Lots of pro cricketers in the Essex League when I played there in the nineties. Mostly Essex players, probably most well known now would be Nick Knight who played for Brentwood. Our team had Neil Barry of Guyana for two or three seasons followed by Junior Murray of West Indies fame. I played four seasons in Holland in the Hoofdklasse (top league) where every club had an overseas pro. We had Craig “Sid” Cumming of New Zealand and now commentator on NZ tv for three of the four seasons and Shane Thompson. I once calculated I’d played against around eighty first class cricketers. I could bore you for hours here. My best wicket Phil Simmons....
In Ireland I have played against shoaib akhtar, and AB De Villiers when they were both 18 and both got called up to national teams half way through the season

Astley and tyldesley cc in Manchester have had a few. We've had suresh Raina, Bazid Khan, mohammed Hafeez. Played against Wasim Jaffer and Niel Hornbuckle, Liam Hurt, Gareth Cross, Tino Best, Luke Proctor, Karl Brown
Jaffer played at scholes here in Huddersfield league and smashed every record Huddersfield league very strong and had other test players Phil Defreitas and Jason Gallion 2 i can think of but been others and going further back Garfield Sobers played for paddock and there are many county players Lancashire Aaron Lilley plays in it
Huddersfield drakes league has had a fair few quality players in recent years... mitch santner, cam fletcher, tim seifert and joe carter from NZ. Along with wasim jaffer, devon smith, kesrick williams, phil mustard, alex lees, sikander raza to name a few and currently junaid khan, mohammed azharullah, arron lilley, james wharton & will fraine both currently at yorkshire
In the Yorkshire South Premier League, there have been some great overseas pros and pros being fielded, like Aamir Jamal, Harpreet Bhatia Singh (average 95, scoring over 800 runs in 13 innings), Satyajeet Bachhav, Ben Sanderson, Azeem Rafiq, Billy Root, Muhammad Saeed Anwar, Binura Fernando and Stephen Foster
@@Jo5h999 I'm sure he was playing for Cleckheaton, he wasn't performing that great when he played for Collegiate, but they didn't win the league when himself and Billy Root were playing consistently

The very fine bowler S F Barnes played a lot of league cricket during his career, as it was the best way to earn a living back then (counties were stingy employers). I have heard it said that opposing captains used to have the next *four* batmen padded up ready when Barnes was bowling, he took an ungodly amount of wickets and often for single-figure averages.
