I've never seen Rico make the stank face & Crystal's mouth drop open. SRV gotcha 😉 great reaction! I'm so glad you are watching all kinds of genres. I love to see your journey. ❤🎵✌
Stevie still kills it, 30 years after being called to heaven. He is like another Texas Legend, Buddy Holly. I wish Stevie would have covered Holly’s Not Fade Away.
Too many greats but SRV Is definitely one of them. Prince showed Rolling Stone magazine that he should have been in that bogus top 100 on the night of the RR Hall of fame in 2004😆 will you guys react to Prince “while my guitar gently weeps” the 2021 director’s version please 😀
"Stevie was endless, open channel that music just poured out of." "He made people who'd never touched a guitar in their life want to pick one up and start playing, and he made those of us who'd played live with him onstage before want to quit."...............Eric Clapton.
SRV 🎸 THE GOAT 🐐 It difficult for me to pick my number one but there's no doubt in my mind, it's Stevie Ray. He was not of this world. What you saw is God given talent & thousands of hours of practice. SRV could not read music. He played by ear. On August 27, 1990 Stevie played at a festival. He wanted to get back to the hotel but his helicopter wasn't there. There were seats available on another & he took it. Shortly after midnight, the helicopter crashed in Wisconsin. I cried when I found out. The greatest Blues guitarist of my generation died at age 35. In my head, I picture him playing in heaven with all the other greats. We lost him too soon but we were all blessed by his talent. RIP SRV🙏🏻
I grew up in the town over from alpine Valley where his helicopter crashed... I could see the top of the ski hill from my front yard and when I came on the news we ran outside and looked and you could see the fire... I was 6 at the time and still remember it
Even worse. The helicopter that stevie took was eric clapton's chopper. If stevie had just done the drive on the bus and let clapton take the chopper we would have lost clapton and still had stevie
The GOAT for sure. Alpine Valley Wisconsin took a six stringer from us but he will never be forgotten. I'm teaching my 6 year old son about SRV and I bought a Fender American Professional Strat in 2018 for him to have one day. He may never play it but he will know why he owns it and hopefully appreciate it and the music that it's heritage made for him to enjoy...
Never seen these two smile this much during a reaction it's precious. I was in Marine Corpse boot camp when SRV died and in remembrance our drill instructors gave us the day off and they spent the whole day in their DI hut (small enclosed structure in the corner of our barracks) blasting SRV with the door open. That is the power of Stevie.
i was underway in the Navy, and an officer from Texas informed us. The several officers and about a dozen or so enlisted gathered on the mess deck and hel a vigil of sorts. The only two people whose death made me shed a tear beyond family were Stevie and Bum Phillips. When Earl goes it will be a third.
Loved this album when it was released. Then I saw him live and knew he was one of the greatest guitarists of all time! R.I.P. Stevie thanks for the memories.
Most people, even the best guitar players today, consider SRV the GOAT. He didn't play the guitar, he was the guitar, the music just flowed through him. He never played any of his songs the same way twice. If you notice his face, you will see that he plays with his eyes closed for almost the whole set. He couldn't read music, so he played by feel and memory. He used 13 gauge strings which are very thick and very hard to bend. He kept his number 2 guitar on stage when he performed because he would often break even them. You need to watch Jimi Hendrix play VOODOO Child and then watch SRV play it, will blow you away. Love your reactions. Keep them coming. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and wish you and yours a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
This concert has got to be the greatest display of jawdroppin guitar virtuosity ever recorded. Stevie was always amazing live. But i think the gods smiled down on him that night
SRV is the GOAT fr. I was lucky enough to meet him and hang out with him a couple of times when he was playing a small bar in my town before he got really big. You faces was priceless when he started playing behind his back. His brother was a big inspiration to him. I think this was one of his greatest performances. Merry Christmas and much love guys!
