    Step by step the best description online. Inspirational. Your tips have cleaned up my loops. Staring the rotation when on the wave
    in onshore conditions has improved my forwards success rate . Thank you . Keep up the great work.

    Finally, someone who can relate to new loopers! Many windsurfing coaches seem to have forgotten their journey into looping and have lost the capacity to explain it to a person who doesn't have loop experience. I am just (re)learning how to jump but this video gives me hope. Sensational work, many thanks Kyriakos Giakoumaros :)

      Thank you! I always try to make things clear and keep in mind how it feels for the people just learning the moves in question!
      I hope this helps and if there is anything you need help with dont hesitate to mention it. If I can I will make a video on that too... always looking for suggestions!
      Thanks again! Good luck and have fun :)

    Really great tips! I'm hoping to do my first loop this year. One question - if I'm following my hand to the back of the boom with my head then it means I can't see the wave/chop coming in front of me which might make timing difficult - or are you suggesting doing this after take-off?

    • @kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind
      @kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! :D
      Yes basically you come off the wave and send the board downwind (like i mentioned in the video to make it less scary u can start sending it downwind before you are completely off the wave) and after this you should focus on the sail, following your hand to the back of the boom.
      Good luck and have fun! And remember... NEVER LET GO OF THE BOOM! :D

    Really, a super video. What kind of board do you need to practice such a thing? Freeride, Freemove, Freestyle, Freestyle-Wave or can I do that with my Xantos 295?;-)
    Maybe it will help, I weigh 85 kilograms und I would like to practice this on the lake. Maybe you have any advice. Regards Matthias

      Hey Matthias! I am glad you liked it...
      In reality you can try a forward with any board but of course there are easier boards to do it with and harder boards.
      I would suggest the shorter board you can use and of course something maneuverable and light will make it much easier! Usually freestylewave, freestyle and wave boards fall under those specifications. If you are trying on flat then something with a good pop will also make things easier (like freestyle or freewave).
      Your weight doesnt matter as long as you are comfortable on your equipment. Also, if you are trying it on a lake with flat water you will likely need more power, more speed and a little more 'aggression' in you moves!
      Hope this helps out!
      Good luck and have fun! :D

    amazing video!
    What would you say is a minimum prerequisites to start trying the front loop? Simple jump and landing for sure (any minimum height or duration?), any other technique I should feel comfortable with before front-looping? like heli tack or duck gybe?
    Also what would you say is a minimum wind speed (and sail size) for practice? I will be swimming on a lake, so not sure if I have any chance to jump high enough in the first place.

      @kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! You can frontloop or speedloop so hight isnt really a problem. Basically if you can get your board and fin out of the water you can attempt it.
      I would say you should be able to use small gear (small board especially) and be comfortable with your sailing techniques. Then once you can pop or jump the board and keep it flat during the airtime, you are good to go.
      The frontloop is not a hard move technically but it is a scary one. So its more a matter of pushing yourself mentally rather than technically.
      And of course my most important tip is never let go of the boom!!! No matter what! Only time it ever hurt for me was when I let go! :D

    Είδα όλα τα βίντεο σου και πρόσεξα πως έχεις ένα βίντεο για το πως να ξεκινάμε από την παραλία μήπως θα μπορούσες να κάνεις και ένα βίντεο για το πως να ανεβαίνουμε στην σανίδα όταν πέσουμε και δεν πατάμε; Παρεπιπτόντως τέλεια δουλειά συνέχισε έτσι😃

      Εαν εννοεις water start υπαρχει και αυτο το βιντεο.
      Ξεκιναει ομως με τεχνικες στην παραλια και στα ρηχα. Εαν προχωρησεις παρακατω στο βιντεο δειχνει και το κανονικο water start.

    You may also think the frootloop as downwind 360. The head is never below your feet
