    I had my 2016 for over a month now , and coming from a 2007 700eps , and a 2003 660 before that.. I will say the biggest jump in handling came in 2007 , Yamaha nailed the Grizzly Chassis and suspension...
    The 2007-2013 Grizzlys Handle Amazing! They can be rode as hard a sport machines down the trail , and maintain a strait , non-bucking bronco style ride (The 660 bucked all over).
    In 2014 they widened it , but I never rode one..
    In 2016 they widened more , and tweaked the overall setup a bit..
    THIS MACHINE IS AMAZING ,, FAST FAST FAST. .SMOOTH...
    ok ,, no it won't win drag races against a 800 or 1000 , so if you have a tiny pecker problem , and need to have ULTIMATE HP !! move along and buy your Can Am or Polaris disposable ATV's...
    On a technical trail the Yamaha Grizzly will outperform ALL others , and more importantly, be way more reliable to get you through the woods all weekend long !
    13 years Riding Grizzly Monsters ,, ZERO PROBLEMS.

      I agree that if one owns a Polaris 850-1000 then they better know how to turn a wrench because with that power comes broken parts , axles , drivetrain ect.. Ect. With my schedule I don't have time to fix atv's all day, I work 70 hrs a week in most instances so I want a bike with no maintenance issues that I can hop on in my free time.. Having 80hp is nice to have but isn't necessary or practical where I ride so the grizzly is a good fit . Sporty and reliable trumps speed.

    I’ll take this any day of the week over a 1000cc piece of crap. Something you can ride everyday and not break something. Japanese quads don’t make 100hp 1000cc quads because they don’t want to throw away their bulletproof reputation. If they wanted to Yamaha and Kawasaki could make a engine that would mop the floor with Polaris and CanAm. They want to make quads that still last 20 years, not a HP king that’s broke in the garage every week

    Best looking Grizz yet, for sure. But I've been hearing some issues with them, and many coming from die hard Yamaha fans. I used to be a Yamaha fan, but then I rode a Kawasaki and got "enlightened". Now I'm firmly in the Kawie camp even though I still have two Yamahas! My Kawie is just a hoot to ride, and it's actually been cheaper to keep on the trails than my Yamahas (not that they were bad by any means).

    If not a Honda ... Yamaha would be next best thing ... Sure can ams look the best and being Canadian I prefer skidoo in snow mobiles... And if I was 20 again I love speed but now 52 and wiser not so much lol...But for dependability i have to go with Honda...gas n go!!!

    I wish the painted and metallic colors stood up better to wear and tear. I'll be sticking with the colored plastic. Even though the painted versions look better.

    Talk about fanboys, ATV Scene is all about the Japanese brands. Never hear them bragging about Polaris, Can-Am and Textron. I’m sure I’ll get all kinds of hate over this and say there all junk, which is false in every way. Polaris and Can-Am wouldn’t sale more than anybody else if they was that bad. The Japanese brands don’t even come close to comparing to these 2 companies in power, handling or suspension. And not to mention you get more for what you pay for compared to the Japanese brands as well. That’s just my opinion though, but facts speak for themselves.

    Would sure be nice if you guys doing the reviews would be a little more honest.
    I have put almost 100 miles on mine and em not at all impressed with the power. I was expecting more. Still have a suzuki king quad 700 and 750, also got a friend with a couple 2012 grizzlies. Those are what I'm comparing it to. Really should have more get up and go power.
    My other major complaint is it pushes the front end when turning, it acts like you have 200 lbs on the back, sliding the backend around is about the only way to turn this new grizzly. I've talked to two others that have just received their new grizzlies and both have the same complaints.

      Curtis Bull
      Curtis, this is John Pellan, the person that did the ride review and made this video. ATV Scene is and always has been an unbiased and honest publication. I loved the Grizzly, I agree a little more power would be nice, but I have to think this new 708cc engine is going to take well to future mods. As you probably know, just uncorking it with a filter and exhaust will wake it up if you want to get more power out of it. Add some clutch work and I bet it would be pretty respectable against any stock big bore 4x4.. As for handling, if I had a 2012 Grizzly and even a brad new KingQuad, much less an older one, my lap times on the 2016 Grizzly would be much faster and I would be much less tired. I didn't experience pushing at all, on the contrary I was impressed at how well it tracked and responded to where I aimed it. The non EPS version is a chore to turn, especially in hard terrain after you've been riding all day. I take it that's the unit you purchased?