According to Texas Flood, a new book on SRV by coauthors Alan Paul and Andy Aledort, the sound of Stevie Ray doing his best Albert impression also caught Eric Clapton off guard.“I was driving, and ‘Let’s Dance’ came on the radio,” Slowhand is quoted as saying in Chapter 13. “I stopped my car and said, ‘I have to know who this guitar player is today. Not tomorrow, but today.’ This has only happened to me three or four times ever, and probably not for anyone in between Duane Allman and Stevie.” Eric Clapton
Stevie Ray Vaughan is legend, the greatest solo artist and guitar player I have ever beard..a terrific band..rhythem and melody is great..along with all the cords and number 12 strings Stevie to play with..a pain of strings only Stevie knows how to deal with and play the music and .Ke the guitar sing along with him..a terrific artist in all he does..fans all over the world ...greatest musician around..phenomenal
SRV was one of the greatest guitarists of all time!! Watch him do "Look At Little Sister" where a string breaks in the middle of the song, and he switches guitars without missing a beat...amazing!!🎶🎸🎶🎸 RIP Stevie Ray🎶🎸
The reaction to the guitar going behind the back is always the best... heh... SRV was just a gift to us... thankful for all the brilliant music he left us with to enjoy...
I was so stoked to see younger folks digging on SRV. His death was such a tragic loss to the music world. His style and abilities surpassed everyone around him. Keep listening, there is so much great music out there from every genre.
SRV has never worn a “stank face” in his life. He wears the I AM STEVIE RAY VAUGHN face because he knows nobody can touch him. Jimi had the same face. It’s a unique and special club. R.I.P. to two of the most influential guitar players ever. 🙏🙏
This reaction was the best I've seen you two do.yall's reaction was priceless.the best Birthday gift an old man could ask for. Thanks Rico and Crystal.
No one better!!! I still listen to him often, never get tired of him!!! And I'm a 74 yr. Old grandma! Of course he was popular when I was young! We had the Best music!!! RIP Stevie! Gone but not forgotten!!
Man, I freekin LOVE it when I see young people see and hear Stevie Ray for the first time. Invariably, they crack a big ol' smile of appreciation and admiration, and it doesn't really matter what musical background they come from. I have actually watched several videos today of young people watching this exact video and commenting on it, and it's hilarious that they have all commented on Stevie Ray's "Stink-face" while he's playing. That cracks me up. Girlfriend is just sitting there with a big ol' toothy grin on her face, and she doesn't know what to say....that's priceless.
Anytime I see someone reacting to SRV for the first time, I have to point out how great Double Trouble is on bass and drums. That walking bassline is awesome. Another great reaction.
Awesome that you guys are exposing yourselves to a wide variety of music, love to see it! I was blessed to get to see SRV in concert and it was incredible! Merry Christmas to you.
I’ve watched a thousand reactions to this performance and it’s always interesting to watch the look flash on the viewers face at some point while Stevie is playing behind his back and they realize just what “special” truly is, and that they themselves are actually only ordinary human beings.
Many, including myself, consider him the best guitarist ever. So sad that he was lost at such a early age. I don't remember which video but there's one where he actually plays with his teeth.
I remember my first time seeing this. My jaw dropped too. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face for a week. Such joy, such bittersweet joy. RIP SRV...we who love you, love you forever... Thank you for all the love you passed our way. 😇💔☮️
Stevie Ray Vaughn was amazing. He was a wizard with the guitar. In my opinion, he is one of the only guitarists who could cover Jimi Hendrix and do him justice. For a cover of Jimi, check out "Voodoo Child." For one of my favorite originals, check out "Cold Shot."
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN gave the fans what they came for,the whole genius of a electric guitar player and solo singer on stage..great entertainment and every performance is phenomenal..Stevie left us too soon on that helicopter crash on a snow cliff that night he left Aloine Valley back to Cbicago..RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan
I knew this song would get you guys to smile in disbelief!! Glad to see the younger generation appreciate great talent! Ive watched the video many times so I knew what he was going to do with his guitar behind the back and I couldnt wait until you 2 seen that part and the look on your faces was priceless lol! Classic Rock is a great Genre of music and my fav.
