Great work buddy, that's very innovative. I was wondering if you find that decreasing the scale of these clips and zooming in hurts the quality of the image at all?
Hey Ryan, a humble request. I've tried to do this a couple of times now and it all falls apart at the keyframes. Have you made a video on them? It's not clear how to edit keyframes and I've followed the procedure for being able to see them but they still do not show. Or I just can't see them. Anyway the result is that I must delete all and go back to the beginning to try again to make it work and for the video to flow in the right direction. I'm a complete novice though and ain't very technically inclined but I've heard you say a couple of times in your clips that you're interested in suggestions. Anyway I'll try this sa couple more times. It likely won't work but at least I'm learning. So again cheers for trying to make this complicated task seem so simple. Much appreciated as normally I wouldn't even begin to attempt something like this.
Hey Harald, this is probably the most advanced thing you can do in fcpx and yeah its not easy to get right ha. The choice of shots has a big part to play to and it will take me a couple of tries to get it right so keep trying. As for the transform keyframes, you need to press the keyframe button right at the start and then it will track everything you do with it and when you click show video animation they will be there. Hope that helps!
you have made getting to know final cut pro so much easier then the many other vids I've seen! Ive already learned many cool effects that have stepped up my editing game. thanks keep posting!!!
been incorporating a lot of new effects I'm learning from your videos into the current project I'm working on and I really feel like its taking everything to the next level. I was about to switch over to premiere but you've taught me that i still have so much more to learn with fcpx. I hope you know how helpful your videos are! I'm hella grateful. thank you !!
I love final cut. It just sucks that everyone looks down on it and even jobs always ask for premiere experience... this just proves that it can do so much more thanks for the awesome video!!
My goodness, those are by far the most interesting and best explained FCPX tutorials I have ever seen!!! I just came across your channel, it's a shame I didn't find out about you earlier! Kudos from Germany - New subsriber!
I used to use FCP to edit my videos but have been using Adobe for a while now. Really good tutorial I'm sure it's going to help a lot of people with making their own films!
Chris Garbo thanks man! I wish I used some 4K shots to really show how powerful this technique is. That last clips is actually a compressed clip from a old edit
I am a color pro, and grading is the usual weak point. You need to test, experiment, trial, do several different jobs on different pciture profile and lumetri. Suggest to watch and study and read tips by Neumann films ( but they use Red...however, some principles are very general) and Yuri Palma ( he describes several tips in his reply and he has just only a GH4)
I love this effect. You made it look way easier than when I tried it myself. I didn't have clouds in my shots so I used a gradient generator to blend them together. Thanks for the tips!
Man you just kept me from merging to adobe premiere, I was trying for so long to figure out how to make more complex transitions. this is awesome thanks!! :D
love your short tutorials but as a beginner i get lost because you don't explain things thorough enough so i can't really understand what or why you're doing your workflow. But i've bookmarked your channel and at some point i'll be proficient enough to understand what you're doing. Subscribed.
really cool effect, is a far amount of work but such a short clip but its all about those little touches. Im really into FCPX and started some tutorials myself, love using this program. More than i love Photoshop. Thanks for sharing. Andy
Wow literally had no idea you could do all of that! I've only just begun editing. Subbed and looking forward to watching the rest of your videos! Thanks
Quick question, you use clouds as a transition of these shots, but what instead could you use if you want to do this effect with shots inside or something? I mean, where clouds couldn't be?
Not sure if this is true, but by scaling down inside the compound clip and scaling back up later on, aren't you losing resolution? Or does FCPX automatically scale up from the original footage? The footage in the beginning did look soft and scaled up to me.
How do you get the smooth easing in / out position animation between each of the video clips. When I do it, its much more jerky in terms of animation. your video is much smoother
I love this video! But, although I hate to admit, I'm new to FCP and i can't figure out how to get these key frames down. I've been googling how to do it like this for 3 days now and there isn't a video I've found on how to. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Ryan which version of FCP x are you using it looks different to mine or have you just changed the default look of it id like be able to change out the look of mine and so it makes it easier following with your tutorial! ps these videos are seriously good man thank you so much for providing such a polished product!
Hey thanks for the help! I was curious how you made the the third clip. I was trying to copy it, but the way I tried didn't work. How did you make it rotate like that?
You are smashing these tutorials man, you are so informative!
Lucas Romeo thanks man, glad your getting some knowledge from them!
RyanNangle No problem buddy, keep it up; your account is going to grow insanely quick!
Great work buddy, that's very innovative. I was wondering if you find that decreasing the scale of these clips and zooming in hurts the quality of the image at all?
not if they are in 4k
Damn just randomly scrolled down to the comments and its Danielle effing schiffer!!!
instablaster.
BRO, YOU ARE THE FINAL CUT PRO GOD
Amazing! I'm working my way through all your videos and must say you're really gifted at explaining as well
Thank you!

I was about to switch to premiere pro until I found your videos! You inspire and show that fcpx has still so much to offer. Thanks man!
Ando Kiidron thanks man 🙏
Good job, indeed. Maybe you can explain also some innovations brought by Brandon Li and Yuri Palma
i agree with this so much
🙌 thanks guys :)
Ando Kiidron totally agrees
I used to do this in flash back in the day. This was great to see fcpx being used for animation.
That intro was crazy!
wow. every time I watch one of your videos, im always learning something new. great job.
This is great man, super clever. I now expect to see this exact transition done by every tutorial channel.

