All these Rules and Electronic's calling strikes are taking the"Soul" out of the game. "BB" use to stand for "Baseball" now "BB" stands for "Ball Business" I'm so glad I grew up in the 60' and 70's when it was a "Game". I got see Mickey Mantle take batting practice. I was 12 years in 1961 watching Mantle and Maris chase Babe Ruth. Got to see Sandy Koufax pitch 2 times and was able to go down to the third base side one time and watch Koufax warmup - See his Fast Ball up close and his Curve that broke like 20 inches at 45 degree angle - You had to see them in person. The greatest game He ever pitched was a 3 hit shutout. Why - 7th game of the World Series - 2 days rest after after pitching a 5 hit shutout - And because of finger problem he did not have his Great Curve Ball. So after the First inning He was just throwing His Fastball ........ So 2 days rest , No Curveball and 7th game World Series He pitched a 3 hit Shutout striking out 10. I watched that 7th Game on TV with my Dad. 2 Complete Game Shutouts in 4 days.
Major League Baseball (MLB) is not using the Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) system in the regular season in 2025. However, MLB is testing the ABS system in spring training in 2025, with the possibility of using it in the regular season in 2026.
I'm confused. The video says "two rule changes"....and I'm sorry if I missed something, but this video doesn't say anything about a single rule change, let alone 2.
Using a computer to call Balls and Strikes doesn't change the rules of the game... Balls are still Balls and Strikes are still Strike.
And then you talk about the pitch clock, but don't actually mention the rule change.... only that they are going to continue using the pitch clock.
If I pay for tickets, drive to the ball park, pay for parking, find my seat, purchase a hot dog and a beer and some peanuts... *I don't want the game to be over sooner!*
Yeah, Something, Huh?
They lost baseball when 3 things happened.....1. Lowered the Mound.....2...Juiced the ball......3. Changed how the call strike zone.....it's not baseball anymore.....DFIP
Oh , and I don't need to come and watch this -------- You are losing a paying fan ......... The pitch clock and throwing over to hold a runner only 2 times. So now a player is thinking more about the rules than playing the game - how sad.
Love the pitch clock. All you have to do is watch an old game without it to see how much time was wasted with pitchers taking FOREVER to throw, and batters constantly stepping out of the box. I am NOT in favor of a computer calling balls and strikes.