Excellent reaction! I am just now rediscovering SRV...seeing your jaws drop literally brought tears to my eyes. Gives me hope that the younger generation keeps Stevie alive!
Damn, it’s so amazing for me (im 45 yrs old), to see young ppl get into all this stuff....I discovered SRV as a 21 yr old guitar player in 1997,,and , it’s just one of those things that discourages and inspires u at the same time--but if ur not a guitar player, ur just in awe of the magic of it all......the behind the back thing is......the dude was just a genius,,and he had a really strong left arm, hand and wrist to be able to hold the guitar high up enuf (with one arm) so it wouldn’t be interfered with by touching his body/back...it’s just raw power, really .....man, and he was a super genuine down to earth guy, he helped so many ppl get sober after he got sober in 1986, from famous friends of his, to normal citizens at the AA meetings he used to attend regularly in texas, he was a saint, so when Stevie makes the pretty girls smile (like crystal there, and all the young ppl), it just makes my heart happy, becuz w/ the short time we had srv on this planet, he spread so much joy, and eased so much pain, it’s just, it’s his legacy to be the ZUES of the guitar gods, and spread even more joy for generation, after generation, after generation to come...love and light to u guys, great fuckn’ reaction , and god bless...
SRV was hands down one of the best blues guitarists, died in 1993 (I think) in a helicopter accident. What is most amazing about him is that he never learned to read or write music, all his playing was on emotion and "feel". Should check out more of his work...Mary had a little lamb, Pride and Joy is very good as well. Glad you discovered him.
August 27, 1990 is when he died. Just visited Alpine Valley days ago. Frozen in, but I'll be back in season to walk the hill that helicopter hit and Stevie died on. I hurts 31 years on.
@@xenoscoot Thanks for the correction, I met his brother Jimmie after a blues show he did in my home town, super nice guy. His bandmate told me that up to that point ( 5 or so years ago) that Jimmie has never played Tick Tock (song they did together) since his brother's death. Both are tremendously talented, Stevie died was too soon. To this day he is still one of, if not my favorite blues artist.
@@Jarhd-sl7kf he's my favorite followed by his brother, Jimmie. I don't blame Jimmie for not doing Tick Tock or anything else that is too painful. He has been honest about trying to pretend to move on for a few years then just letting folks know he ain't over/has closure about Stevie dying and never will. I am 46. Losing my baby sister to cancer, soon. I definitely empathize and sympathize with Jimmie and any choices he makes regarding his brother and his brother's legacy. It effing sucks all the way around.
Saw him live in '85 in Chicago and it was stunning, I think you guys get it, but he was a multi-generational talent that we haven't seen since. Now with so much downloadable "music" it is hard to appreciate how incredible this is. SRV always loved the founders of the blues and had the surviving blues artists of the time on stage with him. This song was written in 1958, and he wanted to bring it forward. He was a talent that has no parallel now. How many people people without a Broadway level production command a stage.
You have met the man! He was as kind, gentle and humble as he was talented. Check out “Texas Flood “ live from Austin 1989, for some speed, and “Tin Pan Alley” with Stevie Ray and Johnny Copeland for some more deep Blues and a better look at Stevie’s vocals. You’ve only just begun, baby!!!!
It seems that he is a portal to another dimension. He gets in that zone and just channels all that jazz from the other world straight to his fingers and into the guitar...
