Hello Mr.Hank, nice video today. I am a young scale modeler who has only been doing models for a year and you inspired me to create my own YT channel a few months ago which I did and you techniques are so good. Thank you for the amazing content.
Good video, I've tried painting that camo pattern and looks similar to your work however I don't know everything about German camouflage and was not aware the helmet covers were not painted in Pea dot camo. Looks like I need to go back and fix some figures. Keep up the good work Hank.
I'm discovering more shades of paint to use from AK interactive and finding books with color photos from uniforms and equipment these past few years helps a lot to.
Wow, that looks AMAZING! Well done! Figures are the absolute BANE of my modeling existence! I mostly build in 1/48 scale and the figures drive me NUTS (specifically the eyes!)Could you do a tutorial on 48 scale figures, please?😀. Thanks! Cheers
Good informative video!! Have actually attempted this technique before with various degrees of convincingness. May have to try again. Anyway, do remember Tamiya use to offer DECAL SHEETS of the various camo patterns during the 1990s and early 2000s - still have a few of those laying around somewhere. Problem with those sheets was that Tamiya really did not tell you how to use them -, unless my memory was wrong, and I totally suck at modeling (which is probably the real reason).
I commented similar on his oakleaf ,he's not getting the colours right on any of these uniforms ...the peak dot was a salmon pink so I totally agree with you on using a flesh colour. And whoever asked which flesh it doesn't matter just use a flesh Ans
Just curious Hank, what brushes would you say work the best for figure paintng? You mentioned using the smallest brush you have- would you say a 0/10 or a 0/20 at the very least?
@@SpruesNBrews omg you answer! I love your videos! Will you add the strap? I would like to see how you make your straps! Even tho I watched a video on you making straps and I used that trick. I didn’t know if you found out a new way to make them
You make it look so easy Hank, great work and to your usual high standards. 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it - thank you for watching 👍
Probably my favorite WW2 German camo - well done!
You honor the men who wore the uniforms and crewed the vehicles that you paint. My uncles Matthew and Elmer would probably say thank you.

@@megandarling2215 that's very cool, I'm glad there are other young people in this hobby!
Nice tutorial Hank. Simple but effective. Especially for us modelers who need all the help we can receive. Thanks to you and Roger.
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear it was helpful - happy building! 👍
@@SpruesNBrewshello! How long you wait from Dark Wash process to remove it with thinner?
Thanks for the info. I've been having a rough time painting figures lately.
Practice makes progress! I'm learning a little bit more with each figure I paint - stick with it!

Pretty interesting, right? I didn't know before I made this video, either! 😲

Me too guess I have to change some!
@@megandarling2215 AK Interactive has been really helpful in providing info and color pieces to see the actual item of uniform or equipment.
Such a great tutorial and just when i happen to need it! Thank you so much!!

Verlinden used to put out sheets that were adhesive - but they were way too shiny and a bit light in colour.
Great video on the german pea-dot camo. Cant wait to try it out.
Awesome! Could you make a painting tutorial on Alpine 35171 and 35186 figures please?
Try changing orange wash for pink wash.
kind suggestion - don't using khaki, instead use flesh. you may also want to use more of a mint green instead of a field green color
Flesh from whom? And No name?
I would assume Vallejo
@@beacondude5000 same I didn’t know if it was flat flesh

Cheers Hank nice video
Thanks very much!
A toothpick is your best friend to replicate this pattern on Bolt action figures.
Do you have any knowledge of 8th air force AAF in North Africa.
Wow this looks amazing! Better than what I can do oh and your guy G43 doesn’t seem to have a strap mmmm.
He seems to have lost it! 😅
