Steppin' Out : Joe Jackson what a classic song by one of the most criminally underated singer/songwriters ever!! The multy key pressing was very common back in the days on organs. You could do this on most rhythm machines. Just depended on how many fingers you were able to manage to get over 2 or more buttons. Not always gave something usefull, but actually quite cool. This is such a nice plugin since it done "right" with circuit emulation instead of just samples. Really great run through. At last I can get my favourite drum machine. Was hoping Behringer would produce a hardware version. But cherry have probably destroyed their sales. Just to add that a number of artists used that same rumba rhythm as on the Blondie song. Gary Numan (definitely on Remind Me To Smile from Telekon), and more than once, I think. Roxy Music - which you then featured! The original lineup Ultravox! (with the exclamation mark, before Midge Ure joined) might have as well. Wow wow. These are the best genres in the world, before Y2k, RnB and 90's house techno and amen breaks took over, imo. But this, this era and iconicness is is the best (one of the best). Would love for Adele to do this type of music, I like this more than rock and country or even RnB. This, this is just iconic, these rhythm genres, these tempos, the drum tracks.
Demo does seem fun so far. Maybe I’m missing something, but I wish Cherry would include init patches in their software. Once you start making changes there doesn’t seem to be a way to get back to the default, freshly installed “factory” settings (unless you remember to create your own init preset).
For some reason, I knew there would have to be some Blondie in there. As soon as I saw the claves, I was thinking The Tide Is High, but this was clearly way too fast for that. That intro is unmistakably Heart of Glass.
Synth Stacks include all instruments up to and including the time of release (Synth Stack 4, Nov 2023). This may be added to a future Synth Stack but is not part of Synth Stack 4
Just had an iconic question about setting the tempo on this iconic software drum machine. Is there a way to set the tempo via digital readout on this iconic machine or are we stuck with that big analog "Tempo" button only? For example, the tempo for that iconic fourth song, written by that super iconic recording artist, should be @ an iconic 95bpm. How can you be sure you're set at that iconic 95bpm for that super, super iconic song? Thanks!
The Host Sync switch locks to the same tempo as your DAW. Otherwise (Host Sync off), dial it in on the Tempo knob or double-click it to enter the precise BPM
Great video as usual, after the funny hoax teaser! The Plug-in is magnificent! The stand alone mode is a must, as always! Go Cherry Audio!!! Greetings from Madrid City Spain!
They say first programmeable cpu drummachine on their site from 1978 , i think they forgot the italian EKOComputerhythm from 1972 , even the sounds of the cr seem to be inspired by this one
Hope I'm understanding your question correctly... any sound/mixer/effects edits "stick" as you change patterns with the front panel factory and user beats, but there isn't a way to globally edit or lock sounds when you change presets using the main preset browser (purple strip at the top).
@@CherryAudiovst Great, i bought it yesterday - but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to actually record any audio (or midi) out of the plugins interface, it is driving me insane, how do i acually press start on a beat and just get that from the plugin in the DAW to the tracks???? im ready to give up - i dont want to use any digital or physical routing, there must be a way to output it cleanly in the DAW surely?

Wonderful walkthrough! My biggest question though: What electric guitar sound is used in your slight variation of "Stepping Out"?
Thanks 🙏 The guitar is a stock sound from my beaten up old Motif kbd.
Great video as usual, after the funny hoax teaser! The Plug-in is magnificent! The stand alone mode is a must, as always! Go Cherry Audio!!! Greetings from Madrid City Spain!
Do you know what drum machine was used in “I’m Your Boogie Man”?
They say first programmeable cpu drummachine on their site from 1978 , i think they forgot the italian EKOComputerhythm
from 1972 , even the sounds of the cr seem to be inspired by this one
I want something that sounds like actual drums and can play in odd time signatures. So far I have yet to find it
Great video. Can all the sounds changed to a single instrument? Like all snares, All tom Toms etc Regards.
Hope I'm understanding your question correctly... any sound/mixer/effects edits "stick" as you change patterns with the front panel factory and user beats, but there isn't a way to globally edit or lock sounds when you change presets using the main preset browser (purple strip at the top).
Sold!
Can you use/program individual notes in midi or does it just give you different patterns within the plugin interface?
You can create and save your own custom patterns
@@CherryAudiovst Great, i bought it yesterday - but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to actually record any audio (or midi) out of the plugins interface, it is driving me insane, how do i acually press start on a beat and just get that from the plugin in the DAW to the tracks???? im ready to give up - i dont want to use any digital or physical routing, there must be a way to output it cleanly in the DAW surely?
@@DanielS10291 that's a function of which DAW you are using, but you may find some help in the online user guide: docs.cherryaudio.com/cherry-audio/instruments/cr-78/getting-started . See the specific sections on "Using CR-78 Multi-Out Version" and "Using CR-78 as a DAW MIDI Sound Module." If you need more assistance, feel free to drop our Support team a line, and let them know which DAW you're using
Not sure how to create a song from my user presets. Any advice most welcome. :)
This is begging me to automate the hell out of it.
