  • Today we are going to Rice’s Market. It’s an iconic market located in the New Hope area for the past 150 years. It is on the corner of Greenhill Road and Mechanicsville Rd. This particular market will grab your mind and keep you enthralled time and time again. With a variety of shopping choices, it’s a wonder that it’s only open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7 AM to 1 PM.
As you arrive at Rice’s Market, you will notice two parking areas. They are on either side of the market, so it should be pretty easy to find parking. Walk around a little to get a feel for where everything is. The entire market covers 30 acres of land, so it might take some time to get it done and you might need multiple trips.
Make sure you go there with an open mind. One might think that they are going to go get one thing, or maybe two, but when it comes down to it, the great food, cute handcrafted items, antiques, and even flowers will keep you shopping. But that’s not all. You will have to go there just to see all the options they have.
Rice’s Market is one of those places that should be on your bucket list. It really shows the culture of creativity growing in Bucks County. And anyone who knows Bucks County, knows what a beautiful county this is. We hope you enjoyed the video and take the opportunity to go to Rice’s Market yourselves. As always, keep Squeezing the Day! See you soon.

I agree with Farmer Acob. We’ve lived in Bucks County for 25 years and raised our family here. Rice’s has gone downhill over the past years. Prices aren’t any better than at grocery stores, even in season, when local produce is plentiful. There are still plenty of local farmers in the area…there is no reason farm to table products can’t be enhanced at Rice’s unless there is poor market management is the problem. Maybe this season it will be better. Looking for more locally sourced produce to help support local farmers. We need them now more than ever.

Thanks for sharing. It's hard to support local markets/farmers some times. It would be great if there were more local markets like what we've seen while traveling around SEAsia. You might like some of those videos.

Back in the 1970s Rice's was all antiques and collectibles.

We love Rice's. I think they're trying to grow to stay up with the times. Maybe the same with Peddler's Village. We love the gardening section.

@@SQUEEZEtheDAY I stopped going to it. I go to the antique markets in Adamstown Pa, and the Golden Nugget antique market in Lambertville NJ.

rices is a shadow of what it was. the produce vendors buy from the philly docks. and the food rots in days. the other vendors sell cheap chinese crap. there are some good local craft vendors but its nothign what it use to. no local farmers setting up tables, over prices low quality goods. this falls on the shoulders of management not encouraging local farms and vendors to come. sad indeed.

Thank you for sharing. Are you a local farmer? We appreciate local farms. Especially local markets. We've been to a couple in our travels. Love local farmers.
