They would be on the top now again. There are so many young people who love to listen them and never even see them live. Me neither. What a band. What a legend.
Yup... it always warms my heart to see younger generations getting into the classics! It reminds me of when I was a teen in the 90s (around the time I got into Type O, actually) and first discovering Pink Floyd and The Doors for myself.
The Green Man was one of a Kind booming bass voice wonderful writing skills and bass skills to match Rip Peter Steele when you left everyone died on the inside but we still love you to death
Джош - какой харизматичный, талантливый и явно недооцененный клавишник! Великолепно исполнил свою роль на треке Are you afraid/gravity очень атмосферно звучит...
Holy shit - I clicked on this vid thinking to myself "Damn, I really wish I could've seen these guys live.. Them and Pink Floyd".... Then the riff hit and I exclaim "YES!" hahah. What a joyous surprise! TYPE O FOREVER!
I was in the last year last year of high school and just a couple of months away from graduation when Peter Steele died. I read online while at school about his death. As soon as I got home I put on my Bloody Kisses cd, listened to it and cried. I love Type O Negative so much.
Umm... this is the most amazing live performance I've ever seen. I think Peter Steele is the utlimate babe, and I'm desperately in love with him, and its easy to get caught up in that, but Type O Negative is fucking amazing.
I remember Bloody Kisses coming out like it was yesterday, my friends and I would always be playing that banger, every other skater in highschool thought we were weird. I absolutely love how much emotion the entire band is putting into this show, I would say to the audience at this show "consider yourself blessed, this is "one" of those shows you'll never forget." I prefer bands that actually sound even better than their studio albums, my God that intro to Black No 1 is intense, goosebumps every time I hear "I think she willlllllllll" Thank you for preserving this masterpiece of a show and setlist...I don't think the drab four knew how many lives they touched with their mind blowing synergy of sound.
I agree, very well said. I was 17 at this show and will never forget it. I still cry and get goosebumps watching this. Pete was so incredibly talented, and his voice was on another level as well.
Peter Steele is not only an amazing singer but bassist as well. Great timing, sense of melody and unique sound in both departments. Peter has influenced many musicians in both facets of music yet nobody sounds quite like him.
I'd do anything to see them live.. I didn't know about them until recently but their music has touched me. You can see their influence on modern bands, for example The 69 Eyes, among other goth-rock bands. What a legend. RIP Peter
Opens with one of the best pre gig opening riffs ever written....so you thought you’d like to go to the show.bom bom da bomp, to feel the warm thrill of confusion, that space cadet glow..way to go guys.
It so much sucks that he's gone too soon.. Like a lot of other musicians we know. it really hurts the music world. Dying sucks! it just does.. who can explain it? I just hope it all makes sense in the end, when we all get there.. until then.. they did a great performance here! thank you Peter!!!
For me as well...Same exact thing happened. I was watching something on TV. Then, I decided to check out a song or two from a very Dear Friend that left us a well. Then this popped up after. Jason Trioxin was who I was checking out. Peter and Jason knew each other well.
I was fortunate enough to see them live at Center Stage Atlanta Georgia on their last tour. It's a small, closed venue. Sounded sooo good! TON are like no other and I partied my ass off! Great group of people, everyone there. One of the best concerts I ever saw.
Yeah Sal left Type O after the Bloody Kisses album. He started his own band, A Pale Horse Named Death. Kenny Hickey, the guitarist also has his band SilverTomb and Seventh Void. Johnny drums for Danzig and Kenny’s bands. Josh is an EMT
TON is on the list of great bands that I never got to see live. R.I.P. Peter Steele. The more I dig into their catalog, the more I love them. October Rust is a masterpiece, but I have found that every album is great and really shows you where Peter was at the time in his life. These days all I am binging on is TON, Linda Ronstadt & Beth Hart. Huge collection of music I have and I can't get enough of those 3 right now.
