It's great to see such an awesome ambassador for your company. I may not understand everything Tim is talking about due to my "technical" limitations, but he is a great instructor on how things work. We are in great hands when Tim is doing what he is doing, so thanks to you, and thanks to Tim.
Funny enough, i bought this cause i didnt want to spend a lot on an Arp Odyssey plugin and learned this can do similar Arp sounds. Solid job, and one of my favorite soft synths I picked up
Well, I’m convinced (not that I really needed much to convince me). I think I paid $300 bucks for my used Octave Cat back in the early 80’s and I regret selling it to this very day. I think about it all the time and marvel at what I did with it back then whenever I pull out my old 4 track tapes. It was my first synth and I am overjoyed to be able to finally get a recreation. Thanks!
My first synth too. Great to have it again in a form that doesn't need retuning every 10 mins. Totally forgot it did not have a modulation wheel, but then I remembered that I modded mine and added a foot pedal that could sweep the modulation amount.
Another excellent presentation by Tim. Another excellent release from CA. Point is that we all get used to this excellence. This means we want to have more... I am sure we will see other huge things from these guys. I am in a foolish love with Elka X. It's simply marvellous
Excellent video, as always, ...and I want to say that I love Cherry Audio, but I have a number of their synths now, and I stopped using them altogether. Being presented with a login screen every time I try instantiating one of their plugins in a DAW is not the music making experience I'll pay for again. Yes, I paid for the plugins, and no, I don't want to log in and install an update every time I try using their plugin. I want to make music, and I'd assume that everyone else does. I don't want to find out how this would go on a long flight, opening a song that uses their synths, or trying to instantiate one. Also, I don't understand why Cherry Audio's demos use white noise during the demo period, and then stop working completely when the demo period is over. I find it all extremely Draconian and user/customer unfriendly. Maybe it's just me, and I'm OK with that.
Please contact Support, as something else is going on it seems. You should only have to log in *once*, just to activate. If everyone was going through what you’re going through, we wouldn’t be in business long. And your demo issue may be related to that as well. It’s not supposed to just stop working, and we test the demo functionality before releasing each product. cherryaudio.kayako.com/conversation/new
@@CherryAudiovst glad to hear that it's just me. All my purchased CA plugins are asking me to "please login to the Cherry Audio server", including the app versions. I'm on a Mac M1, primarily using Bitwig, and no other plugins are misbehaving. I'll reach out.
@@henrik3657 Maybe. I have a firewall (OPNsense) protecting my home network. It'd be sad if they've cooked up some anti-piracy scheme that relies on people having open network ports, and no firewalls though. I also hope that there is no requirement for an active internet connection, as that would also put an end to me ever buying another of their plugins, and want to use the ones I already own. I'll post what the problem is, if we manage to figure it out.
I Googled a bit, TLDR; Cherry Audio is tracking users without our knowledge or consent (or possibly hidden in the fine print). Every time we instantiate one of their plugins, if there's an active internet connection, the plugin will call home. I was not aware of this when I purchased their plugins, I never consented to it, and had I known, would not have purchased anything. So, there's nothing here to fix on my end. @cherryaudiovst, let me know if you're interested in refunding my purchases of CA2600, DCO-106, MemoryMode, Voltage Modular, and Eight Voice, as I'm not able to use any of them.
I love Cherry Audio, II REALLY do. That said, I would love for CA to tackle a MAJOR beast again. The best source for a Matrix 12 is Arturia's Matrix 12 V which is pretty nice, but, I suspect CA could really nail it. Also, the good old Kurzweil PC3 took waveforms from the very rare ARP 2500 monster. Would CA consider a complete emulation of this hard-to-find synth? Of the two, I would really love a Matrix 12 emulation. CA, you can do it!!!!
Cool choice of synth and the added fx & sequencer look absolutely awesome! Excellent demo by Tim, as ever. Chhers chaps! 👏❤️👍 PS any chance of a Wasp in the future? Would love to see that with the fx/seq extras featured here. 😉
Stunning choice, well done CA! I want this :) Quick questions: what happens if you use the sequencer in Poly mode? Does it apply offsets to all voices equally? How would the step counter operate?
Why do i have no interest in VSTs? They sound great but i stare at a flat screen and brain ia instantly in analytic mode not creative mode. Jealous of those that can create with anything. Cherry aufio sounds ao good and my mind says why do we use hardware at all but my heart says different.
Go to 8:34 in the following video to hear Ricky play the "Kitten" live. The Kitten was the cheaper version of the Cat. th-cam.com/video/yOUhTFuVaWI/w-d-xo.html
Behringer's "The Cat" is $150 more than this plugin, which comes as part of a free bundle with Nektar midi controllers, and the sound still used to great effect by some artists ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Breaking news! IOS is a proprietary cock blocking softwARE platform with a dying customer base, ESPECIALLY musicians who realized fast enough to ditch them.
This is BRILLIANT! ...amazing demo, wonderful creative musical ideas showcasing an amazing sonic marvel... "BRAVO"!!!
I love how your music speaks to my soul! Can't get enough of your tunes! 🎵💕

