Canny to see you back out and about Chris, lovely vid as always and of course family comes first. Always nice to test yourself in trying conditions, nice one mate 😊
Fair play, Chris. You reminded positive throughout your recent troubles and are an inspiration to your followers. Another great vid with quality over quantity.
Fantastic adventure, Chris! Amazing scenery! Those cloud formations were so beautiful as the storm slowly worked it's way toward your location. You do bring some awesome kit. That Nammatj 2 was a perfect fit for this adventure. That little table you brought really caught my eye. Perfect small stable surface for inside the tent. Thanks for taking us along on this adventure. It was a good one.
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Love the chat, the video and the kit chat. Amazing country you have. Looking forward to your next one. Regards from Scotland.

Ace to see you out Chris, lovely camp and a pleasure to watch, as always. Nice that you gave Todd over on Going Solo a mention, the best cooking channel on YT 🤣 ATB
I'm a single dad, totally get the whole no time thing, really looking forward to being able to get out for longer and videos like this really stoke that urge. The last few years have only really had time for night walks but I love being out in slightly sketchy conditions, always seems like more fun (and helps to justify the amount I spend on gear 😅)
Great to see you back out Chris , fantastic video and fantastic choice of gear , The summit skillet is absolutely first class , you will be very impressed 🤙🏕️

We've missed you Chris! Great to see you back out. Love that tent but sadly out of budget. On a personal level it's superb to see you in a better place now than a few years ago. As for work, I think I know what you're referring to as I think you do the same thing as me for a living! (Please see email I sent you a few months back). Keep your chin up with that and stay strong. Hi Chris, I've followed your channel for a very long time. It's good to see you happy again and getting out and about with your lovely kids. Great video and a lovely location. Enjoy the rest of your week. ❤️👍
Great to see you out again Chris and a very enjoyable video too. Love your choice of tent, I bought myself an Abisko lite 2 earlier this year and have had it out a few times. I have to say I'm well pleased with it. I'm a shorty so it's got plenty of room for me, the weight is fairly low and it's handled 48mph measured winds in July with no problems, so much for summer camping 😁 Tunnel tents with a good vestibule really do provide great shelter when needed.
Super video, lovely location and really nice tent. Your first priority is always to your kids and family, same with all of us, and those are the wonderful family memories you are making, life goes by quickly. But yes, when you get a little time to yourself (also very important) make the very most of it. Any money you make from your video you can use for a family meal too!
Thanks for watching mate. I wish TH-cam paid well, unfortunately it doesn't remotely cover the cost of fuel for one leg of the trip - it's literally a few quid unless you're in the 100K sub realms with mega views. I'm in it for the community and a way to store memories for when I'm too fat to reach those summits 🙂
@@MCMOutdoors Well we all appreciate it. You and a few others (Such as Linleys360 and FellmanDave) inspired me to follow in your footsteps and I am in the early "honeymoon period" of wild camping still. Thanks again- the regularity of the videos isn't important, but when you manage to make them they are superb and that's what we all love.
Always a treat when you share your adventures with us all. Sat with my 2 boys watching this, and my 9 year old tells me how relaxing your video is and how it makes him want to go on an adventure also, for me this shows how down to earth and genuine your channel is.
Belting camp that Chris. Looks a nice location with great views. Plenty of dramatic clouds throughout. Love that tent, solid and roomy. Great to see you back out mate ATB👌⛺️
Chris, must admit you've got jewels going out on the tops in that storm, i know the tent can stand it but all the same. great stuff again mate. We had a gang at Shell Island and that storm wrecked so many tents and resolve I must say, never mind onwards and upwards... All the very best
Was only the tail end of it, but good fun all the same. Would have been nice to get hunkered down in the thick of it but didn't have free time until it was passing to the NE. I've seen quite a few broken tents at various festivals and M.R. callouts over the storm.
Great spot for a camp Chris. A nice relaxing watch. Appreciate the shoutout 👍. I really wish I would have brought one of the real turmat meals on my last trip to the highlands. I don’t do dehydrated meals often but of all the ones I have tried those are definitely the best! ATB buddy.
Alright pal, you're welcome. I watched part one of your Scotland trip last night, need to leave a comment. Those midges, damn - horrendous. Thankfully the breeze on the Loch gave you some respite! Turmat meals are definitely the best from the dehydrated range. I still need to get a jetboil skillet. Looking forward to your next installment mate! Have to get a camp in sometime and crack a beer!
Good to see you back out mate... I do like the look of the tent .. I don't own a tunnel tent anymore, am looking to get one again though. My budget may stretch go the abisco light 2.. Take care out there.
Nice to see you back. Heartening to see wishes come true. 😊 The best way to rehydrate meals is to tip into the Billy with the recommended water. Leave it as long as you can. It will absorb cold water. Then slowly bring to a gentle bubble. Occasionally stirring You will use 1/2 the gas and guaranteed piping for consumption. In case you ever get low on butane anyway. Peace
I recommend the ridge monkey grill.. it's never let me down.. and it gives you more options for cooking different meals... I hope you can continue the videos buddy.. 👌👌

