- Enjoy an astonishing street tire motorcycle drag racing performance by Turbo Suzuki HAYABUSAS and Kawasaki ZX-12rs as they hit top speed on England’s legendary Santa Pod Drag Strip at the FIA FIM European Drag Racing Finals. This motorbike drag racing class known as Super Street Bike, similar to Pro Street Motorcycle in the U.S., breaks right through the 200 mph mark on a good pass without the use of a wheelie bar or slick, simply a radial Street tire, usually a Shinko. We talk about why the ZX12 is more popular than the ZX-14r in Europe. Enjoy this entire opening round of qualifying as we see which fearless drag bike racer will strike first in these windy conditions. All I want for Christmas is a Pro Fuel Harley and spares. So yes, I would ride these. I have been partial to Kawi's for metric bikes. Having said that I currently ride a KTM when not on my Harley. Be safe.

From what I've heard, the ZX14 is more difficult to tune than the Hayabusa, and less durable when a lot of power is added. I don't know enough about the ZX-12R to comment about durability, but at the time it was designed, it ran higher power in the top end of revs compared to the Hayabusa rival at the time with 100cc less.
MY understanding is that gsxr1000's also have the cylinders molded to the upper crankcase. Was also copied by BMW for the 1000rr

the zx14 is not popular brcause were the swing arm bolts up to the frame the factory didnt center the swing arm bolt it is all the way towards the front of the frame leaving no real solid support like if you had a slick and turbo making some real hp ity will break the frame were the swing arm bol;ts up i kno i own one and i asked skip from dme thats the answer he gave me i looked at bike and he was correct in that assumption also kawasaki had a factory recall about that very thibg i know i bought pnme new in 07 and got the notiice to bring bike to dealer fopr inspection

Never saw a real street or a grudge ZX14 break like that not saying its impossible but I would say its a concern for most serious racers the only excuse I've really come across to why they aren't as popular in say pro street or grudge racing is cost they are much more expensive to build and that's all I had to say about that.

I would love to try one, but I am getting a little too old, any way you would have to start with slower bikes and build up to faster bikes like that, but from what I can see it should be too hard they do not even control the clutch just gas and go, do a mild tune that first and build up from there.