Awesome work Cherry Audio. You make brilliant musical softsynths every time. Super clear presentation as always from Tim too. 👍
Me before watching: Haha Tim you wont get me hooked this time. Me after watching: 😍🥰On point presentation as always Tim. Thank you.
Wonderful as always Tim, thank you for inspiring us with quality succinct explanations and importantly how they can work to our creative advantage
Great review! I'm thrilled to pick up another quality instrument from Cherry Audio. We appreciate you guys.
Hah, another synth my Dad was part of. After he left Arp, he went to Octave Plateau and worked on the Cat and it's smaller version, the Kitten.
Wonderful synth; great job, Cherry Audio. Excellent demo, Tim!
That's a very straightforward and usable synth that looks really simple yet fun with lots of room for exploration. Great work CA!
Nice one Tim fab video as always :)
For some people (coughs), I see this becoming a premier live performance instrument. Love the layout the effects are quite amazing.
Finally the Cat vst synth. Thanks 👍
You guys never disappoint!!!
Hello Tim, thanks for the demo. how many % processor does it take?

Major beasts take major time and effort (like GX-80!) but more are on the way. Stay tuned!
Are you asking them to recreate the 2500? They've already done that.
sounds so good and feels like an ARP in a way
Brilliant sounding synth. I am having great fun with it. Great job! 🎵

Following on from your superb Dreamsynth can we please have your Dreamdrums! 😎
the best synth soft 2023 ...and the best price ...they are masters of creativity
Looking for an RMI Keyboard computer VST. One of the "left behind" synths.
Good stuff, I bought mine already.

Very cool video and synth!
Thanks, nice review. Looks like a great little synth, simple to use with it's own character. Looking forward to a demo test run.
Sounds great!
Got it with Retropolis just in case, very nice
Reminds me of the MG-1 style of a synth a bit tbh
Way deeper than MG-1, with the polyphony, effects, oscillator sync, etc.
Stunning choice, well done CA! I want this :) Quick questions: what happens if you use the sequencer in Poly mode? Does it apply offsets to all voices equally? How would the step counter operate?
Great video again but i does not bring me any new sounding feeling than the amzing Polymoog and other synths i own from cherry Audio
Nice video, it would be nice to see a comparison between this and vs Behringer vs real thing
Looks interesting 🤔

I preferred Tim as an impartial reviewer ......
There’s a reason why this synth didn’t survive it sounds like a vintage Soviet Moog clone. Behringer already has the Cat.

ANOTHER ANALOG SYNTH YAY ...
I wish Cherry Audio’s synthesizers can make it to iOS, since there is so many musicians who use mainly iOS devices. This synthesizer is pretty sweet!
So many? Press X for doubt, that any serious musician uses iOS for their job.
Breaking news! IOS is a proprietary cock blocking softwARE platform with a dying customer base, ESPECIALLY musicians who realized fast enough to ditch them.
2:04 cant be good for the cpu LMAOO
Good stuff if you don't want any emotion whatsoever
sounds nothing like my CAT.. very flat and unexciting.. basically a polysynth unrelated to the cat
