Just saw you all in Pittsburgh. Good gravy, yinz are smooth as silk. I may or may not have cried during There Are Worst Things I Could Do. Mumford and Sons was the last thing I exoected to find here. I’m overwhelmed by your awesomeness.
OMG!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I'm a Soldier, and the first time I heard your version of Timshel I was in tears. If you ever get the chance, please sing this for Soldiers, especially our brothers with PTSD. Take their hands as you do and you'll see our healing. Your song helps me every time I need to let it out. Please keep singing. I'm looking forward to more music as soon as you feel like blessing us again.
Ladies your voices are proof that music is the crown jewel of all creation. As a sound technician never in my 14 years of experience have I heard harmony such as this. You ladies will be a hit someday!
I've been a student of the barbershop craft for a long time. I've had the privilege to sing with many great talents and coach many others. What I love about this is not only is it great singing; it pushes the style to a whole other level. I applaud your brilliance and, kudos to the producer on a fabulous piece of work :) A fan ... :)
I would not have known this was Mumford and Sons without reading that (which I mean as a compliment because you guys were really creative and made it your own). This arrangement is so well done and beautifully performed! New a cappella obsession!
More adaptations to fit this pop style might be your golden ticket. It doesn't matter what any judge says. Your passion is always because you sing together and love it as a group, ...and it's all in why you soar musically, never just in how it's done and seen by others. Keep on in your quest to be the well knitted soul bonds you've always dreamed and knew from day one.
This is SO beautiful. Thank you for choosing such beautiful lyrics to rest your lovely voices and arrangement upon. So appreciate you all for the beauty and light you bring to the world with your sweet sound. And may there always be sweet harmony...
I had the most amazing opportunity to meet this amazing artists last night at The A Cappella Bull City Slam! My high schools Advanced Chorus opening up for them and many other ridiculously talented groups! They are by far my favorite acappella group! Thank you for an awesome night last night! COME BACK SOON!
a million times: amazing. the left to right placement of the parts in the recording is so perfect. it's all perfect, i mean, but with headphones in that was just so huge, especially at 3:16 when the harmonies were so perfect that it seemed to go away!
Your voices come from Heaven girls, im sure of it. This song mixed with your voices calm down the soul and bring me to tears every single time i hear it. Thank you
This one gave me the chills, incredible, beautiful! My soul's filled with joy when I hear your gorgeous music. I prefer listening to you over any men's quartet now, no joke. Such a nice surprise to have stumbled upon your music.
WOW..... that was simply amazing.... haunting.... drew you in.....showed love abounding.... and made me laugh at the end with the antlers.....lolol. Thanks for sharing such incredible work!!!
You're all fantastically talented. The harmonies are incredibly precise. If, for some reason or another, you were to ever do 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B' I think I might swoon.
Hi, I am a student living in Korea. I got to watch a video today for the first time. It seems to listen well. Because I am using a translator, the word can be strange. Please play so good above zero and song in the future. buy~
This was amazing!!! So cool that you guys have an alumni from North Harford!!! North Harford pride :) definitely gives me hope that I can succeed in music :)) awesome!!!
Excellent stuff. I'm from Great Britain and we need more high quality stuff like this, especially in our Pop / Youth music! Do you sell sheet music of your arrangements? If not, I might be able to put you in touch with someone who could help you in the USA and overseas!!
DAYUM! Katie, I totally get why you wanted this thing to get big. Glad we had the chance to sing together before you get all famous and stuff ;-) Maybe you girls can do a performance at the school I teach!
GQ, Our choir director discovered you guys on TH-cam and we fell in love with your videos! We were wondering if we could perform this in our schools spring concert? Also, Do you happen to have the sheet music for this that you could email me? Of course we could sit and try to listen and pick the parts but I'm trying to save us some time. We would be sure to say that it was your arrangement and originally performed by you! Thank you so much, ~Lindsay, Alli, Tati, and Liv
A little surprised they didn't switch genders in the lyrics ("as brothers we will stand" to "sisters") but it was an amazing studio recording. *goosebumps*
That's fine it's fine I'll just be here trying to comprehend the goddamn magical fucking sounds that just bought my ears dinner and then brought them back to his two million dollar water view condo just south of Beverly Hills where he then proceeded to make sweet love to them but accidentally got them pregnant but became the best father he could and raised a doctor. You slay me. YAS Katie Mac. YAS Amanda. YAS Allie. YAS Katie g (best section leader) Y'all gave me some feels lemme tell you.
Well I, for one, do not like this arrangement. The baseline feels awkward and skips many important chord changes, making the amazing idea behind Timshel sound flat and sleepy. The top three are way too much into their slurs and trills, those are to be used as ornamentations on few occasions and not in the normal singing voice - it takes away so much of their power and character. My interpretation of good sound is when a chord doesn't have to adjust to sound right, but just stands in the room with a *bam*. Overall, the volume and pressure is just too high, too little room to play there which is compensated by sheer yelling at the climax, which - in combination with that huge slur there - made my toenails curl. Not all roses and appreciation today, but it had to be said. Please take it as feedback, not as an insult.
well, I for one find this arrangement true to the spirit of the original both in the emotion and in the way both the rhythmic drone and the slurs, glides and trills evoke the Celtic folk tradition. There are no 'bam' chords in that tradition, and even the stretch for notes that you are perfectly capable of hitting only adds to the emotion evoked here. It's supposed to be painful. You women have aced a bunch of very different styles over the past few years
Simon, I know you mean well with your criticisms, but to me they are wide of the mark. These women do an extraordinary job of vocal control and singing at the same dynamic level from pp all the way to ff and beyond. The bass line reminded me of some great Laurie Anderson songs from the 1980s and worked really well. I didn't miss the acoustic guitar (in the original Mumford version) at all. I don't think you can really complain about "slurring" when the group has strong roots in barbershop quartet/Sweet Adeline the way this group does. It would be like complaining about "too much melisma" in the Hallelujah Chorus by Handel.

I know it’s 8 years. This is so touching I don’t even have words
I am a struggling mother. I feel so much love from this song. I really brings me to tears
It's 2019 and this arrangement still brings me to tears every. Single. Time. I. Listen. To. It.
Thanks for this. ❤️
This is one of their best arrangements. These ladies are rated number one with me 🎶
This is how you do an a Capella arrangement and a music video. Truly, truly wonderful.
I performed this with GQ tonight and it was even more amazing in person!

Wow! I wonder if Marcus and the guys have heard this.
Sheet music for this arrangement?!

Jon Davis I personally like it when artists don't change the lyrics when doing covers. Keeps it true to the original song better
Hello this is one of your students

Yes, but why do they look constipated as they sing?

Thanks Simon! Of course this is our interpretation- not meant to sound like the original- but we appreciate your opinion ^_^
And I also appreciate some of the groups in your "ensemble" playlist! The group Lemon Squeezy doesn't suck ;)