We use to skip school for a couple of days and drive 100's of miles around Texas to see him play on a Thurs, Friday or Sat...back then, the drinking age was 18/19, so it was easier to sneak/bribe your way into a club to hear him play. Seeing him live, much like Pink Floyd, just brings about a different connection, and his sweet music touches your soul a little deeper and a lot different than hearing him play on the radio. There is lots of discussions about who is greater, but those are silly wastes of thought, for there is none better than SRV, and conceding there are some who are as great isn't changing that position, nor is it by acknowledging some connect better to one guitarist over another...both are opinions in judgment, not quantifying greatness. There isn't a bad SRV song, even Mary had a little lamb is done in a way that is pleasing to hear his version. Many are going to suggest this or that song of his to do, and probably all great suggestions...but know the song 'Lenny' is the one he wrote for his wife and the name of his guitar, an obvious connection no other song will have to SRV. Great reactions done by both of you. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
He is the best his guitars became extension of his own arm .. became a part of him to play with so much passion with that level of power that yet be so finesse and smooth.. 1982 cassette Texas Flood then my whole World .. Don't forget about his voice... adjust his mindset and his battling demons and overcame.. then his music changed even for the better.. his words & music will & have changed people's lives as they are hurting and suffering .. the passion didn't stop at & with his playing he was much much more. The sky is still crying for his passing.
People new to SRV think at first. Yeah that guy can play, then he starts singing and you’re just floored. Then he just keeps jamming harder and better. Her jaw drop at the behind the back move and your appreciation made me smile. Great react.
I was privileged to see SRV in Austin & Corpus Christi, Texas in the ‘80s. A mutual friend once told me that, “ the boy was none too bright, but he was a musical prodigy.” SRV was the GOAT. RIP Stevie Ray. 💔
10:00 The looks on your faces are priceless! I was presented with the opportunity to see him play live the night he died! I had and still have an aversion to large crowds and just couldn't get past that fear. I always thought that there would be a future time in a smaller venue...... R.I.P. Stevie Ray! You were a Blessing to us!
It makes me cry to see you younger people appreciate my generation. I love you man. I was born 1959 and have a 36 yr old son. For the longest time your generation thought us pre-baby boomers were a joke. Now we finally come together. It's a beautiful thing and a great hope for future guitar players in your generation and generations to come after you. ❤️
This reaction is priceless... I love Stevie Ray Vaughan, he was a pure talent one of a kind! My notifications are so all over the place and delayed, so glad I looked on your channel for reactions I've missed... Another great one Recklezz
I've seen other reactions to live performances and they are like "why isn't the crowd into it?" BC they are absolutely transfixed!! SRV is not entirely from the earthly plane. I'm half pleadian and he blows me away! Been playing guitar for 43+ years And despite my genetic advantage I can't come close to the way he channels via the creator to his heart and soul expressed through his fingers to the pickups, amp and back to the creator that gifted him. This is extremely rare. Many musicians drop off into the "Zone" but never this DEEP!! At least in my experiences. Whoa!!!🎸🎶✌️💜
Listen and see video Look Little Sister, smoothest guitar change ever in my opinion. Also love Pride and Joy. RIP SRV, too many died in airplane or helicopter crashes.
I saw him at The Crystal Ballroom in 1983. He was ridiculous. He played behind his head, behind his back. He breaks guitar strings and switches guitars and doesn't miss a beat. Watch Look At Little Sister live in Austin, Tx and you will see the smoothest guitar switch ever
Merry Christmas !!! Life without you by SRV is another one those videos also . But really any live video of SRV is amazing , just to see the emotional music pour of his soul is amazing .
SRV started playing at 8 or 9.By 12,he joined his first band,& said he KNEW music would take him somewhere! At 14,he HELPED a band of college age guys cut their first record! The band's bassist said that day, everyone in the studio had seen the real deal(Genius) for the first time! Stevie was a humble Christian man who conquered his demons before he died in a helicopter crash in 1990 at the age of 35.One of my heroes! Please, you will LOVE "Life without you" Capitol Teatre,1985.Amazing performance!
S.R.V. = G.O.A.T. blues man. I saw him play live twice in my younger days, it was two shows of freakin' legendary blues soul guitar greatness - and the tickets only cost me $13.50 each time - !!!!!!
You should check out Stevie Ray Vaughan 's live cover of "Voodoo Child" (originally by Jimi Hendrix) and Stevie Ray Vaughan & Jeff Healey - "Look At Little Sister" live. And if you REALLY want your minds blown, Jeff Healey - "See The Light" live.
