Lego DC Supervillains’ open world was class because of the amount of buildings and interiors you could go into, really made the world more immersive and I hope to see that much more in future games.
I actually fly, jump, and run around for the sake of it. I love playing nightwing or hugo strange in the arkham grounds. Flying in metropolis where they have this rounded steel kind of architecture. I don't know what it's called but it's perfect.
@@DariMan001 it's Lego DC Supervillains. The main selling point was to be a supervillain, so instead of stopping crimes you had crime objectives you could complete in the open world instead.
@@DariMan001 it's lego dc super villians not super heroes. Stopping crimes got replaced with being able to cause them and kill the police which is just as fun.
DC villains makes me feel like a kid playing the old games again. It has that weird immersion that I used to have playing the old ones, and now I'm 20. The architecture in metropolis, the creepy arkham grounds with the mad science lab, collecting gold bricks as characters you like from the comics, great fun. Smallville's music gets annoying though.
The Lego Star Wars 3 hub world is pretty fun, it feels both lived and died in, on account of the constant warfare going on in the hub world. Which is awesome.
I’d give The Incredibles open world an honorable mention. The addition of being able to create Pixar themed buildings and the Crime Waves too! Recently just completed it 100% and had so much fun in the open world! So much to do and so much to see, so whats wrong with taking the ba- Sorry😂 But yeah, The Incredibles is as some would say, Incredible
Tbh i didnt like the open world. It became stale really quickly. After a couple hours all youll have to do is break a couple items to get characters. The crime waves, imo, should've been shorter. They should have added more real missions in the rest of the open world instead of throwing us some stuff to destroy so we can get characters.
Lego DC Supervillains also had the best way to reveal the map in my opinion. It felt very good finding each map terminal and seeing the little icons for quests and gold bricks pop up on the map.
My favorite pack for lego dimensions was definitely The Sonic Pack. Sonic was my childhood favorite and being able to play as sonic in a lego game is both golden and precious cause there are barely any sonic lego sets or lego sonic games.
I honestly think lego batman 2 deserves to be on the list regardless of nostalgia. It's such a great looking comic book Gotham come to life with all the iconic locations we were used to but in an open world. And the fact that it was the first open world lego game, it just makes it even more legendary. Though, I do think the DC supervillains world is better and rightfully placed on the list for its expansion on that style.
I think my main problem with dimensions is how everything is a bit cramped do to some of the scale that some worlds are suppose to have like Middle Earth, Ninjago and the Dc Universe just feel a bit small and those hub worlds don't work as well. However stuff like the the Land of Oz, Scooby Doo and other 80's movies work a lot better due to some of the simplicity of their source material or the choice of a location that works well like Scooby Doo's hub world.
Glad to see that Lego City undercover got a good rating all around! Honestly one of my favorite Lego games ever! Also we need a skyrim like Lego game with actual survival not like Lego world's survival
Not exactly an open world, but I still have a LOT of fondness for Dex’s Diner from the original LEGO Star Wars video game; the music and the aesthetics really made it feel like you were in a diner on Coruscant, plus there was a lot of little things to interact with.
Video Idea: ranking all story modes/campaign based on accuracy (of movie based games) and creativity/enjoyment (original story and level design overall)
Your videos have inspired me to get back into lego games again to finish off some games I missed. So far I finished up city undercover, most of the complete saga, and almost done with Marvel superheroes. Going for all the achievements so I’ve done the complete saga and Marvel before but on the original Xbox and 360. Gonna do marvel superheroes 2 next and I never played that one.
What I like about the Lego Force Awakens game is that Count Dooku is the only character where you have to do a hub world mission to get the chance to unlock him, since Christopher Lee who played him in the prequels passed the same year the movie came out.
My brother and I completed Lego lotr to 100% and we still play just to go around the open world. The hobbit open world is good too but my favorite of the two is lotr because it just feels more complete. I also like how you ranked the 2 together because they have things that are unique and in this context are not complete separate
AWESOME video. You have got me back into these Lego games, Mr and my little brother have got been talking way more and hanging out playing games so thanks for that. and I'm loving playing through em again. Also your thumbnails are brilliant. They look stunning and they aren't clickbaity at all whitch I like. Keep up the awesome content.
I highly recommend reading the books for lotr, if not at least read the hobbit, they have so many amazing characters, locations, and plot point that were unfortunately left out of the movie. The hobbit movies were somewhat of a disgrace and the book is 1000x better
When it comes to my personal favourite openworld lego game, it has to be lego marvel superhero’s, I know that there’s lego city undercover but I played superheroes a lot as a kid, it was so much fun just acting like a normal person, driving cars properly, walking around the city. Just had a blast playing it.
Best- 5: Harry Potter Years 5-7 4: Dimensions 3: City Undercover 2: Lord Of The Rings 1: DC Super Villains Worst- 5: Star Wars 1 4: Indiana Jones 1 3: Ninjago Movie 2: Lego Movie 2 1: Indiana Jones 2
They need to make more Lego games called Lego transformers, Lego fast and furious, Lego 007, Lego the hunger games, Lego the mummy, Lego men in black, Lego Ghostbusters, Lego DC games, Lego pokemon, Lego gi-joe, Lego he man and the masters of the universe, and Lego avengers 2, Lego marvel super heroes 3, and Lego Jurassic world 2, and Lego Indiana Jones 3, and Lego legend of Zelda.
Just wanted to add that Lego Marvel Avengers is a lot better than what we give it credit for, Manhattan looks much improved visually, and aesthetically, it doesn't feel so much as a place as LMS cause no missions take place there but it's still filled with a higher variety of activities! Smoother movement and flying, charge jump, and multiple hub worlds to explore is very much an improvement or Marvel Superheroes. Story does take a hit with the prerecorded voice lines sometimes sounding funky, but I'd say the post game content more than makes up for it. A better variety of side quests, no more babysitting a character across a boring path, and combat feels a lot more punchy and satisfying. Also, exploring Tony's Malibu house is way cool, did not expect that as a hub.
Even though I've never played Lego Batman 3, I would have to agree about the open would hub, I also have to agree with the flying camera mechanic thing.
I think mentioning Dimensions in these rankings is pointless and unfair for the rest of the games. Or at least you should count only 'base' game, without any additional content
@@nolasmor So? Not every game is interesting, that's why you have 5 worst open worlds in this video. Running around arkham as Nightwing or hugo strange and scarecrow was real fun and somehow immersive. Flying in metropolis with the round steel architecture, which I've never heard of but looks perfect.
Lego LOTR is the entire trilogy, sadly, Lego Hobbit is only the first two films. Makes me cry for what could have been. Best way to travel was Gondor to the Shire, travelling through the story was incredible.
