It was a huge preasure to realize the attention to detail and your dedication restoring this Lafayette. Thank you so much to bring this to us. 👍
Thank you very much for your comment! I'm glad you liked my video. )
Looks fantastic, great work 👍
I was expecting a restoration video and what's more.
It's an improvement video with lots of interesting and reachable technical solutions (Simple tools and... work).
This headset is much better and more maintainable than it was originally. Well done !
I'm glad you liked my video! Thanks for your constructive comment. ))
amazing video mate! it was really satisfying through it's entirety, keep up with the great work!
Thanks for watching, I'm very glad you liked it! I'll try to devote more time to filming the video )
Headphones of my childhood!
I'll take note about peroxide and vinegar. I only know how to smear mud. I find everything in the bushes in the swamp, take it apart, go to the river, wash it, and lo and behold, everything is as good as new! I know, I understand ). Glad you liked it at least a little in the end )
Better than original.
This was an awesome restore, best I’ve ever seen. I like that you used leather in certain parts. I don’t know if you know this already but I usually use an electric carving knife to cut foam to shape. You can even shaped ridges into a thick foam, for shaping. buy electric carving knives from flea markets, thrift shops or boot sales no matter how old they are, they’re still perfect for shaping foam.
I’m now going subscribe and binge watch your channel. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the nice comment ). I'm glad you liked the video! I got acquainted with electric thermal knives, a very interesting and necessary thing, I added it to my shopping list.
headphone cushion reupholstery is top tier!!
Thank you! )
2:01 oy i can read that.
Interesting construction technique for the pad, i have seen people usually fare a LOT worse than that.
Great work on these headphones! Cheers!😀👍🛠️🔧
Thank! Glad you liked my video! )
Excellent! Watched the whole thing!
Thank you for watching ) Glad you liked it!
It's headphone name Phoenix. I had it in 80th.
You are right, but not entirely. These are Soviet TDS-1 headphones, I described this in the description of the video. "Phoenix" are TDS-8 headphones. They have the same drivers. But in fact, both one and the other were a copy of the Lafayette F-990.
Great restoration 👍👍
Unbelievable skills!! Congrats
I'm leaning more towards "not bad", but thank you very much for such an assessment ))
That was great! Subbed :)
Thank you! It's good that you liked it )
Yes, you are absolutely right, I indicated in the description of the video that these are TDS-1 headphones. They are a copy of the Lafayette F-990, which are famous all over the world. The plug is called DIN-5, but it is no longer used.
Excelente trabajo!! Que fuertes esos headphones👍👍
Thank! Durable, iron frame, hardened and cannot be bent. But they also weigh 480g respectively.
With such limited tools, not a bad restoration! Curious if the creases on the ear pads adds any discomfort to the ears?
Thank. At the moment I don’t have a workshop and there’s simply no room for a tool park. The pads are very soft, I don't feel any wrinkles. )
Yes that's right. I indicated in the title (TDS-1) the full description of the video about TDS-1. In the middle of the video I restored the logo as TDS-1. But all over the world they are known as the Lafayette F-990, naturally the original original version.
I think sometimes something from a certain period of time in your life can be beautiful. )
Perfecto¡¡¡
This is headhone “Феникс»
This is "TDS-1" I indicated this in the description. "Phoenix" is "TDS-8" another series. But these are all copies of the Lafayette F-990.
Top ! 🤘
You are right, but not entirely. These are Soviet TDS-1 headphones, I described this in the description of the video. "Phoenix" are TDS-8 headphones. They have the same drivers. But in fact, both one and the other were a copy of the Lafayette F-990. )
Have a set of Lafayette's from around 1973, the F-550 coax model. nearly the same design, different driver. All original except I replace the pads with some XL Brainwaves round pads. They sound OK but may update the drivers in the future, should improve the sound and the wieght. They are a heavy set of headphones.
The headphones turned out to be 457 g. 0.5 kilograms on the head is really a lot. I want to replace the drivers with something decent (in my case), the sound will be better, the weight will be less.
