"Understanding True Sidereal Astrology" with Julie Cuccia Watts, Patrick Fogarty, and Robin Freeman

- Join me in this informative discussion to gain clarity on how the zodiacal constellations, planets, and house placements shape who we are.
True Sidereal Astrology is based around the movement of the constellations and how long it takes the Sun to pass through each of these astrological constellations. There is the addition of a "13th sign" known as "Ophiuchus" (Serpent Bearer).
Western (Tropical) Astrology is based around the fixed seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter) and the sun and earth's rotation through the equinoxes and solstices. This gives us the 12 astrological signs representing each of the four seasons.
We will discuss these two systems and how they work differently from each other.
This is not to say that one astrology system is better than the other, but to shed light on how these two systems can work for your own personal insight.

Oh gosh - when Robin towards the end said she felt like she was outgrowing her tropical chart- this is exactly how I think of it! I also had my client said to me after I did tropical and then True sidereal readings for her - that she felt her tropical chart was working great up to certain point and the older she gets the true sidereal seems to take more of importance! I find that fascinating. I can actually say this about my own experience too. And as much as I’m still not jellying with my true sidereal Cancer AC hahaha 😂 I can see it being sth that I’m growing into rather than Leo energy of my tropical AC. I feel my tropical chart gets an expiry date hahaha and what follows is the celestial one.

There is also Daniel Demario with the Shamanic astrology. He always taught his students to look up to the sky but he also uses western because it is easy to pinpoint cycles and measure stuff. So both systems get utilized.

Hi dear! I'm totally new to this and I have NEVER heard of "true" (as opposed to not true?) sidereal in the astrology community! Only hearing this now within the tarot community… And I wonder why? To me sidereal is sidereal, but why true? I'm studying Chinese astrology now, and WOW it is so cool! I personally don't believe that you can ever "outgrow" your chart. The more I learn, the more I realize how complex it all can become, especially when you get into the medical stuff, which really ties into everything else and is not separate from it. My teachers also teach that it isn't possible to outgrow your chart, and if people think that, they are perhaps not seeing many sides of themselves. I can see that being true for sure. Our egos think they know everything LOL
Hey Maha! Long time. True sidereal just uses different sizes of constellations. The sizes as they are in actual sky. Plus it adds Ophiuchus because this constellation is on the ecliptic. So the planets and luminaries actually pass through it. When I say „outgrow” I mean that I feel I’m developing more of the true sidereal side to myself the older I get. Whereas before I felt much more steeped in the tropical side- all fire and air :) There are many crossovers between the systems of course. I still love tropical but totally fascinated by True sidereal. It started really bugging me that I can not see my chart reflected in the sky, when I look up. I think tropical as a measuring system works great- I still use my tropical cycles but I want the star connected astrology as a part of my evolution. Astrology’s meaning is to follow the stars and tropical is way off the real Sky right now. I know it is a seasonal system and as I said I still love it but I want to learn more about the stars ⭐️

It's been quite eye opening to explore the True Sidereal system.
It's a matter of how I can introduce the different sign placements (western + true sidereal) when it comes to doing tarot readings.
@@mysticrosetarot888 I understand! For me, I've decided to keep it simple ... Western is 'below' (like, from earth toward the stars) while True Sidereal is 'above' (like, from the stars to the earth). But that's just me. Thank you again for this really beautiful conversation; loved it! Blessings!

Haven't been watching any videos on tarot tube in a superlong time, but I just saw this and it sounds interesting so I will watch it especially because it's yours :-) my medical astrology teacher teaches us that the Indian astrology is called Jyotish, but mistakingly referred to as "sidereal" by Westerners (this is one of my two teachers, Judith Hill, a beautiful astrologer and renowned medical astrologer). Jyotish means "the science of the stars", I love that! Glad to see you are still passionate about learning astrology - Hope you are well XOXO

The True Sidereal Astrology, I started to explore late summer of last year. Extremely fascinating to see how the signs and planets shift based on those constellation placements.
I'm enjoying this exploration as I'm incorporating True Sidereal into my tarot readings.
Yes, the "Jyotish" meaning holds truth, just as "sidereal" meaning referencing the constellations.
Judith Hill, I do know of her medical astrology books. This is another topic I have wanted to explore. But for now I need to limit myself with the amount of knowledge I'm receiving at the moment. I need time to experience and process this journey.

@@mysticrosetarot888 thank you for your response darling! So what is the difference between sidereal and "true" sidereal? I know that sidereal astrology deals with the fixed stars. Yes I do understand the need to limit ourselves that is what I also had to do to really gain confidence in medical astrology. This is why I have disappeared LOL I just didn't have time to make any videos and give my attention to that while seriously studying and finishing my book.

So what I'm wondering is what is the difference between sidereal, and "true" sidereal? In the astrology community, I have only heard of sidereal and only here on Tarot tube, I keep hearing about this "true sidereal" - I guess I have to look more into it. As far as I know, there is only tropical and sidereal, and Chinese astrology (which I'm studying Chinese astrology by the way, and it is SUPER cool and such a unique way of looking at a person in a very visual way. I know now that I am not only a Dragon but I am a double Dragon!
