He's also a churchgoing Catholic nowadays. Despite singing some rather silly anti-Christian lyrics which I'm sure he finds impossible to take seriously. "I keep the Bible in a pool of blood..."
I don’t why but I love Tom’s interaction with the interview in the beginning lol “You’ve been working with Rick Rubin recently what’s that like?” “No” “No you weren’t” “Yeah” “So what’s that like?” *Tom laughing*

Between 1991 and 2002 especially. From a longhaired skinny guy to a Bald Tattoed fat fuck. Still like him tho. But Hetfield also really changed in the same timeframe. Lion in 1993. Daddy shorthaired with glasses in 2002. Shit happens
@@paulpv7 But James is something of a chameleon. changing his hair and beard changes him a lot. in the year 2004 (early) he had long hair and his goat. It looked exactly the same as in 1999.
I’ll always love Slayer but they looked so much cooler back then with the leather jackets. I love Jeff but I always hated when they started wearing jerseys and shorts in the late 90s
I was 10 in '87. That year a kid (a friend of mines older brother) several grades above me saw me listening to Beastie Boys and AC/DC cassettes.... he said "here, listen to some real music" and gave me a dubbed tape. It had Metallicas Kill em All on one side and Master of Puppets on the other. That same year I watched Headbangers Ball for the first time and saw Over Kills Hello From the Gutter video.... those 2 things shaped the music I listen to til this day.
@Morgoth Bauglir - 'Pleasure to Kill' definitely rivals 'Hell Awaits' or 'RIB.' 'Terrible Certainty' might be as good as 'South of Heaven. And 'Coma of Souls' (IMO) probably beats out 'Seasons.' So it's hard to choose. :-)
Yep. Never understood why he changed to a pick and stopped giving a shit. His bass playing made the band sound so much better when he cared about playing the songs correctly.
Tore Høy Lmao no, metal is not a freakshow. Its not even about being ugly or not, its about how much of a try hard King is with his fake tough guy image with the cheesy wal mart shades and the tribal tats but most of all how much of a douche he is now. Hes full of himself.
Kinda sucks Kerry King nowadays has this silly ego where he makes an angry face in almost every photo shoot he's done. Not to mentioned constant rambling on other artists. He seemed to show off his true self back in Slayer's heyday.
Death released Scream Bloody Gore after Slayer released Reign in Blood. And if you want go that route of who was most extreme, then Possessed certainly were more extreme than Death and Slayer. At the end of the day Slayer were the fastest and most agressive Thrash/Metal band of the 80's. Possessed, Kreator, Death, Exodus, Sepultura and Dark Angel were also extreme, but in different ways.
Tom is just so cool ask the time. I remember that he came out briefly on the After Dark video by Type O Negative where they asked him if he knew where Kenny Hickey was. He was just smiling and said he didn't know.

One and only time I saw Slayer was in 1985. I'd never seen or heard anything like it - from Tom first appearing on stage with his wild headbanging and THAT sound of Raining Blood... A memory worth keeping!
When Kerry had hair and eyes
And no neckbeard. I wonder what the Kerry back then would think if he saw a picture of what he has become today.
Roberto Ricci
LMMFAO! He's turned into such an ego-maniac!
And a neck don’t forget the neck
Dead skin mask is most easiest Slayer so you can play on guitar 123123 try it you'll learn in the matter of seconds
Billy Shity its pretty slow for a slayer song so its automatically pretty easy too
Tom was always a hippie playing metal......what a legend!

Gigerian i think he's able to put on a bit of a facade when he's playing, he knows deep down what he believes in.
Metal people in general tend to be a pretty jolly bunch.
Ishbu101 you have to be a total fucking idiot to think thrash or any metal bands are aggressive as people.
@@Grimeyhoob I dunno. You seem pretty aggressive. I think you're proving the opposite.
For somebody who never knew that Metal existed, he picked up the general gist of it pretty well.
It made him better because he can make his style from scratch, I love fight till death
Kerry King looks so much better with long hair...
Yep
+Matheus Navarro I know, he just looks like a douchey skinhead biker you might see hanging out by the local bar now.

Kerry king looks like Billy Bob Thornton in Blood in blood out, lol
HAHAHA Funny and True. Billy Bob King...OR is it Kerry Bob Thorton?
So interesting clip! Tom was sooo sweet and Kerry looked friendly. Who would believe they are Slayer.
Tom looks like James Franco when he's smiling. Very Cute
Dont you mean James Franco looks like Tom
wow, look how normal Kerry is, this is before he turned into a mass of tattoos!
he was just a kid here
The Night Before the Interview featuring: James Franco as Tom Araya, Seth Rogen as Kerry King. Coming soon

I really love Sodom, but Slayer is very iconic.
tom played with his fingers back then!?
Yep. Never understood why he changed to a pick and stopped giving a shit. His bass playing made the band sound so much better when he cared about playing the songs correctly.
As he got older, he had more difficulty with playing the fast riffs with finger-picking.
"'cause fuck. We are slayer."
morbidangel47 still does play them good tho, the pick (other than being easier to play with) also gives a better bass sound