Their faces when he flipped the guitar behind his back hahaha. I grew up on SRV, being a Texan it's a part of music you must listen to. I knew it was coming and knew their reaction.
Glad to see young people like you appreciate this type of music and with that said I've watched a dozen reactions to this video and everyone has that same look of amazement on their face when he whips the guitar around his back and doesn't miss a beat
It is hard to pause SRV. HE IS THE GOAT! Welcome to the world of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, enjoy the ride! Your reverence to Stevie from the get go has earned my sub. Next to do would be Voo Doo Child. Live from one night in Texas. Always do Stevie LIVE!
Eyes closed & away Stevie goes!! Love anything live of Double Trouble & the day Stevie was taken from them was a very sad day indeed 😕 Channelling such amazing music..with a perfect voice to match...you guys have to go down the rabbit hole!!! "Life without you" is another side to his amazing talent...more vocals... Little Stevie got ya both lolol ❣🙏
Ok ok u got me already. The expressions on ur faces were priceless. When Ste ie flipped his guitar I thought I was gonna die at the look u then made. I loved it & i also subscribed because of it! Thanks it was soooooo much fun. Enjoy Mr. Stevie Ray u will never be disappointed. 🤣
Literally jaw dropping. Thanks. Watching Stevie play was like watching people practicing that Drunken Fighter technique. It always felt like he was on the verge of maybe losing control without ever actually losing it. And somehow, the resulting 'wander' ends up sounding fantastically better than something seemingly more 'organized.' Oh, and for how does he do it? It's the exact same hand motions, just behind his hips instead of in front of them. The weird part is getting the guitar at the right angle. Merry Christmas.
SRV was such a great blues man they made a bronze statue of him the Auditorium Shores Park in Austin, Tx. It's awesome. Glad to see y'all reacting to him.
This Man is arguably The GOAT of The Guitar!!! But sadly this is another example of The Day The Music Died!!!! I heard he played the heaviest guage Strings, watch his Hands, you can see the power of his hands and Fingers!!!! AMAZING!!!! I Have a New 11 month Grandson, He makes my Heart have that good hurt, but SRV death still makes my Heart have that Bad Hurt!!! Rest In Peace My Brother!!! I hope and pray that my words find you and yours blessed and doing well!!! Belated Merry Christmas!!!!
There are legendary guitar players, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, B.B. King, and, then there's SRV. He elevated guitar playing to an entirely new level. A level no one else has ever been able to reach.
Loved it, loved it, loved it. Your reactions were priceless, just brilliant. SRV was the GOAT, and I am so glad you guys discovered him. BTW, another awesome SRV song is when he covers Voodoo Chile by Jimi Hendrix. There are a few versions, and in the Nashville performance he plays behind his back again, but the best to my mind is the time he was wearing a black jacket. He performs on a stage where you can see a few bushes in the background. Just an awesome performance. And then there are the other great songs mentioned in the other comments. Keep on enjoying. 🙂
I'm glad to see young people enjoying the late great SRV. What a sad day when I found out he passed away. I was at work and heard it on the radio, it just crushed my soul.
I've never seen Rico make the stank face & Crystal's mouth drop open. SRV gotcha 😉 great reaction! I'm so glad you are watching all kinds of genres. I love to see your journey. ❤🎵✌

YES YES YES! Totally agree!! Really love “Pride and Joy” as well.
Seeing the smile on both your faces while you were listening and watching was priceless. There is Stevie then everyone else. RIP SRV!
SRV was incredible. One of the best Blues tones ever and he made the guitar sing when he played.
When u listen to stevie u can't help but smile . Such a beautiful player
We may never experience a human soul as lit as his was that night.
🎸💯 Those Texas blues y'all‼🔥🤯
SRV called his guitar "The One"! 🐐
RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan. ❤🕊🙏
(I wish we could've SEEN the video!)
