I've finished the game (only story and challenge mode not temple and Vearn) and god damn I didn't expect to have so much fun, when I saw my playtime I was like wtf how did I play so much. And Indeed the gameplay for me + the Temple of Recollection + challenge mode are really fun. Gameplay is simple but it require to have skill and I enjoy that (unless you are just farming too much). However I agree with what you said in the video, I know this game is small, has developpement issue and have problems here and there but it is funny how Review and Streamer said this game is the worst thing ever whereas it is clearly not lol I've played a tons of real garbage anime game these past years.
I like the game for what it is, but it definitely has big flaws that can't be ignored. Much like yourself, I feel it lacks content and that's my biggest issue. But ultimately combat is fun and I love the anime which kept me powering through. I will say that the Temple of Recollection is awesome and I love the roguelike elements. I ended up liking that aspect of the game significantly more than I thought I would.

The Tower of Recollection is fun, haven't been able to reach the last floor but yesterday I managed to unlock Medroa and I stopped because it was getting late. Like the game, I think it's fun. But it certainly isn't for everyone.
This game is special to me, becuase it's the only dragon quest dai game we have. And i really loved the game play/mechanics. The perfect dodges and perfect guards are awesome!😁

Well, I haven't had the chance to play the game yet since my playasia package got delayed.... This is what I expected, so no suprises there for me. Still I want to play it and I welcome a short game from time to time. Best way to experience Dai for me will always be the manga. It doesn't have any censorship as the anime, and it's the complete experience. And with the Avan manga, it's even more complete now :) Anime will be a close second, but the pacing in the re-animated sagas was all over the place.... They could have done a better job there. They rushed those in order to get to the new material, and because of that we don't have a definitive animated version. Thankfully, once we hit the Baran saga everything gets better
I like this game, it def has its problems but it has its upsides too. The lack of content was quite upsetting, once i got past the final cutscene and the credits started rolling, i said to myself out loud, "thats it?" and I knew going in that it would stop there but I just figured there would have been something cause the story still sets up so much but then just ends. Like the fact we never got to see a cg model for leona in ANY cutscene is super saddening or that she was playable, the story stops right before it starts getting SUPER good, and like maybe they will make some dlc like outfits or characters or maybe MAYBE even the rest of the story but for the rest of the story is just copium. I think people were a bit too harsh on the combat, its it anything unique? No, but is there some depth to it ya, like animation cancels the fact u can time the 3rd hit which deals a little more dmg but takes longer animation so its more risk, but it charges a ton more of ur abilities than just mashing would, its not just a hack'n'slash (except for the normal enemy zones in the beggning). Music is great animations models and cg are great I wish they had more of it. Starting challenge mode but will have to see where it comes from here doubt dlc will happen unless maybe a character but the fact vearn is in the last dungeon doesnt make me hopeful for more story. Has its problems but has its upsides like I said but 100 percent better if u were already a fan of dai going in
Heard the game only covered half the anime which was an instant turn off. I'd understand if the series was Naruto or One Piece lengths but its only 100 episodes. 1 RPG adaptation should cover that no problem. Back in the day DB Burst Limit had this same issue They purposely limited the scope to ending at Cell Saga because they we're hoping to milk out a BL2 which mever panned out. Feel like the same mindset is being applied here trying to set up the future for Infinity Strash 2... which again... is unessarry. Its like Dragon Quest 8 ending at Dhoulmagus and saying to be continued in DQ8-2.
People just keep repeating this and I feel like it's a way of just passively hating on something you know you can't outright call trash. There thousands of games that are not worth 60 that get praised every year. This game literally has a mode that encourages you to stop all story progression and go play to beef your character up. Not to mention challenge mode. There is definitely enough here to get $70 worth of hours out of. No way you're constantly using the temple of recollection, playing side missions, and playing the game, then doing challenge mode in like 20 something hours. Which is what a $30 game would be around.
I was wishing it was an open world, it's the last time i preorder a game, won't buy anything before someone else try it before i buy it. I would better preorder assasins creed instead of this.

If they do DLC and complete the Story then I will most likely buy the game... but for now shit feels incomplete.