I saw them twice on this tour. I love this band more now at 47yrs old, then I did in 93 as a 17yr old when I first heard them. The 90s and early 00s was such an amazing time to be alive. And life is great now. 🤘🖤💚🖤💚🤘
I'll never forget the first time I saw type o in Tampa Florida at the Masquerade and then I was fortunate enough to see them again in Allentown Pennsylvania at Crocodile Rock right before Peter passed away. It was hard to actually watch him need his own sheet music on a stand on stage just so he could read his own lyrics for his songs to perform them for the crowd. It was tough to see.
Pete stated he was so nervous playing sober that he was afraid he'd forget the songs because he has extreme stage fright. I don't know how that could have been 'tough to see' as it should have been great for anyone who valued him to see him embracing sobriety.
@@samimissy8190 By the time of his death, Pete's health had succumbed terribly. He needed oxygen from tanks backstage for breathing. Too many drugs and alcohol caught up with his frenzied lifestyle. What was even sadder to me was his demise from the weight lifting fitness giant he once was. He needed every crutch he could get his hands on. Had he not passed, it's doubtful how much longer he could have performed. And certainly no where the brilliance we all want to remember.
That version of In Praise of Bacchus... brilliant. Don't believe they ever made it to NZ shores, and saddened I'll never get to see them, but these help. Edit: Not a bad song on here. Also... Pete likes vitamins!!! :)
Dear Peter, Josh, Johnny & Kenny. Thank you. Sincerely, everyone who's been blessed to hear your music. And cheers to you, @CHIPnBASS for making their live excellence accessible
I was lucky to see them twice - once when they were just getting started and again on one of their last tours. I'll always treasure these experiences. Still listening to Type O Negative...fan forever.
And this is why Pete was a awesome bass player/ front man...dude held it down....this dude "Was" the lost boy..he ask for the interview and embraced the change...that we all want... at some point in our lives.....candles burning.... mind you....its like Clancy Brown..(Mr. CRAB)..I love Highlander...I mean come on.. who didnt think about Highlander while listening to Type O? or in my case lol cheers...
Getting closer to 30 years since, "In Praise of Baccus" and "Wolf Moon," were released.
Holy shit - I clicked on this vid thinking to myself "Damn, I really wish I could've seen these guys live.. Them and Pink Floyd".... Then the riff hit and I exclaim "YES!" hahah. What a joyous surprise! TYPE O FOREVER!
I’ve seen both in concert. 😁
Bout 5 minutes before the end of the show, grabs his balls to sing the note higher 😅😂😂🤣🤣🤣 That shits so funny, lol!
This version of Too Late: Frozen is phenomenal. Riding the Steele train hard lately - wish I would have seen these live :) killer stuff
Riding the D Train to Brighton Beach
his bass dynamics are insane
The one time I saw Type O was around this time, when they were touring “World Coming Down.”
11 years, still drab. Sleep well Pete
I saw Type O Negative at Ozzfest with Pantera. What a hell of a show. Hell of a band. 🤘
it was the best.
Miss you Pete!
this band was incredible - forever in my heart.
It's funny, I'm trying to tidy my room but for some reason I'm too captivated by this. I'm spending more time watching then tidying. Ha, ha!
Great words, thank you.
I agree, very well said. I was 17 at this show and will never forget it. I still cry and get goosebumps watching this. Pete was so incredibly talented, and his voice was on another level as well.
@@heidi82 I know right? So many octaves. And I loved to hear him talk as well. He was so talented, and good looking.
I listened to typo for years before I ever seen what Peter Steele looked like, and when I did he looked exactly how I imagined 🤣 he is a true legend 🤟
Wow. They were amazing live at this era.
There’s no band quite like Type O.
RIP Peter
Yes! Definitely an influence on The 69 Eyes, and HIM as well.
I don’t like any of them, TON is it’s own category, 10 hours a day of TON for 30 years for me
I miss Peter Steele. Imagine the INCREDIBLE album Type O could've come out with resulting from this Shutdown!
I slept on listening to this band for decades... By far one of my favorites now. RIP green man
Rest In peace Peter you had a brilliant band and they will ALWAYS be a brilliant band R.I.P
born in 98, must watch this at least once a week. I am so sooo sad Peter isn’t here anymore type o negative is my favourite band 💚
THE ICONIC G.O.A.T.S.! TYPE O’ NEGATIVE! 4-EVER! FIRE! BOOM!