*Perfect 😃👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻* 🇧🇷🙋🏻♂️
Thank you for watching. Glad you liked my video! )
Respect! Man !!!
Tu é o CARA
such an amazing video ,kept me etertained the whole time . amazing craftsmanship ,love from india. i wish i could listen to those ,being a musician and a producer, i wish .
I'm glad you liked it. A little about the headphones - they don’t play low frequencies very well, but they play mids and highs very well, cymbals and drums sound incredibly realistic on them. Nothing other than wideband paper drivers will reproduce musical instruments so realistically (we are talking about live instrumental music). If we take into account electronic digital genres of music, they are not very suitable, unfortunately.
After the Third world war we'll need guys like this tô restore the earth
Thanks for watching and comments. I hope I won’t have to restore anything, although some of it is already necessary.
Thank you for watching and commenting! )
Very nice❤❤❤
Nice bro
Thank
Nice seam roller.
This is a roller for rolling sound insulation )
zajebista robota - poszedł sub
Thank! Glad you liked it.
I agree that the image was not particularly high quality. As far as I know, with an iron you need to use glossy (polished) paper rather than regular paper. I wanted to use a standard classic A4. Next time I will use a laser grower.
@@CustomFIX You can use regular A4 paper! th-cam.com/video/02c9bV6Ggvs/w-d-xo.html
The author uses thin, coated, glossy A4 paper. This is not a simple A4 office sheet. It is impossible to transfer from ordinary office paper with an iron.
@@CustomFIX So I was wrong. I thought it was regular office paper. Thank you!
Przepięknie są odrestaurowany te stare zabytkowe słuchawki do dziś są produkowane poprzez amerykańców i japońców Pozdrawiam serdecznie. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching and comments! I didn't know what else they produced, the price tag must be impressive )
Super, klass 👍
Nice work, full of precision and care, but please get rid of this typing sound 🙏
It's good that there is feedback. If this interferes with watching, then in the next video there will be no typing sound. )
As one of my subscribers recently wrote to me - a samurai has no goal, a samurai has a path ))
I completely agree, unfortunately, cleaning drivers with a mini vacuum cleaner is left behind the scenes (
👍👍👍
16:00 yes, and i have one
I'm thinking about buying it or assembling it myself. A very necessary thing.
@@CustomFIX very necessary thing yeah. the most good idea it's to assembly it at home, or if you have enough money, you can buy it.
hardcore.

I know, I know, if I'm not mistaken, they were called "phenix". Thanks for watching and for your comment. )
10:00 Real bdsm headphones.
😁
That's well done, but not a restoration in my opinion.
I agree, modernization could have been added.
To each his own ))
Lviv, not lvov!
Vipraviv druzge )
They cannot be spoiled. In essence, they are similar to construction noise protection headphones )
Happens to everyone
Letters are too fast. I am foreighner, can't get read.
It's a pity, I'll definitely make it longer in the next video.
@@CustomFIX thanx! Your ASMR is greatable) Can't stop watching and listening!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked the video! )
Why did this man stain his headphones, and now he is just washing them? 😮
Before writing comments you need to at least watched the video, you obviously didn't do that ))
@@CustomFIX Have to admit, from the first second, I thought that dirt shouted fake restoration. Needs a bit of provenance and back story to explain where they came from and why they were so oddly dirty. YT is full of fake restorations, which really undermines the genuine ones.
I agree with you. I myself am biased towards fake restorations. All these PlayStation finds in the bushes and reverse filming make you look for a catch. Based on the experience of this video, I will make the beginning of the next video differently. Too many people get lost at the very beginning.
You need to know when to stop! This plug fits these headphones quite well. If only these were real Lafayettes, and not a replica of dubious quality. (indicated in the description). I would buy something more serious.
Better to buy new headphones
I agree, I have a pair of new current headphones. I just like the process itself.
It’s just a hobby, buying new ones defeats the purpose of finding joy in restoring stuff 🙂