Nice one mate, great vid and Quality over quantity as always . Try the turmat taco bowl, can recommend it! How do you think the msr access 1 would cope in those winds? Bought one recently but not been able to test it in anything like that yet? Thanks mate 👍
That would be a good test! The lads from Twin Peaks camping had one out in the Brecons in some very strong winds. Bit of flex but it did well - have a dig through their channel and find it mate. Cracking tent the Access 1 for the weight and tiny footprint!
If you want it easier to get the water into all the folds on the bag, tear out the corners at the bottom. I addition to make the bag free standing, it also makes it easier for the water to saturate the powder by expanding the inner area of the bag.
I bet it felt great getting back out there. It's crap when life gets in the way, isn't it 🤣 funnily enough,I was talking about wanting one of those jetboil skillets today too 🤣 I want a bacon sandwich on a camp 🤣 looked like a good camp...can't beat a bit of strong winds to make you feel alive 👌
Yes, the bad weather camps are always the best. Getting a bit bored of the dehydrated meals now, so yes - going to invest in one and start making some meals from scratch! 🙂

Great camp that Chris and very welcome back after the summer break and it's a great reset button. Can I ask a quick question and as I know you have one of these tents as I got it on your recommendation and also Ant has influenced me on the Bobcat 1 that I think is a great tent. However, I can't seem to sleep on wild camps very well even with earplugs and headphones .Not sure if it's the mummy sleeping bag or the tiny Bobcat 1 that a massively respect. So trying to rectify this, I am going to try my Vango tempest 200 recommended by you, but in your opinion is the naturegike cloud peak 2 a better option to purchase to replace. Cheers in advance pal atb mate
Alright mate - two things here..... The Cloud Peak 2 is a great budget tent for the right conditions - better suited to fair weather but has bags of room for 1 - slightly involved to pitch, especially in winds. The Tempest 200 is ace - it's obviously less roomy but it's more robust and able to tackle wilder weather, much easier to pitch - can't sit up in it though. If you don't intend on heading out in rougher conditions, get the Cloud Peak 2. As for sleeping, I was similar - I found changing to a quilt helped me - literally a game changer. Sleeping bags are far too restrictive and I could never get comfortable! It made a huge difference to the quality of sleep I was able to get.
@@MCMOutdoors Many thanks for your invaluable comments that I am going to try to improve my sleep. I do a lot up one of your fave camps fairly local so I would rather have a tent that is overkill so prob gonna try my Vango that is in my arsnal but like I say I really enjoy the bobby aswell. I have a Nordisk Halland LW 2, which I love. Question... how do you find the noise levels in the Hilleberg Nammatj 2 from the wind V's the Nordisk Halland LW 2?

Good to see you back out pal, great shots. It was a wild night that's for sure. How are you finding the Paramo.? I got the jacket, not really been tested yet..maybe once, it held up fine. Just doesn't feel like its going to...
Dont care what anyone says, Hillebergs are the dogs. I must admit that I added extra guys to my allak 2 but that was personal preference. Looked at this one a few times and this is probably the most detailed review I have seen and will defo consider one now as I appreciate 2 man tents for the space
I'll be making a clinically detailed proper review soon. Hillebergs get a lot of hate - for no good reason. They are the finest, most robust shelters you can buy (in my view). The Nammatj is a superb shelter.
Good to see you back out. Love that part of the lakes. Not got out for a while myself, hoping to in September. Great that you're getting to see the kids most important thing. I don't live with mine cherish everyday I get with them.

Hahahaha - I need a helicopter next time
@@MCMOutdoorsI’d be blowing after 5 minutes with that monster 😅
Good to see you back out pal, great shots. It was a wild night that's for sure.
How are you finding the Paramo.? I got the jacket, not really been tested yet..maybe once, it held up fine.
Just doesn't feel like its going to...
Thanks mate - as for my jacket, it totally leaked the next day. I was soaked. Going to go back to them and see what they say.
Welcome back lad.....great video chris ATB MATE👍
Thanks mate - glad you enjoy it
Great to see you back, and back in at the deep end. Been keeping up on your Instagram, happy family times.
Thanks pal - yes, busy with family adventures but fantastic to be back out on an atmospheric camp! Thank you for watching mate.
Great to have you back
Cheers Graham 👌👍
Its hoppy and floral!! You should become a professional beerologist!!
🤣
Good to see you back out. Love that part of the lakes. Not got out for a while myself, hoping to in September. Great that you're getting to see the kids most important thing. I don't live with mine cherish everyday I get with them.
Was great to be back out. Yep, they're the priority - camps come a close second when time allows. Atb pal
Good to see you back out and looking happy, I camped at styhead tarn on Wednesday and my BL solo was getting a hammering that night it was horrible weather, ATB
Was certainly a gnarly weekend! Can't beat the BL Soulo mate. Superb shelter.
Nice one Chris great to see you out great camp mate!
Just bough a SH Soulo like your original one you had.
Not been out in it yet but looking forward to it.
Will never take it to the limit but love it!
Oh and all the other tents😂😂
Atb G
Absolute quality tent mate! Nice one and enjoy it!
Great to see you back out! Was thinking it was a while since you've been on. As a single father of two (many years ago all grown up now 😉) its good to see you getting some time to yourself doing what you love 👍
Cheers, yep - not much free time lately but I'm not complaining. Great to be back out when time allows 👍
Great to see you back out mate 👍
Was brilliant to be back out in the mountains mate!
Not the best podcast to listen to on a solo wild camping in the middle of nowhere 😮
Can't beat some scary tales!
Great to see you back out Chris, and what a fantastic video. Love the way you capture the atmosphere of your surroundings, both verbally and video. Thanks for keeping me entertained for half an hour and giving me that inspiration to get off my backside and get back out. Funny enough, my last camp was in May and on Stony Cove Pike. Look forward to the next one mate 👍
Cheers Pete! Hope you manage to get out soon pal
@@MCMOutdoors I’m aiming for the weekend mate. 👍
Fingers crossed for you pal!
