gold it was definitely gold and it was worth a 10 out of 10 possible 10 out of 20
The direction is what lets it down for me. Like all RTD specials, it's just _grey._ The most dull Doctor Who's ever looked, and it spent a decade in monochrome!
Being a kid, you side with the Doctor and hate Harriet Jones (until her Stolen Earth redemption). But watching this now, you realise the Doctor lets invasive slave traders just walk away lol
Man, it's weird seeing you reference Harbo Wholmes because I constantly confuse you two. Couple of Brits talking about Doctor Who with names that start with H. I only know it's you when I hear "but did it suck?".
Harriet Jones was right. No question about it, especially after the events of Torchwood: Children of Earth... Harriet Jones was right and the Doctor was wrong. A rare time, but the man was wrong.
I personally think this sucked. I've only watched it once but I've never wanted to revisit it. It has good moments, sure, but on the whole I think I was just... bored by it.
Meh... I never really liked this episode. It’s just... I don’t know. The Doctor spends forty minutes in bed and then has a sword fight in his pyjamas before ruining a poor woman’s life, the same person who has helped him save the planet, TWICE. I don’t like it, is what I’m saying.
that’s ironically what i love about it. it almost feels like a doctor lite episode in a way because he spends most of the time in bed, making it a far better doctor lite contender for this season than love and monsters. and his deposition of harriet jones led to harold saxon’s tenure as prime minister. everything in this episode feels like it has consequences. but to each his own :)
I liked your review, but i did not like this episode it was dragged it felt slow, when you say lass is more, I say yes lass of this episode would made it better

One of the best episodes of the reboot EVER. I really fucking wish we got more Ninth Doctor though man.
it's litteraly one of the worst episode of the show
@@TempoKong how
@@Pacmanfan-po9rn It's full of plot hole and plot convenance that Harry doesn't want to search because he's the kind of normie who says RTD good Moffat bad Chibnall worse
@@TempoKong it’s the best post regeneration story of modern Who
@@justsomerandomguyonline1144 ah yeah the good regeneration stories with the Doctor appearing within the last 15 minutes, really my favorites
This is not what I expected but I am most certainly, satisfied.
ill be honest i disagreed with the doctor on the prime minister being wrong to fire on the sikorax as they where fleeing, mostly for one reason what of the many planets and species that will be enslaved and tortured by them if they had escaped? are we supposed to just say " ah well its fine if they arent humans being enslaved" in short i think its more of the doctors moralizing hypocritically, after all he killed fleeing daleks and other species and nobody calls him out on it
Isn't it "Don't you think she looks tired?" rather than looks tiny?
I was waiting for that EastEnders bit, bravo
0:10- heard of breathmints?
I've actually seen this one and then re-saw it and I still love it I still love the Christmas invasion I love the comedic timing of it I love the the fight scenes even the doctor's sleeping was funny that was just gold golden age of Britain's TV worth it so worth it so rewarding
The Eastenders reference broke me!
Thank you for reminding me the Christmas idents were a thing
The pilot fish are robots for hire.
Can’t believe this was 15 years ago
"The SoNiC WavE has hit the ATmoSpHeRe!!"
The line is "Don't you think she looks tired" not Tiny!
Are you being satirical?
This episode would have felt like it was parodying Theresa May if it was released in recent years
8:15 Two seconds before this when I watched this video for the first time I had a sudden Eastenders vibe...
Torchwood is also an anagram for doctor who
Dammit I knew that eastenders joke was coming and I still laughed!
Eastenders in who remembers Demensions in Time
Was that... A robot wars reference?
The Christmas invasion is far as the Spanish concerned did not suck it was brilliantly done brilliantly executed and brilliantly funny from the beginning all the way to the end especially when Davidson said I have a thought in hand I couldn't stop laughing That's how you know you have a good episode
I didn't know your name was Zachary... I thought it was Harry.
I LOOOVE this Episode :D What a fantastic Introduction to 10nant!!!
8:10 Dont make the joke
DONT MAKE THE JOKE
he made the joke
For me this is the only good RTD era Christmas Special, I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for that....
Still disappointed by Voyage of The Damned to this day.
I agree, but I don't find any of them bad, just over-rated... possibly due to the Tennant factor. Most of Moffat's Specials were better, IMHO, even if his Doctors weren't as popular as Tennant had been.
The End Of Time part 1 is the best Christmas special of the RTD era and every Christmas special in the RTD was good
The EastEnders memes lmao
No sir it is a solid 10 out of 10 thank you were alone the spinning Christmas tree the robot Santa's even the doctors lying there like a little boy waiting for Christmas really laughed so hard I thought my size were going to split no you have not got a sense of humor serve this you're right about it being gold it was definitely gold and it was worth a 10 out of 10 possible 10 out of 20
WHO ARE YOUUU
I DOOONNNTT I KNNNOOWWWWW!!!!!
Review the impossible astronaut/day of the moon
The direction is what lets it down for me. Like all RTD specials, it's just _grey._ The most dull Doctor Who's ever looked, and it spent a decade in monochrome!
You should do Torchwood reviews.
I love this episode but I'd prefer to see more of the Doctor rather than keeping him in his dressing gown.
Haribo is my other favorite DW channel!
Make a video on the titanic episode, it is my favourite
I give it an 8/10 too but I'm still not paying you xx ❤️

I really like this episode
Eh in the Falklands the British should've sunk the whole Argentinian fleet.
My least favourite post-regeneration story in the revival.
Why?
Same here, but it wasn't a bad episode of "The Tylers and Harriet Jones", I suppose ;)
Deep breath is mine, that was a snoozefest
So you think this is worst than Deep Breath and The Eleventh Hour?🙄
Chocolate cake
benni
3:59 does the Doctor have a stiffy??
I liked your review, but i did not like this episode it was dragged it felt slow, when you say lass is more, I say yes lass of this episode would made it better
No it not suck.
I agree, it not suck, good ep, english good
