    Nice job, I too own a 2016 EPS and added a winch. For the what it's worth department....I extended the cables for the winch contactor and mounted it under the seat to eliminate it from geting all mudded up as there are 3 contacts there i didn't want to introduce so much water/mud for corrosion concerns. I did minimal mods but I did put the Grizzley weights in the clutch and the aluminum armor too to protect the underside. I too decided to buy the Kodiak for the footprint over the Grizzley- same engine......I love it!!!! Thanks for the review- now you're making me think about changing out the bulbs to LED's! I put Pit Bull radial Growlers tires on after stock tires were shot. They are amazing! ride safe!!!!!

    Nice job man. I just bought my second kodiak gave my first one to my grandson. I came across your video, you did such a good job going over I watched again with him and we subscribe. It's good for him to hear it from someone closer to his age so it's not just Opa talking safety. Thanks man.

    They have a 2021 base model locally for 7299. I’d like a locker though. The grizzly is bank though.

      Need the locker and most importantly eps!

    • @kyjelly5524

      @@quadmania59 is that mandatory? I think my girl needs it for sure but idk. I’ve only ridden a quad 2 times. Not sure what to get. If I get the kodiak with eps it seems like I should just go for the grizzly at that point lol.
      The kingquad 750 looks cool too. I just want reliability, locker. I want eps too but then it gets expensive. Any help?

    • @quadmania59

      @@kyjelly5524 Stick with Yamaha and stay away from Suzuki. In that case, skip the eps! Should be fine. Kodiak is a great bike and you will not be disappointed!

    What an excellent review young man. I love my kodiak eps, really wish I had the diff lock but still love it. Ordered elka stage 4 shocks front and rear put in 18g clutch weights, put on roc riser bar kit and added 25” maxis bighorn radials on 12” steel itp steel wheels

      Michael. j Arciero I have all the parts in my garage the tires included. Haven’t put them on yet. I was running 26” kenda bear claws on 14” wheels but I had overheating problems and seemed like it was struggling. Side note, I just bought a 2020 foreman rubicon dct deluxe and this kodiak is waaay faster and handles better. The Honda is a tight machine good for work and comfort but for hardcore trails and fun riding I chose the kodiak for sure.

    I disagree with Jeep Machines. I want to hear about add ons and how the Kodiak performs too. I am leaning towards Kodiak 700 EPS as 450 will be underpowered for running a set of Camso tracks through a metre of snow up hills.
    I'm always interested in what riders are changing on their machines and why. That's how a person can learn and gather information.
    Thanks for the video!

    I have the Kodiak, nice machine. It’s a work horse, I replaced a 1986 Kawasaki Bayou and the original-tires still hold, never had a flat in 30 plus years. If the Kodiak is that good it’s remarkable. Both are used as work machines, with the occasional recreational ride.

    Your review def helped in deciding between the kodiak and grizzly. Money wasnt an issue and if your already spending 9k what's another 1k . I did like the smaller footprint of the kodiak and the look slightly better. I got a 2018 kodiak 700 eps armor grey and couldn't be happier. Only have 7 miles on it so far it's just so hot in these vegas deserts it's hard to get more time on em. Haha. Anyhow great machine mods are def gonna start rolling in

    I just got a 18 eps gray color. It’s sweet so far only really rode a little bit but I am excited to ride again. So how would you say these Yamahas last? I know Honda is a great product but I like the look of the Yamaha and also the power is better. So I heard you have had a few Yamahas, so any issues out of any of them? just was curious your thoughts on kodiak? Good review thanks for putting the time in. Also had a question when I press the foot break it makes a clicking sound have you ever experienced that at all? Mostly if I’m going down a hill or some speed

    • @quadmania59
      @quadmania59  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Yamaha's hold up just as good as the Honda's. Make sure to stay up to date with maintenance and you should be fine. Only serious problem I experienced was a power steering failure on my 2012 Grizzly 450. The Kodiak 700s are awesome. I am on my second one. Be sure to check out my newer videos and please subscribe.

      had a question man, you've had this a while.. What would you say is a safe level for mud and water? j/w I don't really go past my tires, is that to much you think if your tires are almost buried? or going through water that high? have you went through any mud n stuff?

    • @quadmania59
      @quadmania59  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DiscipleJon84 Obviously you shouldn't have mud/water over the height of your tires but it's safe to say that the Kodiak does very well in deep water. Yamaha mounted the air filter and intake very high on this machine and personally, I've had it pretty submerged and everything's running fine.

    • @DiscipleJon84
      @DiscipleJon84 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah I don't plan on going farther than tires, thanks for the reply btw. I had it past the foot places, but not that far, id say it was prob 2' or less, you think that's too much? or lol, im just new to the mud stuff so I dont' wanna kill it.. I want it to last

    Have you had any dust getting past the filter into the opening of the throttle body? That is an issue with the 2016+ Grizzlies and Kodiak's. If you look at the filter, you will probably see that it sags a bit downwards and is not pressed up well against the filter housing. Nice review.

    • @quadmania59
      @quadmania59  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My17A I have heard of this issue, but haven't come upon it yet. For added power, and more security, I am planning on buying an aftermarket K&N filter.

    • @My17A
      @My17A 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bet if you go out to your machine right now and have a look, you will see the stock filter sagging down a bit so that it is not pressed against the forward wall of the filter box. it's a quick fix though. Just stuff a small towel or rag between the end of the filter and the airbox housing so that it presses the foam against the housing and seals it better.

      My17A Alright, thanks for letting me know. I gotta check on that.

      @quadmania59  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. I almost went with 26' Bighorns. They are one of my favorite ATV tires. If you are happy with the power of your Kodiak right now, don't do the clutch kit. They say that the stock clutches can handle anything under a 27'. So you should be good. Also, use high range with everything you do, except for steep grade downhills/uphills and towing.
