Did a full engine rebuild after 220 hours. Don't really think it needed it, but it was winter so why not. Top end after 150 hours is pretty much right. Oil 15-20 hours. Adjust the valves when they start making noise. In my experience the valves are still in spec after +50 hours :)
yeah, i have a drz400sm. fantastic bike with enough power, plus long service intervals, valve adjustment every 27 000 km (ktm exc 450 every 30 hour) and oil changes every 5 000km. Fun and easy to ride, easy to wheelie, both power wheelie and clutch up wheelie :) they have about 40 hp (crank hp) and does 0-100 kmh in about 5-6 seconds completely stock. I strongly recommend the drz400!

I have read about a guy on a forum (thumpertalk) how has a drz with over 100 000km with the original piston! But I have talked to a suzuki mechanic about piston change. He recommended changing the piston at about 50-70 000 km. Most of the time people have to change piston/cylinder on these bikes it is because lack of regular maintenance, so as long as you to the services you should be able to go for at least 60k km, or more, on a piston :)

Yeah haha mine is at 22k km, and the valves have never been adjusted, still in spec! Awesome bike that is super reliable