    • @cbull316
      @cbull316 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I got the blue one with eps. Not sure why but it definitely pushes when going slow, at fast speeds it seems great, but at faster speeds your sliding the back end around to help turn rather then let the front end do the turning.
      It's also true that this new grizzly is probably quite a bit faster then the king quads, brutes or older grizzly at railing the trails or racing on a track of some sort. But it's going to lose in a drag race with your buddies. And most everyone enjoys a little drag racing once in a while!
      I'm hoping intake, exhaust, and some kinda tuner will completely change this machine, it does look pretty chocked up. I'm sure a clutch kit will be needed as well, I feel yamaha could have done a much better job in that department.
      I just wish consomers like me could get better reviews then what we get. All positive and very little to no negative.

      So with your experience of riding in many terrains and different quads if you were going to buy a brand new 2016 quad which would you go with, the Grizzly 700 eps, the King Quad 750 power steering or Polaris 850 sp?

    • @curtisbull1583
      @curtisbull1583 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +tnielson1
      For me, another kind quad. Faster and turns a lot better.
      At faster speeds you'll probably be happy with the new grizzly but at slow technical type riding you'll probably hate it. I find myself riding my 06 KingQuad 700 a lot these days. I will say, the new grizzly is really nice in the rough stuff, very smooth and cushiony seat too.

    Is there a reason Yamaha thinks everyone needs big ass engines in there ATVs? There's a 700 in everything now, what happen to the 550 Grizzlies? Perhaps it's my age showing but I don't give a sh*t if my atv can do a rolling wheelie or out run the other guys. I don't so much mind the 700 size so much as it bothers me to have to pay for it when I could be saving money on a 500 class atv.

      Scott F. What about canam outlander 1000

    • @scottfurlong5475
      @scottfurlong5475 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christopher Bassit Not really sure what you mean by that, I don't want a 1000. Furthermore, neither Cam Am, Arctic Cat nor Polaris would force anyone to by a 1000 if they want one of their products. I actually want a Yamaha atv and I've come to find out that the 550 Grizzly is gone. Even the Kodiak 450 is gone. No offense to the Can Am guys out there, my brother is one, but I wouldn't have one. They're not as good as their price would suggest. I have a polaris and I haven't had any major issues but I'm not interested in going that way again. I just think Yamaha has abandoned the segment.

    • @christopherbassit2757
      @christopherbassit2757 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott F. All I'm saying is there are bigger quads than the 700. Yamaha has had the 700 since 2007 when I was in first grade and it was my dream to get one and still is. Since then I've gotten into dirt bikes but before I'm 25 I want a new grizzly 700

    • @scottfurlong5475
      @scottfurlong5475 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christopher Bassit Yes, I'm with you there. I've been wanting one for years. I was just at the dealer today looking at a blue eps model. Absolutely stunning ATV!

      ***** My opinion is that the 2016 Griz looks much better and prior years and has improved features. Kudos to Yamaha! ...708cc is respectable in comparison to its competition. They still seem to dominate in the true 'lock out' diff. My theory is the bigger and faster the engine the quicker you get to hit the tree! ;-) ...and my current and past rides have been Honda Rubicon's... I had a 2003 and still own a 2005 Rubicon (499cc Hondamatic trans) Carbonated, swing arm, no power steering... these features are killing me on the very rough and rocky trail riding.

    • @WoZIMoo
      @WoZIMoo 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MrBonami2 The old 700 made 47hp. A 6% increase therefore gives it 50hp and not 62hp. Easy math.

      WoZIMoo the old 700 did 49 or 50 hp if i remember welll

      +MrBonami2 Look up ATV horsepower ratings on the forums. The old 700 (686cc) did 46.9hp or 35kW. The only single that made 50hp was the King Quad 750.

      lrgman1313 I was serious , giving you a opportunity to prop up Polaris... I am a YAMAHA fan boy ,, yes.
      Do you have anything to add , other than literally everything dude ?
      Yamaha has a internal clutch that keeps the belt from slipping , Polaris does not.
      Yamaha has 4 wheel disc brakes , Polaris does not.
      Yamaha has TRUE on command , no questions asked DIFF LOCK , Polaris does not
      Yamaha has a Reputation of "QUALITY" and "RELIABILITY" , Polaris most certainly does NOT.
      Yamaha uses STEEL to build their racks , Polaris uses PLASTIC.. yet still weigh more..
      Polaris IS MORE POWERFUL....and does ride smooth...
      Yamaha is going to make a larger bore soon , and although I find it to be unnecessary , you will be out of advantages......
