    I am an ex yoga teacher as well, I ran a cleaning business to fund the yoga business and eventually burnt out and now I'm a paralegal because it's easier. I agree with you NO ONE will ever brag about how much money they have or make if they actually have it.

    I've been seeing this with affiliate marketing on TikTok where people are talking about "how much money they're making" and the way they "show" people how "they can do that too" they always point to an affiliate link to an affiliate marketing class where they're taught how to do affiliate marketing...

    Am on a binge on this channel 😂. I hate with a passion any form of marketing that is about showing stripe dashboards. It's insensitive to people that are struggling also they forget they have a sizeable audience and loads of paid marketing budget.

    I hate the coaching pyramid. I’m a relationship coach but I have (one) appointment with a person > get a good understanding of the situation > give that person very specific information & techniques to get that specific relationship back to good. It’s different info depending on the person’s situation because no 2 relationships are identical. But I’m CONSTANTLY getting ads from people trying to sell me “learn how to be a coach” programs. Omg. It’s ridiculous! I hate it, I get at least 15-20 a week in my emails alone. I think they buy a list of actual coaches and email the hell out of us or something. 😅

    • @itsdanielleryan
      @itsdanielleryan  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yikes on the emails, that’s definitely illegal if you didn’t opt in 😬

    • @azpersonal
      @azpersonal ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But if you have topics that a course or group coaching can solve that's not a bad idea. For example, I know a relationship coach who has general courses for married women like communication skills, and bedroom skills as well as one on one for those who can afford that. It's a way to make more impact and get back time especially if people get results.

      Wonder how a coach with exactly what training isn’t specified thinks they’re qualified to give relationship advice. Compare your training to a masters degree in counseling or a PhD in psychology.

    I have such a similar story- I had a yoga studio for 4 years and got pulled into the “sex money magic cult” and it was so effing weird. I got scammed, traumatized and confused the fuck out of my audience. I’ve found out later that my actual online yoga biz was making 2-3x as much as the bullshit “money coaches” when they signed me on and lied about how much they were making. These people are their own terrible genre.

    Soooo are all of these people sociopaths or are they just deluded? 🤔
    And to answer your question, I 100% agree that not everyone has the time or monetary resources to devote to endless research on how to make money on the internet. In some ways, it's like trying to learn a new language. Most people aren't self-taught, and you don't know what you don't know. I am shocked and appalled by the proliferation of these get rich quick schemes. And they persist because people - even those of us who are smart and educated - keep falling for them. And this is because no one can do it alone, so we look to those with a particular are of expertise for guidance. But discerning those who are credible and those who are merely self-serving opportunists is not always intuitive. When you are desperate and impatient, you are much less likely to think critically. This is not a flaw; it's just the way we operate as humans.

    If you make claims about "Making thousands of Dollars" I will tell you that that FTC & SEC (in the US) is REALLY cracking down on that stuff. They are out looking and coaches should be on notice. I am a coach and I sleep very well at night because I make no such claims even if I do give my clients a ton of value and results.

    Wow… some of these clips of those coaches are… sorry to say it… CRINGE…
    Money is AIR?!? Whhhhat?
    And I’m a long time manifestation Hippy myself…
    That just makes the spiritual community look soooooo fake and it completely discredits those who actually work in the spiritual space… I’ve been in energy work and working within the spiritual space for 10 years.
    There is more to money than just air… 🫠🫠🫠
    I fully understand what she was trying to articulate… but dangggg if she just would have taken a few moments to think about what she wanted to say… BEFORE saying it…
    Because… #1 those manifestation beliefs aren’t correct, the way she stated it. She’s oversimplifying it at best, at worst… she’s flat out lying. #2 she makes the whole spiritual community look like charlatans. #3 Now that clips lives on the internet FOREVER… 😅
    And I fully support letting people “believe,” whatever they believe, as long as it’s not causing harm…
    But if your coaching people for MONEY… you shouldn’t just going around making fantastical statements and claims like money means NOTHING… money is air… etc 😑😑😑

If i didnt see it in action with little mental changes and i am not positive patty I still have terrible negative feelings.. I hate that you were scammed.. And your opinion is absolutely valid. Honestly, I don't know the answer to this question because when you're IN it, it's very hard to be reasoned with. You are essentially told anyone who is trying to convince you it's a scam/unethical/etc is just a hater and you believe it.
      A lot of snapping out of it comes on your own terms or seeing content that suggests otherwise and makes you start thinking about it from a new perspective... it's tricky.

    I think you’re too easy on these people who don’t sound very smart or even well prepared to me. They take a real concept and show how little they know about it .they clearly have not even read any of the good books out there. I think the plan is that if they get 2 or 3 clients a year they’re doing better than they did before.

      It's not that it doesn't make sense... it's that the people who are operating these businesses are knowingly (or in some cases unknowingly) exploiting vulnerable people. In fact, many of the people who pay THOUSANDS of dollars for these "programs" are left in worse off positions than when they started... therefore actually changing their lives for the worse.
      So contrary to your comment, I believe it's ABSOLUTELY important we bring light to these scammy practices. Most of the content these "coaches" teach is easily found for free online but instead they tack on an inflated price tag and sell people on the dream of achieving a better reality. If they're interested in becoming entrepreneurs, they should go and start an actual business instead of perpetuating a cycle with no value.
