It has shifted our mindsets and paved way for undignified activities as long as it puts food on the table. But, here we go - a 17 year old academically brilliant male student in High School is often labelled a nerd or "uncool" and seldom gets any attention from his peers. He is interested in exploring his sexuality at that age but his female peers, who are undeniably beautiful and inexperienced, are instead dating men who are financially well-off and advanced in age, say 28-45 years of age. What do you think that experience does to that young boy? Don't you think he grows up resenting women and feeling like he missed out on experiencing sexuality with a young inexperienced woman? why must he grow up and only experience sexuality with experienced women who have been ran through ? why shouldn't he be the older guy who parks his car at the school gate, years later, and date the same school girls he did not have the ability to date earlier in his life?? the circle of life is unfair and exploitative... its as natural as it gets. It is not legal in South Africa. Age of consent is 16 only if the girl is sleeping with a boy who is 16 or not older than 18 . If the boy or man is Older than 18 then it becomes illegal. I am not saying whether this is right or wrong......but intimate relationships or love, just like most things in life are based on the law of supply and demand....not morals per se......and certain morals/ ethics are subjective depending on area, society or culture....also...love has no age limit...believe it or not....The human body matures at different paces(I'm not talking about babies who are not mature here)....if the two are in a loving relationship, and her parents are consentual/ happy with it, .....The dynamics in our society are this way.....generally, along with love, people/girls/ women value security/ money/ stability in a relationship.....in today's society...you don't really eat love...but we eat food and require security which money can provide......hence you'll often see high school girls dating taxi drivers or university women dating older men who can provide love/ food/ security to them rather than their peers...and the cycle continues...ask yourself why our society has many single parents.....the struggle is real.....especially among the townships/ slums. This type of act is not morally right in a normal society but our society is just so selfish/ opportunistic/ imbalanced...in the end...younger men may be more virile in bed but older men provide availability of security in finance.....these are equations of love.......I know this may sound low standard at least the girl wasn't raped, murdered or killed....
