That's real--your look DOES matter. People DO judge you based on your appearance. It just is what is. Accept reality, act accordingly, and reap the rewards of being the one prepared.
It’s not about caring what others think about you. Your outward appearance is the statement you make to everyone else. It’s a reflection of your values and self respect
A current debate in America is whether it's okay to laugh at clowns or not. I say, if you dress like a tart, a clown, a deviant, a priest, then expect people to react to you for that reason. Red means stop and green means go. We can't redefine that in a functional society to suit our own agenda or there is no social order. I would expect people to stare and trip if I wore a Scottish Kilt but, so long as I’m not free ballin´it, I see no reason why the subway should be in an uproar. I’m an adult gay male and if I dress like Walter Mercado at the store or in the Mall, I don’t think many would care and some might even ask me for an autograph. However, if I went across the railroad tracks like that, I might not make it out alive! Ignoring reality just isn’t safe and society is reality.
Antonio, your channel has been very helpful in forming my own style and mindset around fashion. I am a young professional in my mid 20's in a corporate environment. Most of my team mates dress casual at most with jeans and sneakers, some dress business casual. The points you make helped me see the power of wearing properly fitting formal clothes and taking care of your grooming. I feel confident performing my work and people often comment on the sharpness of my outfit. When I dress I also have the sense of accountability to match my demeanor with my clean look to make great impressions
I used to dress with baggy sweats all the time, no matter the place. I've always had good hygiene and although I work out, I looked like I didn't care (I really didn't). A year ago I started taking care of my appearance more. I started dressing up a little, no suits or anything fancy, just buying quality clothes that are well fitted and highlight my physique. I also started to take care of said clothes (washing clothes of similar colors together and hanging them to avoid wrinkles instead of throwing them on the bed). Bought a sick pair of Nike's, which get me compliments every single day and some accessories (a chain and a pair of watches) to complete my look. And on top of that I started a skincare routine, a new fragrance collection and went to a barber who helped me find a personalized haircut that is more trendy and fits my personality and now my beard always looks sharp. All of this definitely helped me boost my confidence, which wasn't lacking in the first place and it skyrocketed me to a better mental state. I cannot describe the world of a difference that made. I have never received as many compliments in my whole entire life put together than I have in the past year or so, whether that is on my physique, my clothing, my smell/hygiene, my style or even my personality. Women keep eyeing me up everywhere I go and they often tell me how much of a good-looking guy I am. I've even been told that I can obviously pull women 😂 and I dated the hottest girl from work, one of the prettiest girl I've ever seen. Too bad she was for the streets... But hey, at least I can rub it in her face by having all the other girls at work around me lmao. Take care of yourselves kings and life will suddenly be a notch easier 👍
Great Video Antonio, you nailed it with this one. appearance and grooming is a must, you feel better about yourself and you will get recognized without even knowing it. Over the past year and a half of wearing suits and dressing down (dress shirts, trousers, V-neck sweater/turtle neck depending on time of year) I have noticed that people treat me differently than just wearing sweats or a hoodie with jeans, It also helps your mental state when you do dress up nice since it gives you a sense of routine in the morning and boosts your confidence. True story, I shop at a mens store near my home and the manager was so impressed with my style and confidence along with other qualifications that he wanted to hire me on the spot. Keep up the good videos!

🎯 I've found both men and women thinking it's a mark of manliness to show as little interest in your appearance as possible. Heavily implying that it's the last thing a man should care about. The less care the more manly. Makes no sense.
@@JesusISdaonlyway indeed it doesn’t. I guess being a rugged blue collar worker is manly, but even those dudes clean off the mess and mud when it’s time to go somewhere fancy
The only time I ever looked at a person and thought they were homeless was when they were laying on the sidewalk or begging for handouts. Never once have I looked at someone wearing whatever and thought man, they must be homeless. But you're right. Image does matter and like you said, it doesn't mean you have to wear a suit. Just wear what fits you and works for you.
This is amazing, Antonio! Thank you! I’ve been sending your videos to my 15 year old son who is showing interest in style and dressing well. This is a great one! Thank you so much for continuing to put so much value into your videos for YEARS! So grateful for your consistency! I hope you and your family are doing well, even through this challenging season with the war in Ukraine 💔🙏🏼
It really surprises me how little effort people put into their appearance in public. I typically wear button down shirts and chinos and I constantly get comments about how well I’m dressed! I’m not even trying. It’s just the way I feel my personal style is. However, I just see that people aren’t really trying and are impressed easily with minimal effort.
I mean it's an old instinct to judge people based on the first impression and to kinda sort them into specific categories. We people aren’t rational at all, so better always keep that in mind. First impression is key, the way you look and talk is important to get further in life. If you don’t get that, nothing else can help you. The truth isn’t always kind.
Even though I dress better than 90% of men my age I still struggle with confidence and often times i even feel more insecure when I’m dressed up because I feel like everyone is looking at me and I don’t know what to do about it.
I'm 35 but people guess 27-30. Here's the thing, if I wear a t-shirt with uncombed hair, I get carded everytime. If I wear a nice shirt and comb my hair, I never get carded. Personal proof that appearance matters.
Great video! I like the 3 F's: Fit, Fabric, and Fun! It's not about being yourself, it's about being the best you that you can be, in every way! I'm 69 years old, and I've always been the guy in the room that attracts other people the most. This is all because I took my dad's advice to heart: You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

@@antoinecharlesdegaulle580 I hit rock bottom at 26 years old. Wearing casual clothes. Once I turned 30 I decided never to go back to dressing “casual” ever again for the rest of my life. I learned a lot about style and culture in Ireland and Spain over Christmas. Went to the horse races near Dublin and saw hundreds of Irish dressed up. It was enlightening. If we take Dublin into ratio, because they dress mostly in black, dark gray and midnight blue, there is a lot of vibrancy in shoes, socks, pants, scarfs but nearly none in shirts, coats and haircuts. I saw TWO out of two thousand Irish men with a unique haircut. I call the vast majority «Man cut #1». It’s bald around the ears, which for me looked ridiculous, and a fade to the top, often with a scalping in the back and long bangs. I’d say has to be cut every four weeks minimum. Not to have that haircut would make you «a rebel». I find it impossible to believe that European men have these super narrow long feet compared to Americans but, the shoes are that. Like elf feet, with pointed toes. American males are beefier, wider and much more stocky. The style would have to compliment that fact. Not fat, to say but, thicker, more bronco looking. In Spain, the men are perfect. Spaniard men are the definition of style, smell, gorgeous hair and skin and great looks.
Not conforming to what society wants, but also caring about my image in order to put my best foot forward. For all of my 20s that seemed like such a fine line to walk and I couldn't tell the difference. Now I get it though. Especially that rich billionaire video you made about image and setting the frame, it cleared up a lot with words/a perspective I never heard before. It's the reason why old Jeremy fragrance was so good. He was himself but with a controlled image of himself.
So after doing a lot of assignments, I eventually get to a point where I'm so tired I don't really give much care into my grooming. Until one day, I ran into a dear friend of mine, and I felt bad after seeing her because she looked all pretty, and I looked like I came out of the Stone Age . So taking care of my grooming and appearance has become a priority for me.