This show is so good. They were on top of it big time!
My college times favourite band. Still like being 47 now. Rest in peace Pete
47 in a few months. Remember hearing them when we were teens?
Обожаю эту группу,не описать словами какие я эмоции испытываю слушая их музыку..
Согласен!!!
Чувак ажно басуху купил
солидарна
Opens with one of the best pre gig opening riffs ever written....so you thought you’d like to go to the show.bom bom da bomp, to feel the warm thrill of confusion, that space cadet glow..way to go guys.
It so much sucks that he's gone too soon.. Like a lot of other musicians we know. it really hurts the music world. Dying sucks! it just does.. who can explain it? I just hope it all makes sense in the end, when we all get there.. until then.. they did a great performance here! thank you Peter!!!
His death, just like Lane Staley, brings attention to the problem of addiction. Substance abuse causes so many unneeded deaths.
First time seeing this, just appeared in my feed as if by magic. Great stuff.
I’m always so focused on Pete but Johnny is truly gorgeous. Heck, they all are!❤️🔥
If you are referring to the drummer in this video, that is Johnny Kelly, he replaced Sally.
Thanks for the correction guys!💚🖤
Outstanding❤❤❤
TON is on the list of great bands that I never got to see live. R.I.P. Peter Steele.
The more I dig into their catalog, the more I love them. October Rust is a masterpiece, but I have found that every album is great and really shows you where Peter was at the time in his life. These days all I am binging on is TON, Linda Ronstadt & Beth Hart. Huge collection of music I have and I can't get enough of those 3 right now.
That's a pretty esoteric rainbow of current listening favorites, hahaha
This has a fantastic version of Gravity.
I saw them twice on this tour. I love this band more now at 47yrs old, then I did in 93 as a 17yr old when I first heard them. The 90s and early 00s was such an amazing time to be alive. And life is great now. 🤘🖤💚🖤💚🤘
Seen them at least twice , probably 3 or 4 as openers, so long ago and drunk I used to have Kenny's autograph. Wish I kept it. Same age as you too
Yes! Gen X! I saw them in Dallas with Ozzfest
23:40 I love the way Peter faintly sings "burn"
it sends shivers through me😍😍
I got a day ticket for Bizarre that year just to see them! Glad i did!!!
Thx!
Kenny's playing is so strong!
I was able to see them on October 30, 1996 in Raleigh N.C in a little bar that held less than 500 people and man was that a show!!!
In The flesh-pink Floyd 0:00
I was lucky to see them twice - once when they were just getting started and again on one of their last tours. I'll always treasure these experiences. Still listening to Type O Negative...fan forever.
Rest easy Peter, you're a damn legend Green Man.
That breakdown and chorous at the back end of Too Late Too Frozen...🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of the greatest live bands ever !!! I saw them 4 times in 4 different countries !!!!!
Type O is the best band I have ever seen.😮 and I saw them once. And I will never forget.
Pink Floyd - In The Flesh at the beggining 0:16
And this is why Pete was a awesome bass player/ front man...dude held it down....this dude "Was" the lost boy..he ask for the interview and embraced the change...that we all want... at some point in our lives.....candles burning.... mind you....its like Clancy Brown..(Mr. CRAB)..I love Highlander...I mean come on.. who didnt think about Highlander while listening to Type O? or in my case lol cheers...
It Was my favorite bad. And this concert is as good as the Cd I bougth at the time. Such wonderful singer we lost ""RIP"" thankyou
I could see this show the day before in Dresden. Incredible memories come back. Miss you Pete, RIP!
Getting closer to 30 years since, "In Praise of Baccus" and "Wolf Moon," were released. And they still hit me just as hard now as they did back then. 2 of the best songs I have ever witnessed played live. So grateful for the times I got to see this band.
"Dirai Di, Sincto Sin, Dominai, Requiem
She said burn
We'll burn together
(Burning together)"
I miss this so much!!!!
Peter tu e i Type 0 Negative mi mancate un casino.
Sono semplicemente unici
People born.. People die.. Music lives forever.