Grace Marie that's awesome! Thank you 🙌
It's a crime for you to not have more subs. Keep it up man, the quality of your videos are top notch.
I love final cut. It just sucks that everyone looks down on it and even jobs always ask for premiere experience... this just proves that it can do so much more thanks for the awesome video!!
Daaaammmnn!! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND EXCITING!!! You seriously put the "PRO" in Final Cut Pro.
I need to invest in Final Cut. lol!
Whew! I've got so much still to learn. Really cool Ryan. Thanks.
Dude! That colour match is something I was totally unaware of, thanks
My goodness, those are by far the most interesting and best explained FCPX tutorials I have ever seen!!! I just came across your channel, it's a shame I didn't find out about you earlier!
Kudos from Germany - New subsriber!
Very interesting workflow, I never would have thought you could do this in Final Cut!
This is why I love this channel
I used to use FCP to edit my videos but have been using Adobe for a while now. Really good tutorial I'm sure it's going to help a lot of people with making their own films!
THAT'S AN ART!!!
I am SO pumped to try this out. Thank you!!
You are osome man, btw I guess I am among the few who are using Premiere Pro and still watching ur tutorials
This is probably the best transition tutorial Ive seen overall. Subbed instantly dude it honestly looks better than what the guys use in Adobe!
Chris Garbo thanks man! I wish I used some 4K shots to really show how powerful this technique is. That last clips is actually a compressed clip from a old edit
also what did you use to download a cinematic bar plug in to your generators file (8:04)
What a creativity!
Woah I had no idea about that match color feature. That's sweet!
HAHAH me neither!! I went crazy when I saw it
Glad I found your channel! Amazing! Great job!
Man, you are the boss!!! amazing video and perfect explanation. Thanks so much for sharing.

Going to give this a try in my next edit, looks insane!

I love this effect. You made it look way easier than when I tried it myself. I didn't have clouds in my shots so I used a gradient generator to blend them together. Thanks for the tips!
This looks absolutely amazing!
Best fcp channel. You are my University!
Ryan you are amazing!! You made my day!
Tks sir!!
This was a very interesting way to do transitions and I actually expected something different to get this effect! Nice job.
I'm barely getting into video editing, but this was well broken down and well constructed. Thanks man!
Wow, I feel like a complete nub now. This seems so high level to me and it was presented well, thanks.

Thank you so much bro. So helpful, subbed. Looking forward to learning more.
Yes Ryan 🤌🏻 great vid thanks mate 🙌🏻
love your short tutorials but as a beginner i get lost because you don't explain things thorough enough so i can't really understand what or why you're doing your workflow. But i've bookmarked your channel and at some point i'll be proficient enough to understand what you're doing. Subscribed.
Such a great tutorial. You showed like 10 extra techniques!
really cool effect, is a far amount of work but such a short clip but its all about those little touches. Im really into FCPX and started some tutorials myself, love using this program. More than i love Photoshop. Thanks for sharing. Andy

I was searching for this kind of video for so long

Very helpful! Keep up the good work!
wow you really deserve more subscribers, your content is amazing
Anthony Moody thanks man :)
another beauty....
this is absolutely awesome bro!!!!!
LEGEND. Thats all
how do you do the same effect but instead of a pan, using a zoom effect that travels into the center of the frame revealing a new shot?
I hope you can do a tutorial on how to capture cinematic transitional shots with your gears.
Not sure if this is true, but by scaling down inside the compound clip and scaling back up later on, aren't you losing resolution? Or does FCPX automatically scale up from the original footage? The footage in the beginning did look soft and scaled up to me.
Thanks for the knowledge bro!
ur my new hero i love u man
Is therer anyway to do this in after effects or premier pro!? amazing tutorial !!
Neither could i ! searched for hours :(
it would be great..i'm interested in too
Actually the procedure is the same. Mask and keyframing are the same
Same question here :)
Check my account for a tutorial in After Effects!
How do you get the smooth easing in / out position animation between each of the video clips. When I do it, its much more jerky in terms of animation. your video is much smoother
This is amazing man! Thank you so much for this tutorial!
good stuff doggie! killing it for being the new kid on the block!!!
this is insane
Damn that was a damn good tutorial! And it was short. Definitely subscribed!!
I love this video! But, although I hate to admit, I'm new to FCP and i can't figure out how to get these key frames down. I've been googling how to do it like this for 3 days now and there isn't a video I've found on how to. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Awesome! the tutorials are great I have been watching and learning a ton of great info so thanks for sharing your knowledge
Hi I'm pretty sure I'll never use that effect but that was really cool to watch, so thank you for that :)
Ryan which version of FCP x are you using it looks different to mine or have you just changed the default look of it id like be able to change out the look of mine and so it makes it easier following with your tutorial! ps these videos are seriously good man thank you so much for providing such a polished product!

Your vids are amazing man thank you!
Hey thanks for the help! I was curious how you made the the third clip. I was trying to copy it, but the way I tried didn't work. How did you make it rotate like that?
Woah! Clearly I need to watch more of your videos! Great stuff thank you - Tim. Subbed !
Hey ryan, can you please make scribble effect tutorial for FCPX please? :) Thanks!
From 6:52 to 6:56 how did you get from that zoom in version to the zoomed out version? Also when you scale up don’t you loose quality?
Titan Karate film in the highest possible resolution for maximum quality. For me 2.4k on the GoPro gives me the flexibility
This is genuinely awesome! I had no idea you could do this! Thank you for the great tutorial =D
Brother awesome tutorials but one question what was the reason of making it a compound clip the first time and then separating them ?
That was awesome!
YOU. ARE. AMAZING. YOU. ARE. EVEN. MORE. AMAZING. FOR. SHARING. YOUR. KNOWLEDGE!!!!! UGHHH! THANK YOU!!! :)
Katrin Su thank you 😄
Love it! I look forward to all of your tutorials👏🏽