I got to see SRV back in the 80s in Austin Texas. Dude was so badass 🤘 RIP SRV 🤘
You both said you'd never seen anything like this, and you never will again. One of a kind!
People new to SRV think at first. Yeah that guy can play, then he starts singing and you’re just floored. Then he just keeps jamming harder and better.
Her jaw drop at the behind the back move and your appreciation made me smile. Great react.
Playing heavy steel gauge strings making the bending so much more impressive. His love for Jimi and his showmanship is a testament of how good he was.
You just witnessed the greatest human being (sadly now an angel playing in the clouds) to EVER play the guitar. SRV, RIP, the magic man.....
Stevie was one of the best. Love watching your genuine, from the heart reactions to the music I listened to in my youth. Rock on.🤘 Peace ✌
Love it when young folks hear Stevie and his greatness for the first time.. never ever will be another, he was the greatest of all time.
I was privileged to see SRV in Austin & Corpus Christi, Texas in the ‘80s. A mutual friend once told me that, “ the boy was none too bright, but he was a musical prodigy.” SRV was the GOAT. RIP Stevie Ray. 💔
Stevie is self taught. When you learn that way there are no boundaries. No one saying that's impossible. He is a Texas treasure we lost way too soon.
10:00
The looks on your faces are priceless!
It's the same look that all you reactioners get when Stevie starts playing behind his back, It's priceless. RIP SRV!
If there's ever some one who deserves it behind their name, Stevie surely does. Stevie the Great.
Grew up in the 80"s. Lucky to have seen Stevie live 4 times
Listen and see video Look Little Sister, smoothest guitar change ever in my opinion. Also love Pride and Joy. RIP SRV, too many died in airplane or helicopter crashes.
When Stevie played guitar behind his back, practice makes perfect!!
The guitarists'guitarist... plain and simple.🙏💜✌️🎶🎸
Y’all should react to more of him. He is a phenomenal talent on guitar. Easily one of the very greatest to ever pick up the instrument.
Merry Christmas !!! Life without you by SRV is another one those videos also . But really any live video of SRV is amazing , just to see the emotional music pour of his soul is amazing .
My favorite!! Life Without You at Capitol Theater! Amazing Performance! Be on the lookout for their reaction of it.
Seen him in concert 3 times he was amazing to listen to and watch he played and his changeups while playing where his own.
S.R.V. = G.O.A.T.
Jeff Healy was incredible!
❤️ I never get tired of listening SRV, have been loving him for about 25 years now, it never gets old, timeless music!
Merry Christmas! Love SRV! Definitely one of my favorite musicians of all time.
The hands down GOAT OF GOATS! Double Trouble is the best rhythm section out there!
SRV was a pure channel. The player, the instrument and the voice were all one and three at the same time.
Eyes closed & away Stevie goes!! Love anything live of Double Trouble & the day Stevie was taken from them was a very sad day indeed 😕
Channelling such amazing music..with a perfect voice to match...you guys have to go down the rabbit hole!!!
And somehow, the resulting 'wander' ends up sounding fantastically better than something seemingly more 'organized.'
Oh, and for how does he do it? It's the exact same hand motions, just behind his hips instead of in front of them. The weird part is getting the guitar at the right angle.
Merry Christmas.
Boy I ain’t even lying when you said he make you want a guitar, I felt that. I swear on my life Stevie ray made me buy my strat 💯
Voodoo Chile at el.mocambo was legendary as well.. good call!
The only other person to play like this was Jimi Hendrix now he could play like Stevie. I don't know which is better. They are both fire.
Joe Bonamossa is amazing too
SRV was batter no doubt to me. An honourble mention and one of the Greatest Jimmy Page, The second greatest to me
Stevie is mesmerizing to watch...so much personality in his iconic style. Never be another...RIP ❤️
I'm glad to see young people enjoying the late great SRV. What a sad day when I found out he passed away. I was at work and heard it on the radio, it just crushed my soul.
