I think that the hot pot cannon really captures the most fun part of playing halflings. Which is, that they aren't over powered or incredibly skilled warriors, they're just the little guys adapting their way of life to war. And I respect that.
"Moot wars" would be an interesting topic. If I remember correctly, the professional army was primarily defeated by being systematically robbed of equipment and provisions. :-D
