'GLAD' Edinburgh Nights BBC2 1990

I was an actor in Jeremy Weller's Fringe First Award-winning play GLAD, at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1990. My name then was David Hodgson. This was my first professional acting job. This incredible play was captured by BBC2's Edinburgh Nights programme, and includes very rare footage of the actors and extracts of performances. Being in GLAD was one of the most profound experiences of my life - I consider it to have been my unofficial training as an actor. All the actors in the play became my friends and we travelled widely in the two years that followed, performing the play together in London (Union Chapel), East Berlin, Dublin, Bonn and Paris. I am not much seen in the footage here apart from brief glimpses in the play extracts.
