@@eduardobenassi3072im absolutely sure that you dont know anything about classical music and classical guitar. Julian bream is the best classical guitarist performer with his incredible variety of color uses and tremendous technique. Nobody can play like him, affects you incredibly every time you listen to him with his dozens of varied tones and passionate interpretation. Abbsolutely a master. You just need to understand and feel.
@@ahmeteren4016 No, I just happen to prefer David's style, for multiple reasons. There's no objective way to say Bream is "better" than him. You sound like an insane person, honestly. Have a nice day. Oh and by the way, I do have a degree in classical guitar and I'm still trying to be better every day.
Although the sound is clearer in this rendition, Russel's performance where he is sitting on the stairs in that great hall,,, that is a far more passionate performance of this piece ~~! Check it out , its like right there ~ ~~>
I agree and I think it's because unlike a violin or piano it's quite hard or impossible to keep the note to last and/or slur to another note. Doesn't ring for as long to put it simply. The echo in the stair case keeps the notes longer and even though this is clean, the echo adds to the rate of notes that is played at a longer rate when switching strings. Could be wrong, but this is my theory why the sound in the staircase sounds better. Just an amazing player in general. No one has the timing on guitar like him on youtube. I checked.
I was in one of his masterclasses in cordoba some years ago and what I learnt is that for him this piece is so majestic, for example in the beginning the emotion must be so "old" (so slow and majestic ) and not that passionate
Da, yes indeed I fully agree with you he is one of the best like Julian Bream n John Williams, both regards as top notch guitar masters so is David, I attest indeed! USA
Great version! But I prefer the excitement of the original: th-cam.com/video/nInYs3cOX2M/w-d-xo.html (listen all the way through - it'll be worth your time!)
I have no words; months after the first listening, I’m still here, astonished by the greatness of this man and his instrument
Another King of guitar right up there with John Williams!
I have never heard this played better on any instrument...
In Davids hands it's sublime.
You should listen Julian breams if you never heard better
Bream’s Passacaille is by S. L. WEISS. If Bream did this Handel piece I’m unaware of it. Please link to it.

I cannot express the feelings I get every time I listen to it! David Russell Rules man...
He is the best, David Russel is a great guitarist. As if he has composed the piece all over again, always it touches me.
David Russell always amazing me. Live performances and recordings. God.
This piece made me start learning classical guitar.
update?
The most dynamic and powerful sound of classical guitar specially the sound of the first tree string are amazing
there is NO Tree string on the guitar?
3:48 This made me cry so hard....
Thanks for uploading this gem. What a brilliant rendition by guitar.
Such a cheerful music
This is one of my favorite transcriptions, the last part is the best and its not in the score. Genious David!
Insanely good rendition.
Graceful, simple, beautiful passacaglia
Not so "simple" if you want to sound exactly like this ;)
Excelente interpretacion hermosura de obra tambien larga vida a Russell
Que viva 100 años mas, que ser tan agradable, vino al mundo a conmover a todos los músicos.
Bravissimo musica sublime
Eu amo essa música!!!!
Simplemente sublime. Podría pasar horas oyéndola una y otra vez.
