    Cut the block and start at the bottom. There will be more uplift at the eaves than the ridge.

      If I understand you correctly, the block itself provides uplift resistance if done correctly.
      I try not to add inconvenience into our methods unless code, intuition, or real world experience says to. I do agree that the horizontal eave undergoes more uplift pressure than the ridge and raked eave.
      I heard a story of a building (in our area) that the outlookers and sub fascia were literally ”flopped over” onto the roof due to wind. Including the shingles and soffit! That was because they didn’t use the H-1 clips every 4 feet.
